Thank you for watching it. I do not know of a book exclusively about the Soul in Akan culture but many writers speak about it in their work. I have just published another video, elaborating about the Soul and Spirit, so check it out and let me know your thoughts. I do reference a few of the writers and their comments in the video.
I am a Jamaican, I think I have akan roots, I can see far and sense things, my dad and my uncles use to dress up an do jankanoe on holidays, I see that tradition in some African countries also.
The purpose of religion (christianity, islam, etc.) is to influence/persuade people to abandon, forget and denounce their own culture and traditions, especially spiritual practices. I referenced two authors and their books in the video; "African Spirituality: On Becoming Ancestors" by Anthony Ephirim-Donkor at 4:02 and "An Essay on African Philosophical Thought: The Akan Conceptual Scheme" by Kwame Gyekye at 8:39. Study and preserve your own culture and traditions! Thanks for watching.
A very educative work. Mo ne adwumapa. But we should know that calling black/blacken defamed.or shameful is a brainwashed term to disgrace blackness. So as a black enlightening channel, we should be careful of this. Since ancient days, we have called ourselves Black people and black means fullness. Also, let us work on proper pronunciation of the Twi words. If it must be done then it must be done well. Medaase.

Great presentation. How does go about getting the herbs and other items to cleanse your Soul?
Thank you. The herb is Purslane, which is considered a "weed." It grows plentiful in nature during mid to late summer in the USA.
