A tremendous amount of work and an awesome result. I love what you have done. Don’t ever part with that bike. I also learned a few things watching your video. Great job!
Thanks for watching Peter, and thanks for the kind words. I love the bike. Nothing like the sound it makes. I think knowing every piece and having a connection to it is important. Ride safe
Beautiful build, congrats, I'm just waiting on new tires for my 81 CB400, then she'll fly again, I can relate to that feeling when she starts up for the first time in years, best feeling ever
Delighted to hear you’re starting your first build. If you ever need anything, or even just some motivation, just reach out! The community is really strong, and very supportive. Happy building 👍
Thanks for checking out the build series 👍 we’re just about finishing the seat for the KZ750 budget build series. Would be interested to see what you thought of that one.
Hey man you did an awesome job and great camera work! I am going to rebuild an '82 CB650 into a cafe bike and seeing videos like this is definitely inspirational
Hey Chase, thanks so much for the kind words. It was an amazing experience. I’ve definitely gotten the bug for it now. Finishing the build really gave me a ton of confidence to get off my butt and try my hand at more “scary” projects. Good luck with your build. If you ever need help or some encouragement just reach out. 👍
New subscriber here from Philippines, i realy love the build. From start to finish.i watch a lot of video about cafe racer but this one touch my heart. Coz i build the same but 125cc only its a 15yr old bajaj.its not that beautiful but my heart is in that bike. Beacuse its a gift from my father. I wish someday i can have a beatiful build like yours. Ride safe brother.
Thanks for watching the build Raymond and for the kind words. Much appreciated 👍 you’re absolutely right, these bikes can’t help but show the care and passion that goes into them. Safe riding 👍
Beautiful work. The CB 750 was the worst handling bike I ever had but that engine lasts long after you have grown tired of the bike. It just goes to show you that there is real treasure that can be created from trash.
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated 👍 it was a steep learning curve, but a really enjoyable build. Fun to be able to use the bike too. Thanks for tuning in.
Hey thanks for watching. I wouldn’t recommend the clutch lever. I bought it from Amazon and I want to change it. The brake and master cylinder are the originals from the CB750K. The headlight I can for sure recommend as I’ve used it on two builds now and it’s excellent. You can find it here: www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B07Z5PDTTN?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
nice build! - I saw a video on you replacing your tach & speedo with a Koso brand . I bought one just like it but not installed yet - curious how it worked out for you ? I'm building a '78 Suzuki GS 1000
Hi Arnie, thanks for tuning in. I’m hoping to mount that on the CB750 this winter. I also want to do a little tidy up on the wiring. I’ll make sure to pop a video up on the set up. I like the GS1000. It’s a really nice bike.
This is amazing inspiration. I have the same bike sitting in my garage as an engine, frame, forks, and wheels. Everything else has to go basically. If you don’t mind can you tell me when you got your seat at it looks amazing with the blue but my heart is set on a dark forest green for the tank
Hi Noah, delighted to hear that. I got the seat from Tuff Side seats in the USA. They do great stuff. Also, make sure to check out the playlist for season one. There is almost 50 videos for the complete build. You may find it helpful, or at least you’ll see what not to do 😂 happy building
Also, where did you get the clutch and front brake controls, cables, push buttons, etc.? I really like the handlebars and control levers and assemblies. Please let me know what they are and where from. Thanks!!
I used the Motogadget M-Unit controller and because of that I could use the RebelMoto pushbutton controls. I bought the clutch lever from Amazon, however, I wouldn't recommend this lever. I believe DimeCityCycles have better ones for the same price. I ended up using the stock master cylinder. In Season one, I have videos showing the install of the switches and the M-Unit in detail along with links in the descriptions which you may find interesting. If you go to the "CB750K 1977 Cafe/Brat Build" playlist, you will see the video. Happy building :)
I used the same light on a later build and a really nice guy online actually wired in an LED for us. Check out the KZ750 build and you'll see the exact one. We keep a running cost and list of parts here, we usually link them in the description of every video docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nRwfN2Lh4bUoio8F1LOM7gTU23-aNgKJLuIHPFIfz8Y/edit?pli=1&gid=0#gid=0
Hey nice work on the gl500. They're a lovely bike. Not sure if you like the tail light that I used on mine, but its very inexpensive and pretty well made. In the season 2 budget cafe build series I'm doing currently, we have just bought another the same as for the Kawasaki KZ750.
Hey thanks for checking out the build. There‘a an entire build series playlist. Check it out. Also there is an episode on the build cost here ruclips.net/video/nvAcX40I40I/видео.html
Great job with the electric-electronic things, engine, frame, wheels, gauges, paint, etc. My only criticism is the seat, looks very well made and good quality but I hate the brat seat on a cafe racer bike (cafe-brat??), so if I install an ape hanger on an R1 how should I call it? sport-chopper?
Hi Michal, the honing tool I bought from Princess Auto, however you will find them in any good tool store. You can find them here: www.princessauto.com/en/2-to-7-in-engine-cylinder-hone/product/PA0008907750
Hi Sean, the seat is from Tuffside and the details are: Universal Flat Seat - Upswept tail - kick-up - Seat Inlay Color: Dark Brown - Main Seat Color(back&sides): Dark Brown - Stitch Color: Natural - Stitch Style: Diamond Stitch - Seat Size: Big Honda (universal) I hope that helps, there are more details in the build series within the playlist on how I fitted it and made the latching system if you're interested. Thanks for tuning in. Steve
Thanks for tuning in Chris. The clip ons were from Amazon, www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B073VHT83L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 They are good quality. But I don't think I would recommend them as you don't have adjustment for the angle, only up/down along the fork and rotating away or toward the rider. I hope that helps.
Thanks 🙏 for the CB750 build in season 1, I used the CognitoMoto rear set. For season 2 we’re going for a budget build, so we’ve gotten some from Aliexpress. They haven’t come in yet, but will be doing an episode on mounting them once they do. Thanks for tuning in 👍
The welder I use is from Canadian Tire. I'll put a link below. It welds using both MID and Flux Core which is really handy. Its runs on 110v and it easy to use. They regularly go on sales for approx. $250 CAD. www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-mig-and-flux-welder-0588195p.html#srp
Awesome build! Very impressed of how the bike started and ended up looking new. But we all need to know. Did the lady of the house give you an ultimatum, either the bike or her. And is that why we see the bike on a Uhaul with your smile from ear to ear? Cause we want to know if you made the right decision....LOL
Hey thanks for tuning in 👍 I found David Silver, eBay and 4into1 to be the main help. Links below: www.davidsilverspares.com/CB750K-FOUR-1977-USA/ 4into1.com
absolutely loving the work/build! Been thinking about doing it for 4-5 years now, and currently hesitating on buying a 1976 550 one to work with. Would you recommend doing it to someone with currently only basic knowledge, but with time, motivation, and more qualified friends?
Hey man, thanks for checking out the video. Man I’m delighted to hear you’re considering giving it a go. I had zero experience when I started the build. It’s daunting I know, but the community is amazing, and you can find anything you need to from RUclips and online forums. I can’t encourage you enough :) you won’t be sorry. In the first video of season one, I made a video setting up the reason why I was going to give it a try, and I had no confidence with it. I’ve learned so much, and have so much more confidence with it. The hard part, is making yourself stick to it. The build may take you a year or two, so it’s important to give yourself a realistic deadline. If you ever need help, just reach out 👍
Also is this a nighthawk? I have a nighthawk 650 and the tank is full of rust. I dont want to go through the hastle of cleaning it out and want to swap it for a bigger tank. What kind of tank is that and do you think it will fit my nighthawk?
Hey thanks for watching. I’ve actually used this headlight on another build we’re working on currently. It’s on Amazon. Here’s the link to the episode. The link to the headlight is in a parts list in the video description ruclips.net/video/YjSkHpzzizY/видео.html this tank is from the CB750 K8 1978. Not sure about sizing. But I bet you could make it fit with some mods either way
@@cafechronicles thank you. Also where did you locate the battery? I dont recall seeing it in the video. Did you get a low profile battery and relocated it elsewhere?
I've had mixed reactions on that seat. In season 2 we're building our own custom seat with a small cowl, I'd be interested to hear what you think. Thank's for checking out the build series.
@@cafechronicles :) Yes that is a bit what I ment. Back in the seventies our café racers had a littile Cowl too. Its maybe from there I have it. My first motorcycle was a Kawa 650 z With clip ons way to low on the fork, and sloping down..... But I believe you are doing a great job. I dont critisize your work.
Thanks for the great feedback and for checking out the builds 👍 It sounds like you were in the scene back in the day, I’m jealous. I like having your feedback, especially with your background, so thanks for reaching out 🍻
Thanks 🙏 it was my first build, so it was a steep learning curve. Also I didn’t have a heater in my garage the first winter, so I lost a few months. That all being said, about 1.5 years. Thanks for checking out the video. I made a build series that gets into the details.

Brilliant feeling!! Good luck with the 400. Such a nice bike. Thanks for watching 👍
Really nicely done. I am glad to see that you kept the front fender. It is a beautiful piece of chrome.
Thanks Peter 👍 you’re right, it is a lovely piece. I can’t imagine the front end without it now.
Is that the stock fender? It's identical to the one on my '77 Goldwing.
Good catch! The front end is from a 78 GL1000
Awesome build. Next year I’ll be attempting a cafe build for the first time. Will be watching your videos for some tips. Wish me luck. 😊
Delighted to hear you’re starting your first build. If you ever need anything, or even just some motivation, just reach out! The community is really strong, and very supportive. Happy building 👍

I'm not a great fan of alot of cafe racers being done these days but in this case I love it.
You seem to have nailed it.
Excellent 👌
Thanks for checking out the build series Jim and for the kind words
Good clean build! Love the rear sets. A nice small aluminum rear fender would be a perfect excuse to learn the english wheel!
Hmmm nice feedback Chris. I may need to take a look into that. 👍
Done with love. Good looking bike!

Beautiful work. The CB 750 was the worst handling bike I ever had but that engine lasts long after you have grown tired of the bike. It just goes to show you that there is real treasure that can be created from trash.
Thank you, much appreciated 🙏 yeah the engine is bulletproof on them alright
Subscribed. Nice looking bike man, you really put a lot of work and time into this build. The quality really shows!
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated 👍 it was a steep learning curve, but a really enjoyable build. Fun to be able to use the bike too. Thanks for tuning in.
