Just came across your channel, good stuff! One thing (might be considered a nit)... but Increasing the ISO doesn’t actually increase the sensitivity of the camera’s sensor. It increases the amplification of the sensor’s output signal. Of course this amplifies all the noise as well. Still, spot on!

This helped sooo much! Like it‘s not that I haven‘t been trying to get a hang of all on this info but it was just too complicated. I love taking action shots that‘s what I‘ve been doing for most of my „sessions“ but recently I kinda got pushed towards „artsy“ portraits and it I could just get onw or two pictures that were absolutely cool - but they were lucky accidents. Can‘t wait to put all of this info to good use. ❤️

Never heard of the triangle before. Its interesting that my X-T2 is set like the triangle. ISO dial on the left, SS on the right, and the Aperture on the lens. It makes your video very easy for me to understand and apply when I go to shoot this evening. SO glad I found your channel!

If you want to shoot action with a wide aperture to blur the background check if your camera has an option to set minimum shutter speed. Then you can shoot in aperture priority mode with confidence that you're not going to get motion blur.

Where do I find those cheat sheets for iso, aperture and iso? I’m an hobbyist looking to make photography a side hustle. Especially, now that I’m aware it’s competitive market.👍🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

I have an old cannon camera thats sort of past it’s days, but I had a go with it at some action. It’s at max ss and I have decent settings but it’s just not getting what I want. Is it just the age of the camera or am I doing something wrong?

Do you have copies of the Aperture (f stop) Graph, Shutter Speed Graph and the ISO Graph I could print out and use
most landscape photographers wouldnt really venture past F11 because of the dreaded diffraction issues , and they would also stack the images to ensure sharpness back to front

Only if the light is the same brightness every single time you shoot what you shoot. If it's not then yes, you'll need to learn what these settings do in relation to your exposure.
I use the 135mm F2 lens. Would you say for action shots, I should be going to 1/5000 or 1/2000 shutter speed?

Is there any way to do this on a phone? because I love photography, but am still a kid and I dont have the budget for a 1500$ camera
Not really, but cameras do not need to be $1500 - you can pick up a starter kit for £200 if you look hard. It won't be perfect, but it's far better than a phone!
I’m still so confused watched this 3 times and other videos, need to understand how to use manual mode and understand the settings like Aperture, and shutter.

Exposure is light on the sensor iso is not part of it. You use it to compute the exposure you want with the light input, so you have 4 parameters to deal with. This triangle kills me😤
Well, yes. It's a digital adjustment whereby the only sensitivity the camera has is its base *native* ISO. Any ISO value higher than the base (lowest) native ISO value is a digital amplification of the sensor. Basically, if your camera's native base ISO is 100 and you take a picture at say f/2.8, 1/1250, ISO 400, your camera will take the picture at ISO 100, underexposing the sensor, then digitally amplify the signal to the desired exposure at ISO 400. Essentially, ISO is how brightly the camera renders your chosen combination of Aperture and Shutter Speed exposure values.
However, you can see how this would make any beginner glaze over and want to run for the hills if given that super technical explanation. So to have beginners understand ISO in a way that they can sort of get the gist of what it's doing to use it correctly, it's just easier to say that ISO is the camera's sensitivity to light, though that's not quite accurate. The net result is the same and the typical explanation still gets newbies hitting the ground running with an idea of how to use it.
