I've spent my entire weekend (i.e. 3 hours Saturday and 2 Sunday 🤓) decluttering my bedroom and closet. TSD is my inspiration. I would stare at the clutter and think how long it would take to deal with it, turns out, just 5 hours.
I know you say it wasn’t a huge transformation visually but when you see the free spaces on the shelves it really was. Well done to your mam 👏 she really went through so much stuff and you for helping her get through it quicker and cheering her on. All the empty hangers was brilliant. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 👏💪👍🙏💐🦮
Thanks Mary! Those empty spaces really did feel good to see! I’m so excited for her final closet transformation! (It’ll be the last day of our declutter!)
I was just coming on here to say the same thing! It was a very dramatic change for the better, it looks so nice. I’m going to assume the shelves above the washer/dryer will need changing once a new stackable one is bought. I hope your parents can manage the task, maybe get some help.
My washer and dryer are 27 years old. My appliance repair person has advised me to keep repairing what I have VS replacing as the new items being sold are junk.
I love the idea of taking out everything from one drawer and only put back in what you love or need. It makes so much sense to me that I am actually asking myself why I haven't thought about that earlier.
Similar to what someone on another channel said,” Don’t think about everything that you have to get rid of, instead think about what you choose to keep.” I love this mindset!
How did your mom even exist under the weight of sooo much stuff! What a wonderful process to see her reborn and decluttering and being able to live a free life again. Good job, Mom & April.
I can actually answer this. As a nurse, we are hardly ever home. It's rare we get to fully understand how much stuff we even have because we barely ever get to see it. I'm a minimalist because I can't mentally cope with a lot of stuff or i feel like I'm dying XD It's OCD. But yeah, we do not know because we aren't home and when we are, we're napping or doing laundry,
I became a different type of consumer a year or two before the pandemic, I buy a lot less now. I have decluttered quite a bit but still more to go but it's inspirations seeing how far your Mum has come, in the short time that you have helped her. I'm really happy for her.
I love seeing the transformations over time, because it really takes years! I'm glad that you were able to make a change and start seeing the results. Keep going and you;ll feel so good!
I decluttered my clothes 4 years ago and my underwear drawers were seriously out of control! I was always buying new tights /pantihose as I couldn't find decent ones in the mess. Now it's all tidy and organised I haven't needed to buy new tights for 4 years, I'm just working my way through my stash!
Great declutter philosophy! Becoming a different kind of consumer is probably the hardest part, in need of intentional targeted strategies to avoid former habits.🧡
So happy for your mom to be clearing up so many spaces in her home! She is well on her way to being an independent spacemaker! 😃 So presh to see the pup lying across her lap as she worked. I'm sure he has your scent memorized now, too. Hope she is preparing her heart for when he has to say good bye! It is never easy.
I love that you reminded your mom to celebrate what she got done before moving onto the next thing, even though she was already thinking of the next thing, haha! Every step is important and she's doing an amazing job. Also, apparently the "just being there" thing is called body-doubling, and it even works virtually (The Minimal Mom has been talking about it recently) so maybe you can continue to help her from your new location when she needs a person "with" her!
I love how you're continuing to implement what you learned in Miami, I'm ordering the sneaker bag to keep in my son's closet, I'll declutter his shoes as he grows into it until it's full and send it off
Yes, I had that same washer and dryer set. They worked really well for approximately 30 years. I thought I would prefer a washer without the agitator, but I was wrong. I miss those simple machines because I don’t think these computerized versions with the sensors work as well. The changes you and your mother are making will be recognized and appreciated every time they walk into a room. Such strong, happy memories of your time with them-like a physical hug. Prayers for your safety in Korea 🙏🏻
They're safe :) You can find the regular style still. I think they're called the professional version. Mai Zimmy on here has a dryer that's newer but it's utilitarian.
Oh man, unfortunately they had to get a new water heater and now the machines don't fit. they block the door so you have to REALLY kick the door in to get inside which isn't practical. And then there was no where else to put them because they park in the garage 😵💫
I’m so proud of your mom. I have to admit this week’s episode was hard for me to watch. I’m so experienced at clothing decluttering from years of doing this for my family and friends. Last week I replaced my husband’s entire wardrobe after he recently lost 25lbs. He’s a completely new size and it was hard to just let some of his favorite things go. We kept a couple of jackets that he wasn’t ready to say goodbye to but it’s been fun to see him wearing his new clothes and I think he feels so much better in clothes that fit. Plus his space is so much easier to find what to wear. At first I couldn’t understand why your moms stuff was in the garage but now after your explanation I can see how she would want to change completely after work. So smart!
At my parents’ house, we have the same washer and dryer in avocado green! 🤣They are from the 80s and still work perfectly. They are real work horses. The newer ones, gorgeous and impressive as they are, seem to need replacing every 6 years or so. Loving this series. You two are really transforming these spaces!👏🏻❤️
@@SpaceMakerMethod LOL!! I remember the brown fridges too! My Aunt had one. So funny you had one too. 😂 Weirdly colored as they were, they were sure built to last!
That was such a lovely & realistic process!! Your mom is so cute & glad maybe she's a bit less camera shy now that she knows we all love her!! I thought the after was quite satisfying actually!
Your mom has caught the decluttering bug! Good for her. It's almost like she's been waiting to do something good for herself after so many years as a nurse looking out for us. I'm still enjoying the yellow "word boxes". Thanks April. LKMH
You can always donate your overload of socks and shoes to homeless shelters. Socks and gloves are something that are needed more than anything at those shelters.
Hi, I've been thoroughly enjoying watching this series with your Mum. It is interesting to me that you mentioned waste and the environment. When watching you and similar videos it is astounding to me how many plastic boxes, shelves, small and large that are used throughout the whole house. I mean no disrespect at all, I'm in Ireland and we don't do that at all. Is it an American/Canadian thing, or of a era? It just always startles me somewhat. Thank you and love to your Mum. Hope she's loving the new fresh house.
I do think it's pretty dramatic afterwards - the area feels calmer and more user-friendly - and that's worth its weight in gold! I love little pup laid out on Mama-April's lap enjoying the goings on 😊
Good job! I can't wait to see the final result. I am a fan of the old washer/dryer sets. I have similar ones. I prefer to have the set, because they work so well, and I use the space on top when I fold the laundry. I am also an RN not far from your mom's age. I do not have even 1/4 of the clothing/shoes/socks that your mom has. I still have more than I need, though. I try to be strict with myself, because I learned a long time ago, "my stuff is my stress." So my goal is to keep "the best of the best." To me, best of the best doesn't have to be the best brand, but rather the most comfortable, functional, or most meaningful. And having extra space allows me to bring in something new from time to time.
Interesting what you mentioned about having a different closet with nursing uniforms. Now, many of my nursing years (and presently) I changed into uniforms at the hospital. So I have clothes specifically for the trip to and from the clinic. Also, I have a "house uniform", classic gym pants/ t-shirts,long- and shortsleeved, everything in black and crisp looking. These I wear at home before or after a shift, which can be days, evenings or nights. Sounds complicated to others maybe, for me it works well. I have a limited amount of outfits for all other days. Keeping those categories in mind, that is how I have my closet organized.
Great video! My priority is always reducing the amount we are consuming, reusing what we can, then recycling the rest. Unfortunately many business do not take responsibility for the products they are making and what the end of their life cycle is like. Our recycling system is so broken here in the US, and it is more confusing when companies use shady greenwashing practices which makes knowing even harder as consumers. I think TerraCycle shows a big need we have and from what I understand they are legit, but it also allows many big companies advertise that they are “recyclable” but really this is difficulty and not accessible to many people. Anyway, LOVE your content and what you do ❤ looks great!
It is difficult to find legit recycling programs. Most are not transparent on what happens to the products you send. Often they’re sent to developing countries who don’t want our low quality, fast fashion junk and inevitably end up in their landfills. The best thing we can do is reduce our consumption.
When i relplaced my hangars with matching velvet ones, we took the wire ones to the dry cleaner & i listed the others on my local Buy Nothing group- quickly gone!
@@SpaceMakerMethod of course I enjoyed it 😊 I have binged your entire channel this week. I love your process it is so simple to understand and follow in my home.
Wow, I'm pretty sure your moms laundry area machines & supplies are a very close match to mine! I almost thought you were helping clean my area but when I went & checked.... my space was still over filled with stuff that you sorted in your mom's space! And yes, we even had those machines not too long ago! Haha!
Bless your mother for downsizing. I recently had a conversation with my dad where he wanted to know if some beer cans/bottles he's had since the 70s were worth anything. I told him it would be more work and trouble than what they are worth. I told him to just recycle them he said no, he would turn them into lamps. My dad has hard time letting go of anything!
I'm amazed at how skilled Space Maker Mom is at decluttering now! That was a significant improvement and she knows how to hone it down further, as she desires. There's just one thing I wish you would do, though...remove the manufacturer's stickers from those plastic drawer units! It's a pet peeve of mine, similar to leaving tags on pillows.
Washer Dryers!!! If those old ones are still in working order, I highly recommend you keep them. Front loading washer are an endless chore to keep smelling fresh and free of old moisture. Newer washer and dryer machines aren't made to withstand the test of time. I WISH I had an older top loading washer~
Those look like KENMORE washer and dryer set. I bought a similar set in 1987 when my son was born. I had them for 32 years! I gave them away to a lady in need and got another used set, but newer set. I also had a daughter. So, they were well used.
Great job. I also did the sock thing. I never folded them together and would just wear mix matched socks but then I realized after finally mating them, that I had more matches then I thought and can wear sets. seeing all the singles, which I put in a separate bag to see if I can find a mate in the future, but will get rid of them if I don’t. My brain was in a pretzel afterwards and it took awhile but now I don’t search in the drawer for a mate anymore.
I just had to replace my washer and dryer like that! I loved them so much! The ones I bought are ok but NOT nearly as good as my old ones! Prepare your mom!
I just love seeing your mom go through this, with her puppy by her side❤ she's doing a great job 👏. By the way, o already subscribed to your other chanel!
In terms of socks: I sorted them in different boxes. Example : Thick black booty socks, thin black long socks, white sneaker socks, blue seaker socks, black sneaker socks. One box with my extra thick sleeping socks. So I can easily find the perfect sock for my outfit in seconds.
That’s a great system… I’m curious, do you buy all of the same color or have patterns too? I use to buy crazy ones but now I realized I’m good with just the same colors for each type 😂 boring I know.
I have small baskets inside a bigger basket and each has the different kind of sock! So sleep socks wool socks the tough work boot socks knee high thin socks thigh high thick socks (basically tights without the cons of tights) ankle socks soft for loafers or mary jane types and then the thick white socks for sports shoes. And then i have a few silk stockings but i keep them as theyre so delicate in with my silks/lingerie drawer. Ive found this system works really well too! If i had drswers id keep them in there but alas i have a WIR with the horrible giant useless shelves of 4 that are total space wasters and shoe everything plus who only has 4 types of clothes that arent hung?! Like damn my basket of towels and my basket of linens/bedsheets take up 2 shelves! So yeah in order not to see everything which i hate i got those water hycinth laundry baskets which are firm but flexible and smell amazing plus way more sustainable to use a water weed than plastic etc and has the bonus of putting of moths etc and they easily slide in and out like drawers and then thats why i have little baskets inside to seperate socks and undies but also micro organise and utilise the space way better! But mostly i just hang everything i can even purses and hats and jewellery before i got proper storage for them and graduated from costume jewellery teen to real jewellery adult lol. And fold all my winter wool knits and delicate stuff and when you hang everything its waaay nicer especially if done when theyre straight off the line or even when wet and hung to dry as no ironing or steaming needed and putting away laundry is super easy with drawers with dividers or baskets as you dont need to fold stuff. Anyway yeah i love finding people who do the same/similar. I cant remember my clutterbug style it was like closer to a decade ago i did the test on clutter bug youtube channel but im pretty sure im a ladybug and bee. But basically i NEED minimal and i need out of sight stuff thats all matchy matchy and not clear bins i cant handle seeing stuff or visual clutter and then i have micro categories inside the macro ones AND labels! Everything has a home clear surfaces id rather my place look sterile than busy. Haha. Like im the sort of person who when i owned a television had it inside an antique cabinet with doors i could close and lock and not have to see an electronics or cords or bleh. Are there any tips or things youre really proud of or have worked well for you? Im always looking for more efficiency and calm in all things and its hard to find true info on tips AFTER youre already a minimalist and such as most stuff is geared toward people who are closer to clutterbug/hoarder/packrats and are obvious like dont have a drawer of 40 different lids of mismatched tupperware etc. One thing ive loved and havent sen mwntioned is having 2 laundry hampers per bedroom or person and one is for whites and one for colours so you sort as you put it in the hamper like dirty clothes go straight in their hamper so their not sorting old dirty clothes its just what you just wore and then tip the whole thing in the washing machine very no fuss and massive time saver. On that note i also picked my neutral colour for my home as white pure bright white think mount olympus greco roman vibes and so all my bathroom linens and bedroom linens are white so towels sheets pillowcases everything and so since i change those all once a week minimum then theyre bulky and my most laundered stuff so that makes laundry super simplified too. And i only have 1 darks/colour and 1 lights/white load a week and my sleep shirts i just bought the same white mens like xxxl shirt to be my sleep dress nightie chemise thing all season fitting 100% cotton so unless i go out majority of my house clothes are white too. Even my apron is. Its great.
I’m so proud of your mom and love seeing all of these victories! Recycling question: I’ve just begun a new medication which is delivered to my home in a chilled container. I live in a rural area in Eastern Canada and am wondering if there are any suggestions for recycling or responsibly disposing of the non-toxic cold packs that chill the shipped meds. They will be stacking up here pretty soon (I get four more every shipment). Thanks in advance for any ideas!
If they can be refrozen ask your local schools or daycare if they could use them. Little ones are always getting injuries. If they can’t be reused they most likely are garbage. Depending on the outer package you may be able to cut off a corner and squeeze the gel into the garbage, then rinse and recycle the plastic layer.
My dad got his meds the same way,I sold all of the ice packs in my yard sale for 50 cents each, one of the first things to go. One women said she put the frozen packs when she left food for her neighbor and didn’t care if she got these back.
Hi April, been reading about the mischief North Korea is into right now. Hope you are safe and that this doesn't escalate into something else! Hope you all are well and settling in.
@@SpaceMakerMethod I often think why can't everyone just stay in their own backyard and leave their neighbors in peace. What a great world we would have.
You did! And she’s actually doing great! I really don’t know how…. JT I think she can sense that she’s from Korea because she’s so much better behaved here and she seems to be so happy and comfortable. It really makes us feel happy to see it. 💛
Could you treat the extra socks like back stock in a separate box…. So you have say 12 pairs that are in the drawer to be used every week, and when you wear through those you replace it with a back stock pair. That way you don’t have a 100 pairs in your day to day draw all gradually at the same level of warn out? That way when your mum opens her sock draw every day she isn’t overwhelmed with loads of pairs. I have 8 pairs of trainer socks (which I use in summer), 8 pairs of ankle socks (mostly for winter), and 4 pairs of novelty socks in my drawer. I find with that number I wear through them in about 6 months (I walk a lot)…. So each winter I buy some more ankle socks, and each spring I buy more trainer socks. It means I never have to deal with a full drawer of socks, matching them is easy, and as I do washing once a week I never run out. Having done this for a few years I think I could even deal with less socks than this. I also have one of those draw organisers with the little alcoves for each pair of socks, so I can see how many I have and if I’m running low (from throwing them out), it also stops me from buying more I don’t need. Fabric recycling in the UK is really easy. Some of our charity shops take clothes for recycling, but also M&S and H&M and I think a few other brands have boxes in their store you can just dump the fabric in (it doesn’t have to be from their store originally). Some of the shops even give you money off vouchers when you bring in a bag of recycling. For other items there are rubbish tips where you can bring things to recycle, or public libraries will take small electrical waste and batteries etc. And often in the car parks of supermarkets there will be recycling bins. The Uk is nowhere near as good at recycling as the rest of Europe, but it has defiantly improved over the last 10 years.
My Daughter is a nurse to, She has a lot of clothes also She says because she wears her uniform 12 hours a day When she gets home she likes to wear Something pretty
Loool when i saw the sock bag i was suprised someone else had this problem too! When i dated my husband in college and I cleaned his messy dorm room and i filled the equivalent of two full bags with SOCKS.... I asked him why he had so many socks and he said he couldn't find them....
The new washer and dryers are complete trash. Don’t get rid of those well made gems! If you insist on new, speed queen is the only thing worth buying. From someone whose had 4 crappy machines in 15 years.
Great work! Some extra places you can donate sneakers is DSW and Adidas stores. They take wearable shoes and donate them. Also, H&M says they recycle clothes and fabric, and give you a 15% off coupon for doing so.
Hi Don’t get rid of your washer and dryer If they still work The new ones are irritating most of the time not straight forward You might have regrets I miss my old stackable It was 18 years old
I have never had very many clothes I guess so I don’t understand how anyone accumulates this many clothes. I have watched enough videos to understand that it is very normal but it is so different from my reality that I am floored
I suspect many cases like this aren’t from excessive buying but just never going through and getting rid of. Also I’ve never had many clothes either but for me finding good fit in my size
Well when they’re hospital changed hands she had to switch to a completely different scrub which was unfortunate. But she’s been nursing for over 45 years so she’s got a bunch!
It doesn’t take new ownership even new management who decide all of this specialty will wear purple or whatever. I’ve seen places like orthodontist who all change colors with seasons or holidays. Buying new isn’t always a choice of one’s own
I’m so happy for your Mom🎉. I’m excited to see everything organized and how it gets organized. Question: will your Dad declutter? My husband always says to me I need to downsize but he’s the least likely 😂. I’m a maximalist but I am super organized and clean . I also do clear out things I won’t use or need. Hope all is well in Korea ~ Janet 😘
He will...ish. It has to be on his own terms and he's not as ready to let things go as she is. It's a challenging balance at the moment and hoping he steps over to our side soon!
I’m sure I heard April say “Dad’s sneakers in trash can”. Has Space Maker Dad caught a small case of decluttering? Wanted to point out for all commenters the last couple weeks about closet situation and undone boxes

I'm glad you've found a system that works for you!
I really love your point about being a different type of consumer.
💛 It's all part of the process!
Love it! Sounds like you really created a system that works for you!
My Sunday morning ritual…never disappoints 🤍
Yay! That makes me so happy!! See you soon!
That was a nice start !! She did great !! The 1st pass is always the hardest. See you next time 😀
Can't wait! See you Sunday!
Love this series and I’m always disappointed when the video ends. You’re a talented designer and a great editor.
Thank you so much!!
I see the difference. Great job.
yay!!! others said the same.. perhaps I was just in the editing world to long and lost sight of hte end change!
@@SpaceMakerMethod I have 5 more boxes for donations...thanks for inspiration
I would love to see a gimpse of your '98 Christmas
You Mom is doing such a good job, letting go of things is coming so much easier for her ❤️
So much easier! The second pass declutter is where it's at .
Wonderful!! Progress not perfection., she did so good 👏👏👏🥰
thanks for watching Hannah!
I used to have that washer/dryer set- I wish I still did! Appliances seem to fall in the category of “they sure don’t make things like they used to”.
Haha, that's what I've been hearing in the comment section!
You two did another fantastic job xx
Thanks Tessa!!
I don’t think I have ever been more excited for a new video 🥰
That makes me so happy to hear! Hope you enjoy this one!
Haha!
Wouldn't it be great if watching declutter videos was the same as the work getting done for us 🤪It would be so fun!
This is the most dramatic!!! Love it! What a great transformation 👏
Thanks for watching this week, Cathy!
When you see that 4 bags are leaving the garage - that's a lot of work. No the space isn't done but that's ok. Great progress.
Thanks For saying that Evelyn! You’re so right… the progress was definitely in that haul!
The baby in her lap❤️❤️❤️
Isn't he so sweet!? He never wants to be without her.
YAY, this was huge, it will have a great impact om your mom's daily life! Lots of love to you and your mom. :)
I hope so!
Thank you for the sneaker info!!! This is great!!!!!
Yes!
Loving this series! I look forward to it each Sunday.❤
I don't want the series to end!
Deb here. The don't make washers like that anymore. I would not get rid of it. The new ones have computers on them and do not last as long.
What great investment pieces these were!
I SO FEEL you on this.
Way to go
I'm amazed at how skilled Space Maker Mom is at decluttering now! That was a significant improvement and she knows how to hone it down further, as she desires. There's just one thing I wish you would do, though...remove the manufacturer's stickers from those plastic drawer units! It's a pet peeve of mine, similar to leaving tags on pillows.
haha! Yours and a few others 🤣.
Well done on today's declutter. 👏
Pls be safe in SK!
Thanks Laura! And we will be 💛
As a nurse, my shoes NEVER entire my house. my scrubs/ work clothes are off the MINUTE I get home. I put my shoes on outside too.
I have the same washer and dryer! Still going strong after almost 30yrs!
That is really impressive!
It looks so much lighter already! You managed to find a lot that could go :) very enjoyable to watch xxx
I'm glad you could see the change!
You could suggest dryer balls to avoid toxic dryer sheets and save money and space as well as soap berries or magnesium balls for washing clothes.
That's such a great idea! Love my dryer balls so much taht I brought them on our move.
That paper that was dissolving in her hand was laundry detergent.
I did that same thing as a kid. It's amazing how that little change can create such a calmer moment in the morning.
Laundrys are wanting to get wire hangers back. I heard there is a shortage on those.
I just had to replace my washer and dryer like that! I loved them so much! The ones I bought are ok but NOT nearly as good as my old ones! Prepare your mom!
that has been a recurring comment. 😮
As a short person, I think, just lowering the closet rod will help with daily maintenance.
Get rid of the large pile of extra hangers!
they're going to come in a redo the garage soon, so I'll be sure to mention that to them! Good idea!
I’m so proud of your mom. Even though she and I like similar items I don’t keep a lot. I go they and declutter at least once a month.
I love having regular declutters! It's amazing how much can add up in a short time.
Love the sock hoard hehe :)
🤪
Thank you🎉.I'm doing my moms now
Oh good lukc!!
Great job, ladies! Good job, mom! Keep up the good work!👍🥰💜
thank yoU!
I just love seeing your mom go through this, with her puppy by her side❤ she's doing a great job 👏.
By the way, o already subscribed to your other chanel!
Oh yay! Thank you so much! It's been tofun to have a separate space to share more of life there! Thank you!!!!!!!!
Your mom is doing a great job!!
I think so too!
Good morning!!
Good morning!!!!
Your mummy is a bit of a hoarder 😊
She has some tendencies 🤪 I think she'll say that it came from growing up so poor and holding onto everything they had.
Its great.
@@SpaceMakerMethod I only heave socks without patterns and the colours I mentioned above are the only colours I wear.
more stuff gone! yay!! 👍👍👍
PROGRESS!
@@sheila3936 Thanks very much!
Thanks Judith! It seems to always be at its worst whenever we move to Korea 😳. Hopefully things will die down soon. Thanks for thinking of us 💛
@@SpaceMakerMethod I often think why can't everyone just stay in their own backyard and leave their neighbors in peace. What a great world we would have.
How is Izzy doing?
Hope I got the kitties name right!
You did! And she’s actually doing great! I really don’t know how…. JT I think she can sense that she’s from Korea because she’s so much better behaved here and she seems to be so happy and comfortable. It really makes us feel happy to see it. 💛
Good job 😊
thanks for watching this week, Elaine!
Maybe you’ve answered this in other videos but what do you do with t decluttered hangers? I’m starting to wonder what to do with my own!
We've found that salvation army will usually take them!
I LOVE your back stock idea!
Everyone needs a schnauzer declutter buddy!
💛
My Daughter is a nurse to, She has a lot of clothes also She says because she wears her uniform 12 hours a day When she gets home she likes to wear Something pretty
I can completely understand that!
Oh mami. Nobody needs that many clothes. Nobody. With much love ❤️.
Great work! Some extra places you can donate sneakers is DSW and Adidas stores. They take wearable shoes and donate them. Also, H&M says they recycle clothes and fabric, and give you a 15% off coupon for doing so.
Those are great resources I need to add to my list, thank yoU!
Did that sweet doggo get a haircut?! 😍😍
You noticed! He did get a little beard trim!
Hi
Don’t get rid of your washer and dryer
If they still work
The new ones are irritating most of the time not straight forward
You might have regrets
I miss my old stackable
It was 18 years old
Others have said the same. 🥺
I have never had very many clothes I guess so I don’t understand how anyone accumulates this many clothes. I have watched enough videos to understand that it is very normal but it is so different from my reality that
I am floored
I suspect many cases like this aren’t from excessive buying but just never going through and getting rid of. Also I’ve never had many clothes either but for me finding good fit in my size
Same
I think so too. Decades of accumulating and not decluttering.
For one lady, she owns enough clothes for 12 nurses😂
Well when they’re hospital changed hands she had to switch to a completely different scrub which was unfortunate. But she’s been nursing for over 45 years so she’s got a bunch!
It doesn’t take new ownership even new management who decide all of this specialty will wear purple or whatever. I’ve seen places like orthodontist who all change colors with seasons or holidays. Buying new isn’t always a choice of one’s own
She could make a t-shirt quilt.
And that's a very texan thing to do, too!
Your mom did a great job pairing down her clothes.
She's officially the Space Maker!💛
I would not buy a new washer and dryer. The new ones are notorious for breaking down quickly and costly to fix. If they wash and dry keep them.
They don’t make as good of ones anymore 😫
I’m so happy for your Mom🎉. I’m excited to see everything organized and how it gets organized. Question: will your Dad declutter? My husband always says to me I need to downsize but he’s the least likely 😂. I’m a maximalist but I am super organized and clean . I also do clear out things I won’t use or need. Hope all is well in Korea ~ Janet 😘
He will...ish. It has to be on his own terms and he's not as ready to let things go as she is. It's a challenging balance at the moment and hoping he steps over to our side soon!
I think your Mom is a bit of a hoarder!
Oh, no! Don't replace working older appliances. Modern appliances only last 4-6 years.
that's what I've heard after reading through the comments 🥺
Does consignment really pay? I have not seen very many shops these days.
Not much, but a little depending on what you have. If you like to trade items in the store you can usually find some good deals.
🙏
💛 thanks for watching!
I’m sure I heard April say “Dad’s sneakers in trash can”. Has Space Maker Dad caught a small case of decluttering? Wanted to point out for all commenters the last couple weeks about closet situation and undone boxes
haha, you're right!
I love how you’re helping your mom. It’s so realistic and motivating! I bought a new washer/dryer last week and had to remove everything and clean the LR. Putting back only what’s needed is such a freeing feeling every time I walk in there. 😊
the best feeling!
