I profoundly admired Gilda Radner. I have never forgotten her.
I am 56, and as a little girl I did my own skits of Rosanna Rosanna Danna!😊
She was perfect!!
He was born without a spine... It was just a matter of time... 😂 😂
The guy who invented the smiley face in Worcester during an advert convention ma never trademarked it so someone else did and he got zilch..
This was when we all stayed up in the dorm and watched as a communal experience. Those were the days. It was always funnier to watch with a group.
Pot was never involved. :)
I was a child then but my older sister and I would stay up and watch it on her small black and white TV.
Yes. Same.
Yes! Order pizza, make some nachos, and SNL.
Same here, I had the only TV on my dorm floor and had a full house every Saturday night. Alcohol was never involved either....
They didn't have to look at the cue cards like they do now. They knew their lines and improvised well too. Miss them.
this is so sweet - the chemistry was great, the humor gentle - ah, the old days...
This is my favorite Gilda Radner character, her voice cracks me up!
"You're so immatuuure" cracks me up.
This one and when She played the little kid Judy Miller. Makes me LMAO.
I love the representation between a mother and daughter actually supporting and caring for one another, im sick of the enemies cliches because that cliche is not always true.❤
Brings back so many memories. When SNL was good! I miss those days
Me too….I never watch it anymore
Lisa and Todd will always be funny. Gilda was just gold.
Buck Henry’s laugh is everything!
THANKS! I was scanning comments to find his name mentioned. OMG Buck Henry - I wonder if he's still alive. Nope - he died @ 89 in 2020. A long life.
OMG!! One of the best SNL sketches ever!! Tang! I wish they would post the one where Lisa and Todd "make out". Hysterical!!
RIP Buck (last January) and Gilda!
'lovely house coat Mrs. Lubner.'
I absolutely love Gilda, so extremely gifted and beyond comical and funny, she can never be replaced 💯👏🏻🤍🤍
Such wholesome humor! The early years with the original SNL cast in my opinion were the BEST! The many characters they created were priceless. So talented. Gilda was my favorite. RIP dear lady. Now that the real BA BA WA WA has passed I hope you both meet in heaven.
The Not Ready for Prime Time Players were waaaaaaaaaay before their time
Not so sure what is so wholesome about band-aids on mosquito bites.
@@MickSupper how old are you ? if you're young the joke flew over your head like a jet plane if older you lack a sense of humor
@@michaellorenzen8200 I never said anything about it being funny or not, I said there's nothing wholesome about it. And no, it wasn't funny.
She's probably in heaven in a hot tub with Hugh downs and now Henry kissinger can join them and it can be reported on 20/20 my Bad that's Cheri Oteri
The housecoat, classic 70’s wardrobe!
"Since we seem to be handing out compliments, that's a stunning housecoat you're wearing, Mrs. Lubner."
This is like a tiny time capsule of the American experience in the 70s. It's funny to see how times have changed in only 40 years.
"only 40 years" okayy
What do you think has changed the most? Based on this skit.
I prefer the original Not Ready for Prime Time players.
@@elizabethcosslett8937 Remember kissing hello? Shaking hands? Standing close together? :) I miss those things!
@@BeLoud13 The kissing hello thing always got me in trouble with strangers ;)
I always wished Lisa and Todd would get married. They would make each other laugh. Her marriage to Gene Wilder sounds like it was like that.
Man! I miss THIS SNL. But I miss Gilda more. 💖
She dead?
Alex Marquettiukn. she died in 1989
These two were comedic geniuses!
Oh my god my mom says "forty lashes with a wet noodle"
His pants were killing me. Lol
70s pants!
This was so wholesome
10/10 highly recommend
I saw this for the first time when I was 20, about ten years ago, and yeah, my first thought was "Oof. Sad people." But now that I'm quite a bit older I think "I'd love to he Lisa." Lol
She's so sweet, she can laugh at herself, she accepts everyone (including herself) for who they are, she doesn't let looks define anyone in her own mine, she's funny, she's got an amazing mother. I mean, what a fantastic character. Wish they still made skits like this one.
Oh my god the dad said John Ravolta! 😵
Piemaster927 he’s lived up to that name hahahaha!
A lot of the old people weren’t Travolta fans.
jane curtin who plays gilda's mother is actually one year younger than gilda lol
The times Buck Henry hosted were always the best! It was guaranteed you’d get a Samurai sketch and at least one sketch they could never get away with today (I.e. Uncle Roy the babysitter)
Uncle Roy!!
Oh wow! I forgot about uncle Roy! Sshhh! Don’t say it too loud though. They’re canceling folks all the way back to the caveman era right now.
IDK why but this somehow makes me sad ;'(
Pity for nerds perhaps :/
It makes me think of a simpler more innocent time.. idk what it is but a prom today seems more fake.. is it just me?
me too, no one could be sweeter than Gilda by a long shot
Valerie Young
Go Fuck yourself snowflake
Thomas Schneider Shut up.
love Gilda she was so talented .
This is truly hilarious 😂. It’s much better than SNL now a days.
SNL AT ITS ZENITH!!!!
After all these years got to love Bill Murray
I love Todd and Lisa. These were the days!!
When SNL was funny.
Yeah when Gilda Radnor was alive ..
I still can't believe Buck Henry portrayed the aggressive Colonel Korn in Catch-22. He was a good actor
Buck Henry as bill Murray's dad.
Made to order.
Love the tugging on pants too funny.
1981 sophomore in college. We all watched as a group of friends, then walked down the sidewalk to the bar afterwards, and just enjoyed life
John Revolta watch out, LOL. Today's SNL doesn't compare to this and never will.
RIP, the GREAT GILDA❤❤❤❤
Lisa and Todd got married and made each other joyful until this present day!
Bill Murray's pants are so high in the waist it cracks me up!😅
OMG the waistbands of their slacks. hahahahaha
Ha ha I watched this live on TV when I was a kid brings back. Good memories I miss you, Gilda.
It was so much better than it is today
Probably the last time these skits were actually really original and funny.
I was waiting for the "that's so funny I forgot to laugh!"
These two women are comedy icons Love them
His pants are so high. 😂
Gilda was a treasure.
Love the old shows… haven’t watched SNL for years
Feel like Brian Doyle-Murray was an inspiration for this character
Man mayonnaise? Lol!!
Love this skit. They all had sinus trouble.
I hear a little Carl Spackler from Caddyshack in Bill's character.
ANY NEW DEVELOPMENTS???? OH I GUESS NOT.😂❤🎉
Timeless. Classic. We are all nerds.
I LOVE JOE !!!
Why was the actual video footage of Lisa Loopner's performance of "The Way We Were" taken down?
Gilda ❤️🙏🏾
The best years of SNL
High school in the late 70s always included lines from the latest, popular SNL sketch.
This was always my favorite reoccurring skit on SNL back in the day.
Tang! Hilarious
"I know I'll never forget my senior prom, the theme was 'From Here to Fraternity'."
"Our theme is 'Close Encounters of the Prom Kind'."
My senior prom theme was Legend of Zelda 😂
Mine was Stairway to heaven like everyother Highschool in 77
my senior prom theme was... I don't know... I never went.
hijhiysonikku me too
“Any new developments?”
He was born without a spine. Just a matter of time.
GILDA was brilliant!
Noogie patrol!!
Tang...lol
SNL today can’t do a skit without reading it the whole time there eyes are on the Q cards
I love me some Bill
Can you still buy Tang? 🤔
yes
SOME MADE IT TO THE SMITHSONIAN AND TOM STAFFORD OF APOLLO 17, LEFT SOME IN THE LUNAR ROVER
Soul Brother#1 You can use Tang to clean your toilet.
I loved Tang
Only if some dip×+@# has not hoarded it already.
He was born without a spine…..OMG
Nerds in school usually becomes the bosses of the cool kids when fast forward 15 years.
And no teleprompters.
When SNL was great!
Ouch this is painful. 😝 LOL 😂
When SNL was funny. Not throwing politics in your face
U haven‘t seen a whole Full Episode of the classic, am i right? Coz they had a lot of political stuff too.. Why do u think this show was so talked about not? Not just coz it‘s a funny show lmao
* True there was always political humor but now it is just week after week of mean spirited bashing of a prez we don't like anyway and his lame staff. ♣
@@WytZox1 Right. It's lazy writing to just bash a leader. Get creative, writers.
Notice they didn't ever seem to have to look at cue cards? Now, they can't seem to say a single line without reading from their cue cards (or teleprompters). The only times their eyes stray from them is in between lines.
I love National Lampoon Live
Do you have access to the skit with the same characters but with Steve Martin playing Chas the Spazz. they're at the school science fair and steve martin builds an atomic bomb. I can never seem to find the one.
...Marvin Hamlish...
Lmao
Wow. I remember this skit!
NURDS!!!!
78 was the year I graduated and I still watched snl.
yep that's bill murray
It was the best comedy on TV. SNL is not the same.
Two things: Do they still make ''Tang?" And do you notice that in the background? It's the audience. They're really laughing. Not like today's SNL show. Nothing is funny with SNL now
You might be able to find Tang at Walmart or Target as far as the new SNL I have tried watching it a few times it actually made me nauseous stay healthy my friend
Tang definitely still exists. I don’t know where to buy it, but it’s always at my in-law’s house. Though I never see anyone drink it.....
@@CluelessTheLlama13 ...Tanks a lot!
Gilda❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Loved Gilda Radnor as Roseanne Rosannadanna!!! RIP 🙌
@@bettyannsmith5267 BAba Wawa 😆
Todd's pants that came up to his arm pits.....there are no words to describe how funny that is!!!
And the pencils in the hanky pocket - no nerd touch left untaken.
Old SNL madness was the Best times ever!! You could laugh on your worst Days
God bless you, Gilda. You continue to inspire so many.
You know you're old when you can remember when SNL was funny.
Amen.😂
It was funny in the 90's as well.
Wow. You must be old.
@@dianadurr-ramsey567 I agree, I stopped watching it in 90's
“We aren’t old. We are recycled teenagers.” 😊
"The man supplies the mayonnaise.".... that killed me.
SHE WAS REMAKABLE ! I STILL MISS HER EVEN TODAY. 💙🙏
Jane & Gilda. Two performers of staggering brilliance and genius. And they vibe like a mum & daughter.
I’m not sure how many times they’d played these characters up to this point. At least a couple, so they had time to flesh out their roles. Perfect vibes for sure.
Gilda doesn’t get nearly the credit she deserves for being a brilliant physical comedian. From the first 20 seconds of the sketch, you can tell she puts everything into her performance. Her facial expressions and movements are hilarious! Every female comedy sketch performer owes her a debt of gratitude. She put so much warmth and joy into all of her characters. Thank you for all the laughs, Gilda❤️
Agreed 💯! I noticed the way she shuffles over to and up the stairs after Todd rings the bell. She’s totally in character. Warmth and joy indeed!
I can say is, my sons grew up on SNL, and watch to this day, as I've been watching from the first!! 😂❤
Gilda's the bar by which all other SNL females are judged by, one of the original Not Ready For Prime Time Players. RIP GR.
She was amazing and my comedy hero. So sad when she died.
Forever Gilda Radner.
God bless Gilda, for all the happiness she brought, to millions of people.
Bill & Gilda had a great chemistry together. Their skits were always wonderful.
Oh, yes! There's a certain special something in the air whenever they play off each other.
Legend has it, Bill, Gilda, and Gene Wilder partook in three ways
Weren’t they dating then.
Yes. They were in love. Look at the other clip of Lisa' felt sweater.
Didn't he abuse her in their relationship?
Todd and Lisa are iconic! The Lupner’s skits were brilliant!
I miss those old SNL shows!
