Hi Jonas, there is also CTA4014 which can come in handy. However the space is pretty tight, you _may_ be able to fit a thin wrench in there, however, you may not have the room to turn/break free the tie rod end.
I am trying to replace the outer TE on a 2016 XC90 and they are not coming out. I have tried heat, used a 3 arm puller to force it downward not luck. Because of the aluminum knuckle I am very leery to put a lot of pressure in it. Any tips on removal?
What's the consensus in replacing both inner and outer vs outer only? I bought a pair of outers, but haven't done the job yet. Should I buy inners too?
I would go ahead and get them, especially if you can return them unused when it turns out you don't really need them. It's hard to tell if you'll really need them until the outers are off, and I'd rather have them on hand while I'm doing the job. I'm ordering inners and outers cause they're cheap enough and might as well.
Finally doing this job now (in the middle of winter here - but at least its a mild winter!). Typical of the XC90, in making it right hand drive, they put everything in the way of simple jobs...
@@richardlabarre7892 i did this job weeks ago. a large wrench worked great. i have many tools, and am weary of buying "specialty" tools unless i have to. they are often overpriced junk used to do one job poorly.
Hi I have a Volvo xc 60 2011 and it has been good for me. My vehicle has 203k and it needs a converter. I can buy the the converter wholesale for a little over 1000, just not sure if I want to go that route or up grade to something newer,
Ironically I have the exact same Volvo XC90 V8 Sport in titanium gray metallic. I took my vehicle in for an alignment a week ago and was told my inner tie rods are shot. Sooo I know what I’m doing soon. Lol!
You got to realize that the most of the DIY people out here won’t even attempt to try and touch the automatic transmission. I personally wouldn’t want someone that doesn’t know the in’s and outs to do it.
This guy is so chill. Nice job bro.
To jack under if the nut won’t spin off tip was so useful on doing my s60 today. Thank you!!!
One of the best videos from FCP ever
Glad you enjoyed, more P2 content to come!
That really helped. Unfortunately a couple of the wrench sizes were a little different than on your car, but I got it worked out. Thank you so much.
Very well presented and extremely clear.
Thank you kindly!
My inner tie rod just went out and bro saved my life 😭😭😭
I see some inner tie rod boot kits come with packets of grease. What gets greased? The ball joint?
No thread locker like loctite needed for inner tie rod threads to steering rack?
great Video! How do you do if you do not have that special tool? Any other way to break that nut?

is there a way to get the inner tie rod out without the tool? would a large ajustable wrench maybe work?
You can rent tools at many autoparts stores.

It sounds like you need to have a heart to heart with your XC60🤔
@@fcpeuro Is there a video that you have put out showing replacing, Idle pulley, tension on a Volvo engine.
Yesss Volvo content!
We have more lined up!

The same thing happened to this XC90! A week later we were fiming.
@@fcpeuro great timing as always with your videos. Thanks guys!
Excellent
Mike!!!! A Volvo? What the…………?
Mike said the same thing... we are making him get out of his comfort zone 😂
Boom baby 👶
Notice these videos never replace anything difficult
What should we replace next that would be on the difficult scale?!
Automatic transmission.
@@fcpeuro I recently found that there is a lack of anyone doing a good video on the Power Steering pump for this car
