    Legend has it that Qantas A300 still hasn’t touched its nose wheel down yet. Now living in wheelie heaven.

      It's an A300 doing the Wheelie . not a 767 .

      qantas had A300's for a few years due to the qantas merger with TAA/Australian airlines (They also got their 737-300's and 400's from the merger too) in 1993, then they got rid of the A300's.

    • @eltfell
      @eltfell 7 лет назад +1

      It looks as if there were issues with the front wheel, for example no green light or so. The Qantas A300's were former Australian Airlines (TAA) A300's.

    Thanks for uploading this video capturing the history of aircraft operations at Sydney, I liked, subbed and added to my favourites! It is such a shame that so many of these aircraft don't fly to Sydney anymore and airlines like Ansett don't exist anymore.

    There is a surprising absence of McDonnell Douglas aircraft at this airport, considering the year (circa. 1997)
    No DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, MD-11 or any MD-80 series.

    • @matthewcrowe5023
      @matthewcrowe5023 7 дней назад

      Not many passengers airlines flew those aircraft types into SYD!
      Freight companies would often, I know DHL & FedEx flew both dc10 & MD11's frequently into Sydney

    I find it interesting that the Qantas livery, which remains the same today, was far and away more striking then than every other airline. In fact some of the other airlines looked like suburban bus company liveries, horrible. That Qantas livery is still influencing many airlines (eg: American Airlines' recent update) with it's simplicity and style.

    What an “unusual” landing at about 1’45” where the QANTAS pilot appears to deliberately prolong lowering the front gear, at one point pitching up towards a tail strike... looks like pure play rather than focus on a company endorsed roll out procedure?

    Canada 3000 757 at Sydney @ 8m30sec . Its in either 1997 or 98. thats the only two years they flew the 757 into Sydney from Vancouver via Honolulu and Fiji. From 1999 the used the A330 and they went bankrupt in 2000.

    • @johnthoroughgood3915
      @johnthoroughgood3915 6 лет назад

      The A330 would have started second half of 1999 Pete, as we flew to Vancouver and return in June of 99 on the B757. What a trip that was. Cheers John

    Duen969 Comment current 2021 all old school since 1960's in my line... priceless in your in the modern age 1980's feel all good. Love celery stick Cathay Pacific colours VHS have been there 1980's feel too modern at the time love the old jets sad to say Ansett now gone the old industry and so many 747's gone. Good times. Yes B747 so common in your video but gone in 2021 not to return. I always wonder ultimate new generation 2021 flyers of what they will never experience purchasing a flight ticket in person in an Airline office in person and get a hand written carbon ticket and pay in cash. The airline industry has changed since 1960's into 2021.
