This song is definitely a 1960s-1970s (1968) song. A good one at that! These days, we have auto tune clowns 🤡 that can’t articulate 😂. I love this song!

It's the version we were all looking for. I remember having the remix ca. 2000 as an extra track on a CD called "Elvis: 30 No. 1 Hits". I always wondered what the original sounded like, now I know!

This is the best version of the song, recorded, but not used in the 1968 Singer TV Special. It has more power than the movie original. I am not as enamored with the remix/dance version of the early 2000's using this version, but remixed. At least another generation found out that Elvis is still the best.

That's what brought me here! I began watching ELR and got addicted. I've been watching "music videos" ie film clips of him singing in his movies. I've always been fascinated by the marriage of music and imagery especially in film long before the original and real MTV! Also his unrecognized innovation of sorts. Beatles and others made "videos" as we know them today long before MTV. Classic movie musicals were even their precursor. But, Elvis broke that ground further. "Elvis: One Night" TV Special with him sitting in a circle with his band playing, for me was arguably the first
"Unplugged" before MTV launched that in the 90's. Hyped now over this new Elvis film coming. Whole new perspective. Apologize for babbling, having a sleepless night. Peace.

Yes I like this song a lot and maybe sometime I'll encourage my kid to listen to this song on the UK junkie version because even though the song I think originally was sung by the late King Elvis Presley himself in the movie and the '68 comeback special in June of 1968 the JUL Junkie version sounds better, that's my personal opinion.

Yep, by 1968, his career was in the gutter, he really needed to revive his place on the scene. He managed the same year with that special.
Well I guess you had to be there to understand that but yes. Maybe you're to young to remember them but some no-name band from England showed up on our shores in 1964 and got in his way. But in spite of that, he never really left our hearts and never will. As for the Beatles, they will never leave our hearts either.
@@jewishgirl752 I'm 33 so I wasn't alive, but I always thought Elvis and the Beatles both just existed at the same time as kinda competing, I never really looked into the history, just thought "He's the king!". Forgot he had a bad slump time.
@@DetectiveLance Yeah, between 1963 and 1967 it was relatively quiet around Elvis. Then, suddenly in 1968 he was back on the scene.
@@DetectiveLance If you go back to the 50's John and Paul were just getting started forming groups. They were both following the fads of the day wearing "duck tails" a hair style for boys and a way Elvis was wearing his hair. Move forward to the early 70's, 72, 73 etc. and Elvis was wearing a Beatle cut. They each had a great amount of influence on the other. Together they gave us some of the greatest music. A little known fact; many people ponder what a collaboration of songs done by the Beatles and Elvis together would have been like. Well it happened. The five of them playing and singing together. The story is true. Look it up.
