Reseting the panoramic sunroof on ford f150 calibrate re-initalize reset it to open and close. didn't work but was able to emergency close it with close and vent mode.
My sunshade wouldn’t close all the way, open about an inch 1/2. In Vegas heat, IT SUCKS and the truck never gets cool enough. I tried your trick with the end buttons(lights) and holding that arrow button until…SON OF A GUN, IT WORKED!!! Only video I found that helped! THANK YOU!!!
That trick worked for me!! When sun roof is almost closed, press the sunroof close tab and vent tab at the same time. I'm all sealed up until the part comes in!!
Try calibrating with the sunroof in the vented position first. I went through this also after replacing rails and it was very frustrating. I think starting in the vented position did the trick if I remember correctly.
I found my cause: The front half of the sunroof has a slight bow to it from baking in the sun.. etc. When I try to open it, the Two sun roofs make contact and the motor tries it’s best to overcome the friction and slams it down onto the tracks. This chips away at the plastic rail eventually rendering it useless. I have to manually push up on the back-half of the sunroof to create space.
It seems like the safety feature is activating thinking there is an obstacle in its path. When the motor detects an abnormal amp draw it reverses. Have you tried pushing / assisting it from the outside to see if it will close all the way?
I did the calibration in auxiliary mode and my 2016 f 1 fiddy sunroof seems to be working again. Doing the calibration while the truck was running did NOT work.
I had to take it to the dealer and they replaced the frame, tracks, guides, and both motors. $4,700. $2000 out of my pocket and FORD paid the rest. No warranty.
How did you get Ford to pay $2000? I just had the dealership close my sunroof because I feel that paying $4,700 is absolutely asinine to replace it since it’s clearly a well known issue.
Are this damn sunroofs not working because something is broken or because of software issues mine cracks and makes struggling noises and acting all weird and crazy
Any thoughts for mine. The sun shade only goes to hafl way and the rest of the buttons don’t seem to respond the fuse is fine, and it just makes a clicking sound when trying to recalibrate it
Hi Splitz I relplaced the rails and see exactly what you describe. Sunshade only closes half way and the only button that moves the glass is the close button. Did you figure out what was going on? In addition I can’t get mine to start initializing.
This proceedure in an Outlander actually does require an advanced unterstanding of quantum mechanics. 😂 The issue that caused all of my issues on the outlander was that a piece of glass from a previous sunroof panel (shattered and was replaced)... But that tiny piece of glass was in the little cable track... So the sunroof would get 98% closed and then reopen. It was super finicky until i figured that out because it would eventually not close at all. Been great ever since then.

My track assembly just broke as I opened the moon roof. It would not close by itself. I was able to close it by doing this. Thank you very much.

I did. You can see a bit of it in the video. I also tried removing the inner plastic cover to make sure it wasn't holding it back.

I assume you already checked for debris in the rails. So you might have a broken rail. Not sure there's a way to close it without replacing the rail.

I'm not sure about sync3 but I would try resetting the whole radio.
Had to turn the Bluetooth on for mine after 3 years of using the Bluetooth idk how it got turned off but if you haven’t tried it might work
