Stray Kids are pretty amazing. They are completely self produced, from lyrics, arrangements, tracks, they do it all. Yeah the language barrier, definitely warrants most K-pop MVs at least two watches. And unfortunately some of the wordplay tends to get lost in translation. Stray kids are very well known for their witty, clever lyrics. Suggestions would be Freeze, Thunderous, Gods Menu and Easy.
Bang Chan does work with some other producers to make tracks (there are beats he solely worked on tho) but yeah they are as self-poduced as it gets, there isn't a kpop group in the industry as involved in song production as them, seeing their (well, Chan's) credits in the albums O.o
Doesn't really matter if it's self produced or they use other producers. It shouldn't be the selling point. The end result has to be good. And the song is really good.
@@movieedits1017 no but it means that they stand behind what theyre making and putting out and what they have to perform and put energy in for however long after that. self produced means you know what ure making and it also reflects a lot of talent and passion in what youre doing. next to that they have a lot of responsibility and work on writing songs most chances they get. and its once again just very skilled of them to be able to do this and to have such a big audience with self produced songs which barely happens esp in kpop. its one of the things theyre known for: how much they stand out and how original they are. so yeah its def one of the selling points BECAUSE the end result is good and they did it ALL (almost) by themselves. anyone can have ppl write songs for them and have people like it, producing it on ur own and creating ur own image and having this music that keeps u seperate from other groups bc of how distinctive it is is a big deal
Kpop MVs always take AT LEAST 3 playthroughs. Once for the music, again for the visuals, then once more for the lyrics. It's the only way to fully absorb the mind blowing talent. Sometimes I have to watch it even more just so I can focus on each member.
*Stray Kids* has close to 200 (if not more) songs in their short existence. They are one of the few groups are self produced by their leader *Bang Chan (or Chris),* JYP Entertainment gave him unheard of CONTROL over picking the members for the group. One of my favorite songs: - "Hellevator"
Y'all really are some of the best reactors. Y'all don't just stare at the screen and feel that the job is done, you analyze it all the way through and appreciate the music before, during and after you watch it.
Stray Kids makes it a point not to gender the subjects of their lyrics to allow the listener to interpret how they like. Certainly there is intention in their lyrics, but I appreciate that they allow listeners to get whatever they want out of the music. In this case, the venomous figure could be a person (some type of toxic relationship) or a toxic situation (like fame) Looking forward to more reactions!
You should check out their english songs! Double Knot, Levanter, Top, Slump and Domino all have english versions! And theyre all amazing, a lot of timess english versions of kpop songs dont hit as well but with stray kids it translates perfectly. Double Knot has a performance video and Top and Slump have recording videos i think because theyre songs for the anime Tower of God! I also find it hilarious that you guys always find a way to connect them to blackpink when the two groups really couldnt be more different 🤣
Eric - one option that some kpop fans/reactors do (aside from just binge the videos haha) - there are so many "fan made" color-coded lyric videos. Could watch the video, and then watch one of those to catch the lyrics, not to mention, see who is singing/rapping which part. So happy you two reacted to this one!! That beat just gets under your skin. To this day it'll catch my off-guard sometimes and give me goosebumps when that drop/chorus comes in. Would love to see you do "Back Door" or if you want to go towards the beginning "District 9"
Stray kids stages and performance are just something else They sound even better live, also they're one of the few groups that actually sing live..their stages are so fun I recommend watching their MAMA live performance
ANOTHER AWESOME ONE GUYS!!!! 😮. I got sucked into K-POP last year because of BLACKPINK, and these dudes (Stray Kids) are fucking awesome! I was thinking the same thing you said Eric…. I wish this was all English because I can’t imagine how much more I would be into some of these groups! There’s something refreshing about some of these K-POP groups. The music can rock, can bounce, can be fun. It doesn’t sound like typical pop, hip hop, rock. South Korea seems to be kicking ass. The music is good with these guys (and BP, etc), the videos are artistic and top notch production, the lyrics are often really well thought out and deep, the lighting, the color, the dancing, etc. Just a lot of fun energy. I keep saying it Everytime, but I can’t believe as a 49 year old white American male that I am so into K-POP! My wife and teenage sons think I am nuts! 😂. It was that BLACKPINK rabbit hole that sucked me in and I love it! AND YOU GUYS ARE KILLING IT WITH REACTIONS!!! PS- Try to get Dreamcatcher “Vision”. Has a really hard edge I know you will love. And they are easy on the eyes also like BLACKPINK! 😍
Want Baddassiery with A LOT of English? Try the XG Galz Xypher (New fusion K & J pop girl group, rapping mostly in English & blowing up globally right now... ERIC really needs to see this too, so welcome to Kpop & feast ur eyes on this: ruclips.net/video/-L4Visli9sA/видео.html
Stray Kids' Freeze, Charmer, Domino (dance practice), Muddy Water (Old School rap featured a whole English verse by Felix the Australian). Check this song out for a crazy long and fast korean rap, GOTTASADAE by BeWhy - this dude's rap game is insane.
Y'all hit the nail on the head about the language barrier. I am trying to learn this language now. Xdinary heros is their brother group from stray kids. They actually play instruments and have a punk rock sound. Theydebutedt last year. They might to a cover of Venom in the future they did on on stray kids debut song Hellevator and it was even more amazing. Als, the MAMA 2022 performance of Venom and Maniac versions has more rock sound. The energy at the live performance is off the charts.
A Lot of us feel the "pain" of having to read and watch and try to catch "both" parts of the video Which is why - Watching Reaction videos is how we catch the things we missed We see the things that you picked up on that we might not have we hear the things that you Pick out that we might have over looked Which is Why - We Thank You
The thing about subtitled videos is if you keep watching more of them, you will improve on your speed reading skills and eventually you'll get to a point where you're reading fast enough to be able to absorb everything simultaneously - the visuals, the sounds and the language. That's actually how I pick up on different languages like Korean, Japanese, Mandarin and Cantonese. It's all about practice and getting used to it.
The most popular/famous band Stray Kids. With self-produced original music and exceptional performances. A fourth-generation K-pop leader group sitting in the middle of the music market.
Honestly, they have so many songs that warrant checking out, not just for the music videos. Victory Song, Red Lights, Domino, Superbowl, Item, Comflex, Case 143, Topline, Circus etc. I could list so many that show their versitility. - If it helps to truly enjoy it, the album version of Super bowl is in English and there is an english version of Domino so honestly, enjoy losing yourselves down the rabbit hole. I know I have. LOL
We call it a crawling beat. And we were in love and awe from when it first dropped. And feel free to pause and rewind so that you can catch all the moments.
If you liked it I highly recommend "Heyday" by 3RACHA - (producing unit of skz - Bang Chan, Changbin and Han). I also recommend "The Tortoise and the Hare" (Very different and experimental but amazing song ) or "Charmer". As for their Japanese releases I would recommend "All in" and "Circus". Love the reactions btw!
I love how you guys react and the things that you pick up! Stray Kids is so creative with their sound and videos, it's crazy! So I want to recommend you some things with videos and also without because their B-Sides are also killer. So with videos you should probably also check out Freeze, Red Lights, Superboard, Give me your TMI, Cheese, Side Effects. I think you will enjoy those plenty! Without music video just look up the lyrics videos of the following; Muddy Water, Maze of Memories, Tortoise and the Hare, Silent Cry, Domino. I mean everything they make are bangers but yeah haha these are my recommendations! Keep up the good work.
Straykids are absolutely incredible! They write and produce everything themselves which is not common in kpop. Their leader Bang Chan personally selected each member which is also very very rare in kpop. So glad you're checking them out. This is my first video I've watched from you guys (bcuz I always watch ppl react to my faves Straykids lol) so I don't know what kind of audience you have but to address the language barrier issue, many reactors I watch will watch the video without paying attention to the lyrics just to enjoy the cinematography, music and choreography and then rewatch it a second time to read the lyrics. It only extends the reaction video by like 5 minutes so if that's something you'd be interested in doing then I highly recommend it. That way you can enjoy the lyrics and video without feeling like you're missing things 👍. Great reaction! Thank you for appreciating my boys and their hard work!
I started listening to *Stray Kids* Last Year... about 3 months ago and really... I can't stop listening to them They are so talented, their songs are DOPE and like you guys said there's something special about them. Love SKZ ❤️ Stray Kids everywhere all around the world 🇧🇷 Also, loved your reactions!
y'all should react to their god's ddu-du-ddu-du performance from Kingdom! it's a mash-up of their god's menu and blackpink's ddu-du-ddu-du and it was beyond epic! skz are amazing performers, not to mention extremely skilled rappers, singers, dancers, and producers!
Yayyyy now I can listen to it and/or sing it around you!! It takes me watching their m/v multiple times to fully catch all that goes on in them cuz of how dynamic and layered the visuals are! All their songs on their newest album are 🔥 I REALLY want you to listen to Muddy Waters cuz I know you’ll dig it a lot! Fun Fact - Felix is from Australia, English was his first language, he had to learn Korean 😉
Fwiw, SKZ do have English versions for a few of their songs. And since 25% of the group are native English speakers, and several more are good to very good with English, the translation sounds natural. They're able to reword the things that need to be reworded while preserving the overall meaning and matching the rap flows and whatnot. Perks of being the writers and producers while also fully bilingual. As should be expected, some fit better than others, but none are subpar. SLUMP is a masterpiece in all three versions (Japanese, Korean, English). Domino is almost as funny in English as it is in Korean. Levanter will always be gorgeous. TOP is hard-hitting in all three languages. Double Knot had to have been a nightmare to convert to English, but they made it work (plus we got a performance video for the ot8 English version, in addition to the MV for the original nine-member Korean version). And then there's the songs that are already originally in English, written by the two native-English-speaking Australian members, Chan's "Connected" and Felix's "Deep End."
awesome reaction guys! if you'd like Stray Kids actually does some songs in english such as "Top" "Double Knot" "Domino" "slump" :) only thing is with the english versions they don't have videos.
So he hasn’t done a cover for Venom, but RUclipsr That K-pop Guitarist does unbelievably cool covers of a lot of groups y’all have loved so far. Not strictly metal, but he accompanies the original videos/songs and gets the vibe right every time. I highly highly recommend his channel. Also! Loved this reaction, thank you so much for making it. If you’re interested, Ateez released a new song, Halazia, that I have a feeling you might like.
I hope you always read all the comments that tell u abt stray kids bcs I really love how stay explain it with every information that can make you going deeper and deeper to skz, enjoy your journey with skz
LOVE LOVE LOVE your reactions to stray kids. The beat of Venom reminds me of a spiders legs plucking across a web. If you like stray kids I HIGHLYYY recommend you react to Ateez!
It's funny becoming I was just thinking today about potentially trying to learn Korean for similar reasons you two expressed in this reaction. It would definitely inhance my understanding and appreciation of songs but, I just have to find the desire to pick up a new language and, that's the issue lol
"I never wanted to learn a language so bad!" Truer words have never been spoken. That being said, I'm teaching myself. I can already read some words and am beginning to recognize others. I can sound things out, for singing along purposes, but I don't know what the sounds even mean...yet. Lol. And because I know what sounds the symbols/letters make I can tell if I heard it right. Also, if you haven't already seen it, the most metal thing I've heard so far from Stray Kids is their MAMA 2022 performance version of Maniac. OMG IT'S SO GOOD!!! It's kind of industrial rock+edm (edm?) type sound, if I'm describing it right.🤔. I love it! Kyle, they also do Venom right before.😉 Of all the people I know personally and in social media, I think you two are the only ones who might understand what I am about to say. It is my humble opinion that Stray Kids are the Ronnie Radke of Kpop. They create their own music. They're doing their own thing. They mix it up and keep us guessing. They even call out their fans for being douchebags...just, a lot nicer than Ronnie does.🤣 Enjoy the rest of your day guys.🫰
They have some of their songs in English and it still sang by them; Slump, Domino, Top, Double Knot, and Levanter. They do very well with converting the songs to English without losing the original tempo and rhythm to the music. Also if you watch the MAMA 2022 live performance they did Venom and Maniac in a more metal version.
Thank you guys so much ❤. Check out the Mama version if you want to see a Metal version. Also, another group to check out is definitely ATEEZ. You’ll love them. Check out their MV for Guerilla.
I love all the kpop reactions! It's really fun watching you guys discover a whole new world!! I think you would like ATEEZ as well! They have some pretty cool stuff! Halazia and Guerrila are the most recent ones and really experimenral, but all their music is great! They are amazing as well and buddies with stray kids, its really wholesome!
next!: GOD'S DU-DU-DU-DU (Stray Kids use Blackpink song for a remix for a famous live performance competition Kingdom), spoiler alert - Stray Kids won the show ;)
I'm ARMY and don't normally like a lot of K-Pop. I know, sounds weird because BTS is part of the Korean Music Industry. Most ARMY consider BTS as their own separate genre. But I wanted to say that Westerners often refer to K-Pop as a genre when it's not, it is an industry. Just like the American Music Industry or The British Music Industry, you don't call those genres. But if you were going to categorize K-Pop as a genre, then Stray Kids and Blackpink would fit inside that box. Stray Kids is probably my favourite K-Pop group. And I am STAY friendly and my bias is Han and my bias wrecker is Changbin. Who is only ever so slightly ahead of Felix (gotta love Felix). Also BLINK friendly. Jenny is my bias. At the end of the day, good music... is good music. And I enjoy their work. They produce bangers and they're very entertaining. People often dismiss K-Pop and they shouldn't. These groups and artists are disciplined, well trained, seasoned professionals and performers. People are missing out.
I would love to see the hip hop head specifically react to Muddy water knowing the metal head always loves stray kids. It has an old school rap feel to it
Maniac is another great Stray Kids song, which is on the same album as Venom. If you’re looking for creativity, Jackson Wang is a genius. All of his videos are self-produced and are like mini-movies (some of the mvs even have behind the scenes that shows concept development, filming, etc); he never sticks to just 1 genre: rap, rock, alt, 80s pop, etc.; 90% of them are in English. This might satisfy that downside y’all were discussing, lol.
What I do is watch it once without the subtitles on so that I can focus on the video itself, and then I watch it again with subs on. It's worked well for me.
I agree with the language barrier. What I usually do for a first watch is watch a video with subtitles off to focus solely o the video and music then I watch it again with the lyrics on.
Chan produced this beat with the idea that it sounds like plucking a spiderweb! Also, I’m glad to hear the black pink appreciation. Stray kids are also huge blinks and sing their songs all the time! They even mixed their song Gods Menu with Blackpink’s Ddu Ddu :)
There are like 160 more songs to go with Stray Kids... I hope you continue the journey. If you want to try a fully English song of theirs, you could try "Double Knot" English version. It has a mv for it. Or you could try "Domino", "Slump" or "Levanter". They all have English versions, but those would havce to be done with a lyric video.
I watch the videos multiple times. Usually video first because they are always fire and you can’t help but not watch these videos then I go back to read all the lyrics.
Hii guys... A suggestion from me would be a group called "BIGBANG" which was at their peak from their debut to up until they decided to go on hiatus in 2016-2017.... They are from same agency as BLACKPINK called YG... They are 2nd generation k-pop group who changed whole k-pop industry all by themselves.... Many many 3rd and 4th generation group members are not only inspired by them but are actually die heart fans of BIGBANG... They are like "legends" of k-pop usually called as "idol's of idols"... I really really hope you guys check them out coz believe me they were way ahead of their time back then and I'm more than sure you'll enjoy them
Trust me, when you watch enough non-English content, you'll get used to watching things multiple times and get really good at reading very fast lol also, when you start listening to more kpop groups, you'll get more familiar with the musical properties that are just common things within kpop as a genre -- I hope you do find some more groups that y'all like! If you like music with interesting beats and sounds, you should check out ATEEZ
I think you'd love Easy, Miroh and then some of their experimental shit like Tortoise and the Hair. Also for deep, meaningful lyrics, Changbins solo song Streetlight is fire and actually made me cry.
What a lot of creators do when reacting to KPop videos, they watch the video first and react to it. Then go back and watch the subtitles and comment on things they might have missed. Maybe that can help later on

Double Knot, Easy & District 9. They are Bangers in my opinion, you need to react to them next.

Such a great reaction! loving your kpop reactions and Stray Kids especially! Another recommendation is Freeze!
YOU ARE NOW READY TO WATCHE "FREEZE" BY SKZ! AWESOME REACTION!!!

awesome reaction guys! if you'd like Stray Kids actually does some songs in english such as "Top" "Double Knot" "Domino" "slump" :) only thing is with the english versions they don't have videos.
Stray Kids-The Sound MV
New Release and Fire Hard Song 🔥
So he hasn’t done a cover for Venom, but RUclipsr That K-pop Guitarist does unbelievably cool covers of a lot of groups y’all have loved so far.
Not strictly metal, but he accompanies the original videos/songs and gets the vibe right every time. I highly highly recommend his channel.
Also! Loved this reaction, thank you so much for making it. If you’re interested, Ateez released a new song, Halazia, that I have a feeling you might like.
Yes and yes!
This specific aong is what made me appreciate SK. Inheard that intro, not knowing who it was, and immediately researched and binged their stuff
I hope you always read all the comments that tell u abt stray kids bcs I really love how stay explain it with every information that can make you going deeper and deeper to skz, enjoy your journey with skz
this one ruclips.net/video/dYS2Bf0a3WA/видео.html or this ruclips.net/video/_mR2zOcL_vo/видео.html
LOVE LOVE LOVE your reactions to stray kids. The beat of Venom reminds me of a spiders legs plucking across a web. If you like stray kids I HIGHLYYY recommend you react to Ateez!
The fact that SKZ is a self-producing group. they make incredible beats! (3racha)
“male ver of Blackpink” FACCCTSSSSS🔥💯💯💯💯
It's funny becoming I was just thinking today about potentially trying to learn Korean for similar reasons you two expressed in this reaction. It would definitely inhance my understanding and appreciation of songs but, I just have to find the desire to pick up a new language and, that's the issue lol
"I never wanted to learn a language so bad!"
Truer words have never been spoken. That being said, I'm teaching myself. I can already read some words and am beginning to recognize others.
I can sound things out, for singing along purposes, but I don't know what the sounds even mean...yet. Lol. And because I know what sounds the symbols/letters make I can tell if I heard it right.
Also, if you haven't already seen it, the most metal thing I've heard so far from Stray Kids is their
MAMA 2022 performance
version of Maniac.
OMG IT'S SO GOOD!!! It's kind of industrial rock+edm (edm?) type sound, if I'm describing it right.🤔. I love it!
Kyle, they also do Venom right before.😉
Of all the people I know personally and in social media, I think you two are the only ones who might understand what I am about to say. It is my humble opinion that Stray Kids are the Ronnie Radke of Kpop.
They create their own music. They're doing their own thing. They mix it up and keep us guessing. They even call out their fans for being douchebags...just, a lot nicer than Ronnie does.🤣
Enjoy the rest of your day guys.🫰
They have some of their songs in English and it still sang by them; Slump, Domino, Top, Double Knot, and Levanter. They do very well with converting the songs to English without losing the original tempo and rhythm to the music. Also if you watch the MAMA 2022 live performance they did Venom and Maniac in a more metal version.
Soo many good ones to watch!! Gods menu..back door...circus...
Felix's song "Deep end" is a must! ✨️ (+ it's in English)
Thank you guys so much ❤. Check out the Mama version if you want to see a Metal version. Also, another group to check out is definitely ATEEZ. You’ll love them. Check out their MV for Guerilla.
I love them. These guys are so amazing. I'm 53 and grew up with metal, grunge all great music and I'm so glad to be apart of this too
You gotta gotta gotta look up Red Lights lol I gotta see this reaction!
hi guys, i was thinking that in addition to FREEZE you might also like SIDE EFFECT ... I recommend them!!!
"Freeze" should be your next video...but honestly theres so many songs/videos you need to react to. Become a #STAY with us!!!!!
god, that thumbnail killed me-
next!:
GOD'S DU-DU-DU-DU (Stray Kids use Blackpink song for a remix for a famous live performance competition Kingdom),
spoiler alert - Stray Kids won the show ;)
You should hear charmer it's a banger
Straykids and Ateez are sharing the first place for me they both so unique in their own way
What I do is watch it once without the subtitles on so that I can focus on the video itself, and then I watch it again with subs on. It's worked well for me.
I agree with the language barrier. What I usually do for a first watch is watch a video with subtitles off to focus solely o the video and music then I watch it again with the lyrics on.
Please the Black Pink comparisons. StrayKids is proud of their odd original sounds. No comparisons to any groups please.
can i say eric i love all your glasses where your beer is in, can i have one!
They have a metal version of Venom!!!! Is their MAMA 2022 Performance Venom + Maniac
React to freeze of stray kids please
Chan produced this beat with the idea that it sounds like plucking a spiderweb! Also, I’m glad to hear the black pink appreciation. Stray kids are also huge blinks and sing their songs all the time! They even mixed their song Gods Menu with Blackpink’s Ddu Ddu :)
YES!!! STRAY KIDS ARE YOUNG AND SELF PRODUCED!!!!! MORE PLEASE!!
Mi Boyband de K pop favorita esta en mi top 10 de Artistas Asiaticos .
Am i the only one who always wait anxiously for felix line in each of there songs........
EVERY song
@@RykerroadMeg thank goodness I'm not the only one in this dilemma.
@@randomwonders7403 his voice is on another level!
Next you should definitely listen to „freeze“ or „super board“ - they are quite different to the songs you heard before!
thanks for reacting, love that you guys enjoy it too!
Well.....then you just have to watch it twice! Once for the words, then again for the visual! LOL!!! I love Stray Kids!!!!!!!
I really really hope you guys check them out coz believe me they were way ahead of their time back then and I'm more than sure you'll enjoy them
I've been around watching your reactions to all this kpop for a few months now and I love you guys!
They are the ones making writing producing all their music
You could always watch the video twice. Once through without lyrics and then again with the lyrics on
SUPER satisfying reaction, love this song so much!
Watch first without lyrics. Then, the second watch you turn them on. That's what many of us do.
eric's random giant beer chalices always get me haha
I think you'd love Easy, Miroh and then some of their experimental shit like Tortoise and the Hair. Also for deep, meaningful lyrics, Changbins solo song Streetlight is fire and actually made me cry.
You should react to Epik High - Rosario, very good song and amazing lyric
3:13 felt that on a spiritual level
What a lot of creators do when reacting to KPop videos, they watch the video first and react to it. Then go back and watch the subtitles and comment on things they might have missed. Maybe that can help later on
If you liked this one, then I’d react to “Freeze” by stray kids or “Case 143” also by stray kids if you haven’t already
Stray kids 🔥🔥🔥
