- Ricky ended up in HMP Frankland after making a very bad decision one night. Frankland isn't where your average shoplifter ends up - It houses some of the UK's most dangerous, scary and vile beasts.

But, he's out now doing unbelievably well doing positive things for people with mental health so I caught up with him so he could tell me about it all.

Seems like a reformed guy...lot of these ex prison casts , you can tell it's a front ..or he's better than say kev lane who obviously was still relishing the violence.....why probation stamped on him.. wether they have the right to do that ,or if the the construct of IPP is right is another conversation....well done Ricky lad. Keep the ball in the air..I root for these lads ..I met Ricky in prison and he was well pre reform at that point....good to see.the progression ..... FULL POWER RICKY ROCK ON❤...one of the nice guys that got through on being genuine Geordie .its the way to garner respect...not violence...or throwing weight about...NO DRUGS ARE AS POWERFUL AS A PRISON RELEASE... gets 99 years, but only does 5 and gets out of course, i know people who got the same sentence, ipp, and there still in prison 20 years down the line,

This isn’t a personal attack on you Ricky your a top bloke but it boils my piss when people on IPP say they got 99 years in prison . There not sentenced to 99 years behind the door . It’s a sentence that sounds worse than it is . Don’t get me wrong its not good but ya not gonna do half of 99 years behind the door it’s the length of the licence not the length of the sentence : granted you don’t get an EDR earliest date of release but your not gonna be banged up for 50 years . You might keep getting out and getting straight locked up again for the next 50 years coz youl allways be on licence and if ya mess up it’s a straight recall . I got IPP when I was 16 in 1995 and back then outside ya cell you had a door card with ya name and the length of ya sentence and mine said 99 years and for them that didn’t actually know that your not gonna do 99 years it’s impressive . I remeber beeen buzzing coz it said 99 years I wanted people to think I got that long . That’s what mind set I was in back then didn’t take it serious at all , I wanted to be in jail like all my mates . If only I knew then what I know now lol things would deffo be different anyway I ended up doing 9 n half year behind the door in total . And when IPP got scrapped I got my probation to sort it can’t remeber how I went about it but my licence eventualy got squashed . But some people arnt that lucky and are still on tenter hooks my mates as still carried on . Not sure but I think EPP is the new IPP now but don’t quote me on ot .: so yer I was in marshgate in Doncaster . Was run by premier prisons when I was there . No tv to kettle no nowt . Then I went to wetherby YOI it was north east south and west wing when I was there . Had to do goveners inspection on a Sunday morning with ya bed packs and get all ya shit all nice and neat on ya bed lol . Then when I was old enough to go a Propa adult jail I went to armly and everthorpe which is humber now . Then wheelston then lindholm then finished my sentence as a cat D in Hatfield which is next door to lindholm . Think there 4 jails in Doncaster . If y wondering why I moved around so much it’s coz I was a little cocky C##T and was allways getting into bother . Anyway sorry for waffling . Never know someone might find it interesting or sommat they didn’t know until they read this waffle lol . Crime doesn’t pay . Life’s much easier been a law abiding citizen.
IPP and LiFE licenses are 99 years on the prison computer system. That’s how it is. I’m guessing when criminals in America charges are added together and have a 375 year sentence must make you hurt yourself mentally
After release from I PP You stay out of trouble with probation then after ten years you and probation can apply to the home office for the 99 year license to be removed. If I’m wrong I’m wrong but have met many IPP sentenced lads during my time in the prison estate.

The best way for me to do my time was gttin into the gym, N tryn gt in2 education, N learning course, s . As it mkes ur time fly in. But it tk me a few sentences 2 learn ths. As a was usually tkin drugs , n waiting 4 visits , N its a lng time whn ur doin ur time tht way . N cld cause alot ov trouble. But u live & learn.
oh and where's the scars from the hot oil? I've seen it happen and there face melted, and yeah boiling water and sugar, anyway he must be on a life licence to yeah?
99 years but only did about 4 . Why do people
On IPP allways say they got 99 years . If he was sentenced to 99 year he would of had to do over 49 years ! Stop telling everyone you was sentenced to 99 years ! I was also an IPP prisoner and did 8 years not 44 ! Fix up stop making it sound like you’ve got 100 years !
If you get on the prison computer system which the screws use. For lifers it says life with the tariff on file. With an ipp sentence for that inmate, it says 99years on the computer. Just thought I'd mention that. Bless. P.S. Ricky's good stuff and comes across as a caring guy who doesn't want kids to go through what he went through. Listen to the guy. Its a 99 year license not prison time. You are making him sound much worse and there are still loads of people in there with some of them only sentenced to a 1 year ipp.
Ricky my first sentence was assault with a bottle 3 months but it went in slow as f*k man it was like double that

Can remember when they took slop out from the cells .lads were moaning about it for YEARS......as if it was a privilege they had had removed because it was the only chance to get your deals done on a daily basis... Beggars belief but. Totally true.I did for a while ..but not years.... try a 3 man slop out routine and then tell me your shyness about cell ablutions ❤😂
