    Do you ever boss your back gutter on chimneys or do you alway weld them

    • @slbleadworks
      @slbleadworks  2 месяца назад

      I always weld them. I’ve only ever bossed a back gutter once. And that was at college during my apprenticeship.
      Thanks for watching.

    Would you always use a lap joint when welding or is there times when you use a butt joint ?

    • @slbleadworks
      @slbleadworks  3 года назад

      I would always try and do a lap joint

    Hey thanks for taking the time to share the video. I've been practicing as a bit of a hobby really. We had an old guy doing all our lead burning but he's retiring. I'm looking to get one some courses soon. Have you any tips or examples of vertical or angled welding? Cheers

    • @slbleadworks
      @slbleadworks  3 года назад +2

      Hay no worries. I’m planning on making a more in depth welding vid soon.
      But for now a tip I would give for vertical welding.
      Is to weld down from the top first. And then come back up. I find this so much easier than just coming straight up from the bottom.

      @@slbleadworks that would be great. I've been working on the flat welds and can get them spot on now, but still can't seem to get it right on the vertical welds. 👍
