    Great explanation of dof. Very clear and well put together, thank you Jess. Alfie's little sounds he makes are so sweet! Such a good boy who seems to just love being your model! Melts my heart ❤️

    Most helpful video I've ever seen on DoF! Everyone else I have seen or read just talks about aperture. The way you explained this was so easy to understand! Thank you!

    Thats a great video. I was shooting some black sheep today with 75mm lens at f2.8 and the images turned out to be not so in focus, only parts of the sheeps face would be in focus. I know realize I was way too close to their faces...

    Thanks for making this video. Couldn't help but notice that the measurements were off by a few centimeters, since the tape measure was laid out neither in a straight line or on a flat surface. Actually there are (free) mobile apps for DoF calculations. They can be really helpful.

    • @ThatPhotographySpot
      @ThatPhotographySpot  2 года назад +1

      The DoF calculations were from a DoF app. The measure was there for reference on subject placement only 👍

    Love the hat! It is a gooood video! I suspect Dan is having fun editing this one😜. I am happy that you choose 135 mm , almost my favorite focal length. 🤓

    Each doubled distance gave you, what, about 3X depth increase for either given f-stop. That’s interesting info, too, in choosing a subject distance.

    Such a useful video, immensely thankful. Am I correct in saying the professionals that are getting nose and eyes in focus but aperture at 2.8 or smaller are further away from the subject?
    Many Thanks ❤

    Will a crop sensor do for good enough bokeh? The a6700 just has the best autofocus. Any recommendations?

    Even landscape photographers when using a wide angle lens and small aperture will have to focus stack if the foreground is close to the lens. Great presentation and very helpful. I see you got photo bombed by some others' dogs, lol.

    Did Dan dub car noises over Alfie's sprint, or is Alfie's diet causing excessive flatulence (you know, like a horse having their first mad gallop of the day)?

      You'd get more of the dog 'in focus' with the 70-200 lens,since the aperture is 2.8 and the number is bigger! The 135mm has an aperture of 1.8, so the number is smaller and therefore less of the photo is in focus. Hope this helps :)
