Chuck E Cheese looks like it was so much bigger back then. And the animatronics' animation looks better too. I miss the days when people actually cared about what they were creating instead of just making money.
+Scámarca Productions Atari founder Nolan Bushnell founded Chuck E. Cheese in San Jose,CA in July 1977. In August 1979, he planned on expanding Pizza Time Theater,Inc into a public trading brand with Chains all across America, so he met businessman Robert Brock. Soon after, Bushnell left Warner Communications and resigned his chair at Atari,Inc, an attempt to acquire new investors, but in early 1980, due to Bushnell leaving Warner Communications, Brock decided to break his business deal and start his own chain in the Midwest opening the First Showbiz Pizza Place in Kansas City. It was an instant success and grew faster than Chuck E Cheese. In June 1982, Showbiz Pizza Time relocated to Irving,TX near Dallas to get away from Tornado Alley. On May 1,1984, during the Video Game Crash of 1983-1984, Bushnell sold off Pizza Time Theater to Showbiz Pizza Time,Inc who then helped run both chains successfully. On September 4,1989, Showbiz Pizza Place, Inc begin public trading, and begin to dissolve its Showbiz label. By February 1991, half the original locations across the East Coast and Midwest(until 1989, most Chuck E. Cheeses were West Coast and Gulf Coast exclusive) were restructured into Chuck E. Cheese. By September 1993, All Showbiz chains were Chuck E. Cheese. In May 1997, Showbiz Pizza Place officially was dissolved into CEC Entertainment,Inc. By then, Showbiz itself was pretty much defunct.
It was way bigger back in the day. The CEC in San Diego (National City) was a big circle of theaters and games. It was way different back in the days!!! Better.

I agree. Now, they're in disrepair, also with horrible plastic cosmetics; they also make too much click-clack sounds. The animatronics shown in this video seem to be in MUCH better shape and condition. I wish Chuck E. Cheeses like this were still around. That would be fun!
Exactly how I remember it! Even have pics with that Chuck on my fifth birthday at the showroom tables! Such a cool ad!! It was so dimly lit like that with that eery vibe. I recall weird feet dangling down and dancing to the music? Wish they showed the beach bowsers! I knew the bowsers songs before The Beach Boys And always expected their “doglike” lyrics when the songs came on the radio😂👌🏼

I miss those days of watching the band while I ate pizza. Chuck E Cheese used to be great back then and I remember the prizes being great too. Todays Chuck E Cheese sucks and the band is being removed from all locations & going to be replaced with a light up dance floor.
If only I were around at this time, I probably would’ve enjoyed Foxy Colleen. Plus the old animatronics’ insults towards one another were actually kinda funny
Showbiz Pizza changed their name to Chuck E. Cheese's years after they had bought the original Pizza Time Theater. The name "Chuck E. Cheese" was just too well known so they changed to the more recognizable name despite no longer being the original "Chuck E Cheese".

OMG I remember this!!! I remember going to Chuck E. Cheese when they had these animatronics!! I always thought it was SOOOO Creepy! Thank You for posting this!!!!!!
Chuck E. Cheese's used to rule when I was a kid. The first one opened up in my neighborhood back in 1982. Chuck E. Cheese's was already a shithole in 1987. They tore down the inside walls, got rid of almost all the video games and replaced them with kiddie rides that would have appealed to toddlers at most. I've never been there since.
I remember Dolly Dimples, but at the time I didn't remember her name...I was 5 then, lol. I do remember King becoming King Cat, a Michael Jackson-lookalike. The CEC that used to be in my area had two floors; the main floor had CEC and the gang, and the upper floor were Dolly and King Cat
When I was like 6 I had my birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's. My friends chased around the guy in the Chuck E Cheese costume... GOOD. The animatronics were super ugly and scary. Pretty much why Five Nights at Freddy's is scary.... I kept staring at the animatronics because I thought that they were going to get off the stage and kill everybody. What a coincidence... D:
Usually whenever a show starts all the lights turn off in the showroom and theres tons of lights focusing on the characters therefore giving them attention. If only this were still here today...

@honor21221able Hello! Not sure if you mean characters like Dolli Dimples, The King, and the Beagles, or the 5 main characters. Right now the 5 main characters are still present in the showtapes, and even in artwork. Most locations now have a one robot show called Studio C which features JUST Chuck. However, the other characters still interact with Chuck via "Satellite". LOL...
The old Chuck E. Cheese pizza was God Tier. Everything about the old Chuck E. Cheese's was superior in every way. Dozens of well kept arcade cabinets, battle royale at the bottom of the 6ft ball pits, 8 year olds street fighting underneath thew stage in the cheese holes (where adults were too large to enter and break it up)... If someone remakes the old Chuck E. Cheese for adults, I'll be there every day spending money.

Timothy Mestizo Never mind...it's like tasting spaghettio's without the o's on a crust with cheese. Now as much as I do love spaghettio's but cheap "tomato" sauce is definitely not something I'd want to taste on a crust as a pizza.
I just went to one close to me, u were right. the pizza wasn't that good. but their was another one a bit more far from where I live, they made the pizza way better then I was thinking. heck they even kept the old robots. but of course I'm to old to go their now... so yeah
