I'm aware of a Truss speech writer who gave her a speech. She criticised it and demanded a rewrite. The speech writer knew her character and gave it back unamended and she said it was now great. 😮

She enjoyed humiliating people who stood up to her, or had the potential to stand up to her, because she is inherently week. Her ideology is weak, her constitutional character is weak, and, as a demagogue - albeit of the female variety, and not a very good one at that - she was weak. I think she knows herself that she is weak, which leads her to denegrate others, to blame others for her own misgivings, and create phantom enemies for scapegoating. By bringing others down the hope is that she elevates herself up and her weakness can be masked to some degree by those gullible enough to believe it.
Her ideology (that of low taxation, little to no regulation and oversight, small government, a willingness to accept ever increasing levels of inequality, and privatisation of everything in sight) IS a root cause of many of the problems that we have today. The rich dont get to benefit from our hard work, our infrastructure, our people, and not have to contribute their fare share. Her ideology is rotten to the core and at odds with a civilized society and world. I am proud that we rejected her.

I take so much issue with the idea that Thatcher's policies could be seen as a success. The selling off of nationalised assets to the private sector provided short term income and an initial boost of investment. Those same policies are the same reason that we have a housing crisis and total failure of public services and utilities today. When there is nothing left to sell and the government has no money left, the country is held to ransom. The success that his generation enjoyed under Thatcher is being paid for by the generations after him, I find it disgusting that people like him can't recognise that

Yours and your family's life will always be in danger, you don't have true privacy again; and you have to live with every success and failure which will be the highest stakes successes and failures. £160k for that? His analysis gives the vibe of it all failed because they weren't right wing enough, which is what you usually get from people like that. "There is no growth", well, it's almost like a decade of quantitative easing only made the rich richer and us poors have no money to spend anymore, so of course there's no growth and making the country socialism for the rich and "free" markets for the poor like Truss wanted to do clearly won't help, cause that's what we've been doing since the 80s.
