It's been seven months since your comment so just curious if you started to play? I knew immediately as soon as I picked up a guitar when I was 17 (now I am 37) that it was going to become a new passion and in many ways it changed my life. Or at least, changed my finances and also made sure that no matter where I lived the one common thing when I moved out of somewhere was holes in the walls patched up from the wall hangers LOL.
This is the first time I have seen your build, I sit here realizing I'm tired of buying and selling my guitars from dissatisfaction always believing it's that particular guitar from the manufacture that I prefer being Fender Stratocaster I recently heard another custom built Walnut Strat and the tone was the sound zi seek and un able to get, tried a few amps and again just frustrated with the sound I'm looking for. I loved your selection of background music seems your a man of few words at least from this video, I like your work, thank you
Hi Doug, thank you so much. One thing I've learnt over the years of playing around with guitars is that the wood type on an electric guitar makes very little to no difference of tone. From my experience it always comes down to the player, the setup of the guitar, the pickups and the amp. I think people love the sound of strats because of the single coil pickups. I'm working on a custom stray style build at the moment and can't wait to get it finished :)
Even having been told for years that wood doesn't = tone on electrics with a beauty like that one it does make you wonder. But I will say relaxing no lol I was a nervous wreck. Lol What a prize. Congrats. G
@@morganoguitars2213 hi iam emad from egypt can you help me with printed file to mack the body and neck and templats >>>i know it is stubid question but
I adore natural walnut bodies. The gold hardware and amber position markers set it off beautifully. I'm really impressed with the work you did without some of the standard table machines. Really enjoyed this build video. Keep up the great work!
I definitely contemplated doing the gold many times before the build. I was worried it might be a bit over the top but I'm very happy with the result :) thank you
Thanks for sharing yur knowledge.... may u be blessed bro... I play de upright bass in Ghana (Africa) nd would love to learn to build instruments one day.... de world needs more of yu to make it a better place ... bless
That is amazing. I would love to do project like this but always wonder if I would be able to get the neck adjustment right. Is there a way to start training to do project like this? Maybe assemble a warnoth guitar already cut and prepared before starting from scratch? Maybe books as well that would be useful? Thank you. Of note I like to work with wood but I’m not a orofessional.
I wish you hadn't put a battery on the body while gluing it. That type of added weight, if unsupported on the bottom, can bake a "bow" into the wood, and it can also cause the wood to separate many years later. You could remedy that by putting something underneath that supports the weight of the battery which would solve all of those problems.
Thank you :) I know, they're both upside down. I tried it both ways and just preferred the look of the rings being that way because it looks nicer when it follows the string angle. It also means when I adjust the pickup height, that they are on a similar angle to the strings. Just a personal preference on this one I guess :)
Ok, so now I want to make my own guitar. I’m sick of buying guitars and over hauling them. You did a great job. I hope to make one of my own someday soon.
Thanks Jim :) I cut the sticker on a vinyl cutter with some gold vinyl and then once it was stuck on the black basecoat on the headstock, it was cleared over with some gloss clearcoat. I unfortunately didn't record a lot of that part.
Awesome construction technique and final result!!! I'd love to try one!! Just one suggestion: for the final test video be sure the guitar is properly tuned....!!
There really is no wrong or right way up as it depends on the body shape and curvature. I placed it that way so that it adjusts up and down evenly at the same angle as the strings :)
I am not sure but guitar body does not have a protective layer. Do you know how strong these unpainted guitars performs in terms of durability? Do they scratch easier than multiple coated guitars? I am not experienced with guitars, I am just curious.
I actually was originally going to go with brass/gold frets to match the theme but didn't do it. The Schaller bridge I used is awesome though, no problems with it at all
It is the same stuff I used on the body. It's called Tried and True and it's very similar to Tru Oil. It's a great finish because it doesn't change the colour of the wood, it just makes it look deeper and adds a slight shine to it :)
@@morganoguitars2213 Hello. Thanks for the information. I really like that. what are you doing. It's about the price. If it's very expensive, then I won't be able to pay. I am 52 years old and have been playing guitar for 40 years.
It was a Strat style blank neck I had laying around. I just did some custom shaping to it. I still might make a custom neck for this guitar but I actually really like the one that's on there now so I might just leave it :)
You had me with "Relaxing blues music" which I absolutely love. I really do need to learn to play guitar.

@danielmorris6523 I'll be honest and say I still haven't begun to learn how to play the guitar. Shame on me. One day, that will change.

Awesome build, enjoyed watching!
Thank you very much, I appreciate that :)
I love how you did the contours with an electric hand drill and sanding discs!
Yeh it worked out great and was much faster and smoother than filing in my opinion :)
Wow. I love the color of the body.
Left handed people rules. You do awesome work
Great skills....
Damn, it has a lot of sustain 😍
I'm really happy with it's sound, thank you :)
The music is beautiful....as is the guitar...
Thanks Robert :)
As a rule I don't dig Gold bling on guitars, but this is a Jewel for sure, and a voice to match it's looks...
You should be very proud 👊

Thank you, that's a huge compliment. Definitely make your own guitar, it's a lot of fun :)
Yes...!!
Very cool. Would love to see how one would look with the same color veneer on the neck as the main body.
That's a killer beautiful guitar!!!! I'd be proud to play on one. I love the 3 ply body choices and the gold hardware. The headstock is awesome too.

How much would a guitar from you run? I have an extremely low budget
Stunning! Curious what is scale length? Are electronics configured as a LP or super strat?
Dammit, now I have to learn how to wood work AND how to play guitar.
Ok, so now I want to make my own guitar. I’m sick of buying guitars and over hauling them. You did a great job. I hope to make one of my own someday soon.

Beautiful body, love how the maple contrast with the walnut. Was the neck purchased?
Magnifique !
Du teck ou kapur ?
It is American Walnut and Queensland Maple :)
Really like this combo of wood and hardware. Do you think matching frets would've been too overboard?
Badass!
Thanks Mike! :)
Awesome construction technique and final result!!! I'd love to try one!! Just one suggestion: for the final test video be sure the guitar is properly tuned....!!

Looks like you have the neck pickup ring backwards, the high side should be facing the bridge?
There really is no wrong or right way up as it depends on the body shape and curvature. I placed it that way so that it adjusts up and down evenly at the same angle as the strings :)
What did you think of the tried and true on the neck?
Fine looking instrument. I would've just added a layer or 2 of gloss to the body imo.
Thank you, yeh I really thought about that a lot but in the end decided I liked just having a light sheen on it :)
How much does a guitar like this cost?
$500-$1,000+
Lol, more than that. There is nearly $1000 just in hardware alone.
but i love the work on this video
