Fantastic video Jess. Although i do love it when you "waffle on" as you have said you do in a couple of your videos lol. But still enjoyed it. 10/10 👏👏
Great content! Was thinking the first photo demonstrating rule of thirds and leading might have even more impact if flipped horizontally. 🤔. Then again, maybe not 😀.
Very clear, concise and to the point. Love the way you show different photos with lines on to explain the rule of thirds whilst pointing out other key considerations. Truly beautiful, stunning photographs. What an incredibly high level you've achieved as a professional. Despite rule of thirds etc I do think you've got your own, unique style that's simply brilliant! 😁
Oh wow. I privately wasn't that keen on the idea of the new format to be fair but this was so helpful I'll take it back. Well done and thanks I learned something. :-)
Glad to share. I really like how it full of content, yet you still found a way to share your personality and make it funny - your drawing skills aren’t so bad 😀
Perfect! Straight to the point and very informative! Thank you Jess 👏 I’m loving the 5min video idea as I don’t have much time to watch RUclips. So very thankful for the shorter videos!
Having technical difficulties with the single focus point. It doesnt stay visable so when subject moves i can't see where the camera is focusing 🙈 I'll get there.
This was actually super helpful ! Thank you !! I was so bummed I have to think of a new idea for Aprils Monthly Challenge. The vision I had in mind wasn't able to be executed because it was currently out of order for repairs. I do appreciate this though. Gives me a sense of direction as to where else to take photos of my pup for this months challenge.
When you are shooting this in the moment - are you taking those points into consideration? I feel like that's where I fail so much by not checking my surroundings.
No book of photos I'm afraid, but the style and methods for shooting is outlined in the Outdoor Canine Portrait book, 'The Book', along with many images like those as examples. I've added a link here so you can take a look: www.thattogspot.com/online-advanced-outdoor-canine-portrait-course/ 😊
It was fun. You did it! It just so happens my camera club did a presentation on composition last night. So here's my question. For Pipi (diagonal) and Finn (Finn being at the lower right) wouldn't the Golden ratio apply or the Fibonacci spiral? Almost appears to be. Thank you for the tips. I hope you don't get burned out doing them.
Ryoka sits nicely in the Golden Rule, but Pippi and Finn don't fit perfectly with the Goldens. However, they both sit almost perfectly with the diagonal overlay (not the golden version) which is definitely my tip top fave in PS and LR !
Beautifully done!
thank you so much 🙏
That worked really well Jess...well done..
Thank you for your feedback Martin 🙏 Glad you enjoyed it 😊
BAM! Nailed it. Well done, Jess.

Aaaahh so glad you enjoyed it!!
Loved this!!!!
Thank you! I really enjoyed making it!!
Great content!
Was thinking the first photo demonstrating rule of thirds and leading might have even more impact if flipped horizontally. 🤔. Then again, maybe not 😀.
Images tend to be more impactful in western cultures who read left to right with the subject at the right ((in theory) 😊
These videos are the best because they don’t over complicate and keeps my attention the whole time. Great job 👌🏼
Thank you Michelle! I have an important topic next week but im concerned about the 5 minute target this time 🤣
Short, succinct and straight to the point - perfect for ageing brains, thank you again Jess!
Really pleased you enjoyed it, but I refuse to believe in ageing brains 🤓

Oh wow. I privately wasn't that keen on the idea of the new format to be fair but this was so helpful I'll take it back. Well done and thanks I learned something. :-)
Amazing! You know I’ll always try to do right by you guys 🙌❤️
I really enjoyed that as well, the examples of photos you’ve shown were perfect to understand how the lines work, thank you!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I tried to get some variety in there without it being too crazy 🤣
Do you ever use the Phi grid? I find that I like it for tighter compositions with less space around the subject.
Not usually, it doesn’t sit as well with pets whose ears and gangly legs take up so much space! 😊
Nicely done. Concise, full of helpful tips in only five min. Thank you!
thank you so much 🙏 what great feedback!
Glad to share. I really like how it full of content, yet you still found a way to share your personality and make it funny - your drawing skills aren’t so bad 😀

Great to know it's working for you, thank you so much 🙏
Great summary of lines in composition. I'll miss the longer videos but I understand. ♥️

Love your new intro!! And as always great info and plenty of content in 5 short minutes!!
it's a stretch to get it within the 5 minutes! but so worthwhile with all the amazing support and feedback, thank you so much 🙏
Great recap for those on your outdoor course, i am still on the practice element of this. I love your work, you are so incredibly talented ❤️
Thanks Emilia, if it's too much to try to put all of it together in one go, add them one at a time and it'll come together easily then 🤓
Having technical difficulties with the single focus point. It doesnt stay visable so when subject moves i can't see where the camera is focusing 🙈 I'll get there.
Oh no! Which camera is this??
6d mkii, i am saving to upgrade.
@@emilianuttall6281 are you using AF-S or AF-C??

When you are shooting this in the moment - are you taking those points into consideration? I feel like that's where I fail so much by not checking my surroundings.
Absolutely! it's good to be aware of your surroundings when you're on a shoot 😊
Do you have a hard copy book you sell Jess with these beautiful photographs in?
No book of photos I'm afraid, but the style and methods for shooting is outlined in the Outdoor Canine Portrait book, 'The Book', along with many images like those as examples. I've added a link here so you can take a look: www.thattogspot.com/online-advanced-outdoor-canine-portrait-course/ 😊
