I'm loving you guys getting into Stray Kids! I recommend as next reactions their last title track Case 143 and a song called Venom, from the same album as Maniac. They also have a christmas song called Christmas Evel :)
Like others have said, this is really Felix' voice, and they didn't need to alter it. However, the chorus of Maniac is also a great demonstration of their production skills (trying to figure out why this chorus hits so hard was what made me a Stray Kids fan 🙈) and specifically, how good they are at tailoring their music to the voices they have in the group. If you listen closely, that first part of the chorus actually combines at least 3 different sources of bass sounds, that are all working together and mixed for maximum effect: Felix' voice, the synth bass (they both follow the same melody, which has actually been a staple in Stray Kids production for "Felix deep voice moments" since God's Menu), plus the bass drum (I think it is an 808), that is emphasising important words. The second time the chorus comes around, the main singer on the first part is Hyunjin, but they kept Felix' voice mixed into the word "Maniac". So, the second time around you get 4 different sources of bass, all amplifying each other. If you listen to Felix do it acappella, you can hear that his voice alone is already really powerful, but the advantage of having in-house/in-group production is that they can account for and support his voice from the get-go. There are other deep voices in KPop, but other than Bang Yongguk from B.A.P. (who also wrote his own stuff and could make optimal use of his voice), songwriting + production usually fail to use them to their full potential. So, the chorus hits so hard because Felix has a rich vocal tone even on lower registers, and also because the composition and the arrangement of the track make sure to power it up. 😁

I love watching Eric go from hating Kpop to appreciating it for its art. Stray kids are the coolest group, they speak on a lot of issues mainly focusing on mental health and being yourself. I'd love to see you guys check out more songs from there and I'm sure Eric will love to hear the 3racha aka the group's rappers. They are incredibly talented kids, they write their lyrics, they produce most of the songs themselves, and they even have a dance unit that is focused on choreography aspect P.S: Since you guys are new to the kpop world, I would advise you to refrain from comparing groups, each group has its own loyal, dedicated fanbase which might not appreciate the comparison
I so love Stray Kids. Venom, Freeze, Circus, Miroh, Hellevator, Back Door and Easy are FIRE. 3 of the guys have made songs 3Racha and Hey Day which are Mind Blowing in itself. Anything with Stray Kids is a banger really.
Felix can do both high notes and deep notes everyone who listens to him their mouths drop. These are brilliant everything you see they do themselves. You need to listen to Jessi , Ateez, Treasure, Big Bang and 2ne1. Start right at the beginning with these guys District 9 is phenomenal and they look like babies. I am loving Erics drinking vessels
I think the lowest I’ve heard Felix get is Victory Song. The last time I listened to this in my car, Felix’s voice by itself shook my whole car. Granted I had the volume way up but that’s the best way to listen to them! 🎶💕🦋

Yup, that's Felix's natural voice. We've heard him live and unaltered hundreds of times. He was 19 for God's Menu and 21 here, so he's going to keep following the bass path of getting deeper and richer as he ages.
love your reactions to Maniac and Stray Kids. What amazes me is they produce their own music including lyrics, arrangements, composing, and producing. They just one album of the year at AAA 2022 for Oddinary and Maxident both mini albums released this year with title tracks Maniac and Case143. Before their albums are released they also make mini movie trailers which are amazing good like an m/v and give us the concept for their album. Even if you don't react to the trailers highly recommend watching them. Felix has one of the deepest vocals and its not altered. There are many videos just for Felix on his vocal duality range and many reactors that are vocal coaches are usually amazed. He can talk and sing very deep or he can sound like a little baby with a tiny voice and he has a middle smooth range that you will think it someone else singing. When he talks it is a very bassie vocal but not as low as he can sing combine with his Aussie accent and angel face and smile it for sure throws you in a loop. Their live performance at the 2022 MNet Asian Music Awards (MAMA is equivalent to Grammys) was legendary epic on a grand scale and they were the headliner for the 1st day with Venom and Maniac performance. A must see. They always go above and beyond and give 200% entertainment when performing, with so much energy you can't but get excited. They are coming back to USA to finish their 2022 Maniac tour on the 2 concerts they had to reschedule and added a few more days to CA. They will be in Atlanta and Texas in March 2023 which are the reschedules due to the original concerts were postponed because 3 members got covid during the 2022 Maniac tour, and they will end the tour in California.
Just gotta say: I've been watching you guys for just about 2 months now.....like.....binge watched....I just can't stop. Your chemistry, Eric not fanboying over everything from the get go (paying close attention to the lyrics coming from rap / hip hop), and on the other hand seeing Kyle enjoy himself and giving really good insight on the metal part of things....it's so refreshing! They have so many amazing songs. They easily have over 160 songs and around 30 genres of music spread in their discography. There are so many that I would recommend but it really depends on what you want... Literally anything you pick is going to be worth listening to at least once. I might not search up every song by them by name to hear it, but if it comes on- I'm not skipping it. I will listen to it all the way through. I find them to be a no skip group and that is really rare for me.
You guys should keep checking out Stray Kids. And that is Felix's real voice when it goes deep like that. That's what made me interested in them when I first found out about them 😂

The music Stray Kids puts out there is just a cut above the rest. The production, lyrics, composition, and arrangement is just next level. Not bad for a bunch of young 20 something young men. The lyrics are layered. The tracks straight up are so much better than some of the crap out in the world. They OWN what they produce and deserve every accolade that has been bestowed on them so far and (Felix is 100% legit. My mans is a beast in this pretty visual package, but that's part of the draw.) I've said it on your channel before, their discography is deep and if you follow their progressive growth is phenomenal. The quality of this group is unmatched. #sorrynotsorry You reference BlackPink, but I will challenge you to truly listen and take into account that Stray Kids and their production line (3Racha), more importantly their leader, Bang Chan, has a finger in each and every one of their songs, you'll see that they truly are in a class on their own.
if you want to appreciate Changbin's rap talent (main rapper in Stray Kids) check out Millie and Fhero "mirror mirror" featuring Changbin. It's one of the best rap verses IMO. Most people focus on Millie in that song, fair enough, it's her song and she do good, but pay attention to what Changbin is doing. Jaw-dropping :)
This is the first stray kids song I ever heard (initially on tiktok). They also have so much random content together, where you can see each of their personalities shine. I never ever saw the appeal of listening to music in another language, but stray kids have completely changed that for me. Maniac so far remains my favourite song by them. I can't dance for the life of me yet everytime I sing along to the chorus and try to do it's choreography 😅

Just adding here that Felix actually often have a lower tone/pitch with live vocals. So if it's really anything, 3Racha brightens his voice in production!
5:40 it's always like that when you're new to watching kpop MV or Japanese animes, you can't read fast enough to enjoy the video scenes. But eventually you'll get used to it and like magic you will enjoy the videos and subs realtime.

Honestly, you should react to this entire album. EVERY single song is freakin amazing and could've been a single. I have been a STAY for 3 years but till now, no other album has made me go crazy the way "Oddinary" did!!
I don’t know about anyone else but when watching music videos in other languages I tend to watch it twice. Once for the music video and just the vibe of the song, and again to read the lyrics. That way I don’t miss anything.
One of the great things about this video is they didn't use much green screen, almost everything is practical. Not even the scene with all of the floating effects. That big brain prop was practical.
Felix's range is insane, especially for a man. As well as being a bass (this is nothing, check out "Victory Song", his voice legit crawls on the ground) he can go all the way up into tenor and even has a head voice.

I know not everyone is really into the idea of K-Pop but if there is any chance, I think a lot of people would love you do look at more of their stuff, They've got such an ecclectic discogrophy along incredible performances. From high energy bangers like Domino, Beware (Grrr) and Boxer to softer songs like The Story That Never Ends, Scars etc. They also have an album of their individual stuff that shows their different colours and what they are capable of. It would be awesome to see you guys exploring them more if you get the chance to! :)

Idk If this will help you as much as it did me: 8 members (used to be 9)- listed by age Bang Chan - aussie, leader, 1/3 producers for their music and the unit is called 3racha, he was hitting the high notes towards the end and is apart of the vocal line as well and is usually in a crop top lol Lee know (Lino)- the one with the purple hair and you said you liked his stank face! he is apart of the dance unit (danceracha) and the vocal line, used to be in a dance group and then was a back up dancer for bts on tour before debuting, he’s got a great laugh and is sassy with alot of strange, dry humor Changbin- he had green hair in the mv and is a phenomenal rapper and apart of the rqp line, 2/3 of the producing unit (3racha), he’s super silly even tho he looks serious and has arms that grown men have asked to be choked by Hyunjin- the long red haired guy, he’s an amazing dancer (apart of the rap line and danceracha) with wonderful facial expressions, is an fantastic painter/drawer and all of the band members adore him Han- the rapper with the funny pink sweater in the train, apart of the rap unit and 3/3 of the producing unit (3racha), he’s often called the aces of aces because of how well he does pretty much everything (dancing the, singing, rapping, etc) but he’s also really goofy and falls down a lot lol Felix- he’s the deep bass with the blonde hair (yeah that’s his real voice), an aussie as well, he’s apart of the rap unit and danceracha, he often has a mullet and has some cute freckles Seungmin- he sang the cosplay line and the long note over the large panned out cityscape, he’s apart of the vocal line but is also apart of vocalracha- which can be confusing but he and one other member are referred to as vocalracha because of how often and well they sing (while the others are often distinguished by dance and producing), he is also really funny and often savage towards the other members I.N (Jeongin)- he was the one with the cute smile while dancing and had the two colored eyes, he’s the maknae (youngest), apart of the vocal line and vocalracha, he’s on Instagram a lot with ootd because he likes fashion and is really cute, he’s also super savage to his other members and they adore him Some mv rec’s: Thunderous, Case 143, Christmas Evil, Venom, Back Door, Miroh, Red Lights, and Easy

As someone who's a beginner producer, yes, it's Felix's real voice, but there's a filter/effect on it to give it that extra crispy edge. Also fun fact: most of what you think is green screen actually isn't and it's insane. It's mostly practical effects, and one shot was actually done by filming tons of takes and editing them all into one. It's madness.
There isn't a video but I really think you would like 3racha done by their subunit of the same name. It's on their Maxident album! It's become on of my top Stray Kids songs, the lyricism and music production is top quality.
You guys should react to freeze and venom too from the same album “Oddinary”. I love everything about the theme of being different. Odd instead of ordinary. There’s so much substance to stray kids 💙

5:40 it's always like that when you're new to watching kpop MV or Japanese animes, you can't read fast enough to enjoy the video scenes. But eventually you'll get used to it and like magic you will enjoy the videos and subs realtime.

Honestly, you should react to this entire album. EVERY single song is freakin amazing and could've been a single. I have been a STAY for 3 years but till now, no other album has made me go crazy the way "Oddinary" did!!
I don’t know about anyone else but when watching music videos in other languages I tend to watch it twice. Once for the music video and just the vibe of the song, and again to read the lyrics. That way I don’t miss anything.

One of the great things about this video is they didn't use much green screen, almost everything is practical. Not even the scene with all of the floating effects. That big brain prop was practical.
Felix's range is insane, especially for a man. As well as being a bass (this is nothing, check out "Victory Song", his voice legit crawls on the ground) he can go all the way up into tenor and even has a head voice.

Theres alot to learn about SKZ after you react to a few videos check out a guide. This group of 8 is self producing...if you like the beat its because the leader Bang Chan most likely made it..there are sub units in this group too. Also these guys are the funniest, sweetest, and they adore their fan base. We #STAY are pretty spoiled 😉🥰
I know not everyone is really into the idea of K-Pop but if there is any chance, I think a lot of people would love you do look at more of their stuff, They've got such an ecclectic discogrophy along incredible performances. From high energy bangers like Domino, Beware (Grrr) and Boxer to softer songs like The Story That Never Ends, Scars etc. They also have an album of their individual stuff that shows their different colours and what they are capable of. It would be awesome to see you guys exploring them more if you get the chance to! :)

Bang Chan - aussie, leader, 1/3 producers for their music and the unit is called 3racha, he was hitting the high notes towards the end and is apart of the vocal line as well and is usually in a crop top lol
Lee know (Lino)- the one with the purple hair and you said you liked his stank face! he is apart of the dance unit (danceracha) and the vocal line, used to be in a dance group and then was a back up dancer for bts on tour before debuting, he’s got a great laugh and is sassy with alot of strange, dry humor
Changbin- he had green hair in the mv and is a phenomenal rapper and apart of the rqp line, 2/3 of the producing unit (3racha), he’s super silly even tho he looks serious and has arms that grown men have asked to be choked by
Hyunjin- the long red haired guy, he’s an amazing dancer (apart of the rap line and danceracha) with wonderful facial expressions, is an fantastic painter/drawer and all of the band members adore him
Han- the rapper with the funny pink sweater in the train, apart of the rap unit and 3/3 of the producing unit (3racha), he’s often called the aces of aces because of how well he does pretty much everything (dancing the, singing, rapping, etc) but he’s also really goofy and falls down a lot lol
Felix- he’s the deep bass with the blonde hair (yeah that’s his real voice), an aussie as well, he’s apart of the rap unit and danceracha, he often has a mullet and has some cute freckles
Seungmin- he sang the cosplay line and the long note over the large panned out cityscape, he’s apart of the vocal line but is also apart of vocalracha- which can be confusing but he and one other member are referred to as vocalracha because of how often and well they sing (while the others are often distinguished by dance and producing), he is also really funny and often savage towards the other members
I.N (Jeongin)- he was the one with the cute smile while dancing and had the two colored eyes, he’s the maknae (youngest), apart of the vocal line and vocalracha, he’s on Instagram a lot with ootd because he likes fashion and is really cute, he’s also super savage to his other members and they adore him

As someone who's a beginner producer, yes, it's Felix's real voice, but there's a filter/effect on it to give it that extra crispy edge. Also fun fact: most of what you think is green screen actually isn't and it's insane. It's mostly practical effects, and one shot was actually done by filming tons of takes and editing them all into one. It's madness.
You guys should check their performance at the mama 2022. That was FIRE! Just impeccable.

There isn't a video but I really think you would like 3racha done by their subunit of the same name. It's on their Maxident album! It's become on of my top Stray Kids songs, the lyricism and music production is top quality.
You guys should react to freeze and venom too from the same album “Oddinary”. I love everything about the theme of being different. Odd instead of ordinary. There’s so much substance to stray kids 💙
I recommend Dreamcatcher, they have unique sound. They fuse rock, metal, k-pop, edm, etc to their music.
I highly recommend Side Effects and Miroh. Those are the MVs that cemented their place with me.
They have 2 songs that are completely in english: deep end which is just felix and connected which is just Bang Chan. They also have an english version of their song Domino

I'm clique and stay! Domino has an English version. Freeze is great and PLEASE look at live shows...particularly KINGDOM and MAMA award shows (maniac/venom) and absolutely VICTORY SONG 2020 MAMA awards. Ryan Reynolds became a fan because of their deadpool version on Kingdom.
