For those that dont know why Storm began attacking: Storm was in the middle of a mutant Civil War against Apacolypse's wife and all four horsemen at the time. 50,000 disappeared and presumed dead (we know that they are alive, but Storm does not). Humans hate mutants at an all time high. X-Men killed and disbanded. The rest on the run or being transported off earth. Storm was the general of the war and they had just gotten invaded and overwhelmed. She was about to lead the charge and next move when Thor took her away. Those minor attacks were like hits/slaps from a sister to a brother, trying to communicate the severity of her issue.

At least there’s context to it and it’s not like storm was bodying him. Thor just allowed it to happen and he even withstood the pressure of Jupiter. That being said he once stood on the sun without any danger to him so this shouldn’t have been anything to cause him to bleed regardless of how superficial the wound is

My entire problem with her was Aaron's bad writing and bad retcons and bad characterisation of literally everyone, and a waste of a good premise. But Ewing is actually competent, so maybe I will finally be able to wash that bad Aaron taste out of her character too.
Don’t expect a lot though from it since Al Ewing has stated before that he absolutely disagreed with Jane foster being thor and the entirety of Jason Aaron’s run

I used to love Storm but this is stretching it. Thor calls together everyone who shouldn't be there. Thor and Loki are the last gods around? He literally destroyed Beta Ray Bills hammer and decided not to repair it. Storm had a hammer of her own that has been destroyed twice and still came back, which Thor could still repair. Where are the people who already have hammers? Ragnarok has his own Thor hammer from an alternate dimension. Red Norvell was gifted his own Mjolnir from Odin a long time ago. Thunderstrike is still out there. While Wiccan wasn't really a Thor, his former codename of Asgardian, plus his insane magical powers would have made him a great addition. Pairing him up with If we really wanted a mutant, Dazzler is also worthy and Thor was contacted to take her deceased alternate version's hammer to Asgard, so he knows about her. Speaking of powerful elementals, Iceman is way more powerful than Storm and he beat up Thor before he became allfather. Iceman also froze time and beat the Juggernaut. Lol. He's a mutant they should have recruited. Honestly, the best thing would have been if they recruited Jinx from the Darkhold series. His ability to amplify magic could be helpful. Wiccan, Jinx, Mimic, Sync, and Hope (has the iron fist power, but nobody ever mentions that) would make for some insane power. As for the scene where they toss the hammer around and everyone becomes a thor, the reason that Thor joined nazi cap in secret wars is that he banished Jane thor to another dimension, kept the hammer there and threatened to pick it up, thereby taking away her transformation.
Relax, Thor fans. The comic pretty much explains that Thor merely ALLOWED storm to hurt him. He pretty much said that, if he wants to, he can withstand anything.
At first I hated the fact that Thor was bleeding to the atmospheric pressure of Jupiter, but then it said it was the entire of the Atmospheric pressure of Jupiter squeezed into that small space where Thor stood. So it's a lot stronger than the normal atmospheric pressure of Jupiter. Regardless he was talking and laughing while taking the pressure. So it's not much of a problem for me lmao
Then you should still be annoyed because that explanation is just techno gibberish, unfortunately. Atmospheric pressure is just a value of how much force per area is applied to something. Whether only the spot where Thor stood or more is subject to the atmospheric pressure of Jupiter, the value is the same. Total force would be different, but that is not what Thor would be bearing so it is irrelevant to him. It is the difference between shooting one bullet at Thor, or shooting one bullet him and dozens around him, either way from his perspective he just had to endure one bullet, the changes only affect the shooter and the ground around him.
@@ayomthe17th Which, if taken literally, just makes the whole thing more techno gibberish, because weight and pressure aren't the same thing, and in the context it doesn't make sense either. Though, in that narration box, it does seem to be using language more figuratively, "feeling the weight of a world on his back", which is why I ignore it, while Ororo's speech did seem to be trying to be more literal.
@@louisvictor3473 It's comicbook science. It not going to 100 percent make sense. Regardless, what the narration stated pointed out that she created atmospheric pressure similar to Jupiter's and because she can control weather phenomena on a molecular level, she crammed it together and created a weight like that of Jupiter's pushing on Thor. Again, you might want to point out that the weight didn't affect the surrounding area but then, comic science sometimes makes it possible to dish contained attacks and potentially harm characters that could have tanked attacks with planetary or solar system wide attacks
@NYC.Hero.in.dirty.shorts Yeah but it's still the weight of the biggest planet in our solar system. It only made him inconvenienced for a few seconds before he started smiling and giving her a pep talk. Thor would effortlessly have beat her if he wanted to fight
Yeah I’d have to agree. I discussed it more in the first draft of the script for this episode, but forgot to put it back in. Thor has stood in the Sun and likely on many planets larger than Jupiter. Most credit I can give for this is that maybe the fact he didn’t expect it played into it, but he still shouldn’t have been so beaten down by what is likely just a basic part of fighting on other worlds
@@ThorTalk Definitely man. I felt like the whole Storm exchange was trying to appease Storm and Thor fans and make them both happy. If he had dropped momentarily then gone on like he did about how he could take it, I would've been fine with that. But there was no need for the blood. It's especially ridiculous considering he has the thor/odin power now.
Isn’t Eric Masterson’s son somewhere out there with his Uru hammer, “Thunderstrike!” Al Ewing needs to somehow get Stormcaster reforged for Storm’s future battles against Genesis on Arrako.
At last this is the real Thor...able to fight Thanos, Apocalypse, and Superman....in fact all he has to do is conjure up some kryptonite. And he can handle the Hulk
@@InvincibleMark I don’t think dude remembera that storm is, always has been, and always will be a human-mutant, with powers, plus some magic in her blood. While Thor’s birth, seeming death, and rebirth were divine in nature. That his soul is immortal and that even tho he can die, he can never be killed to where he won’t return to life.
What I like most about Ororo’s and Thor’s exchange is that she’s become increasingly arrogant and impatient as X-Men Red has gone on. So that consistency between both Ewing books is nice to see.
Arrogant and impatient!?!? Granted she's always held herself in very high esteem but arrogant is not and adjective that should be used to describe her even less so impatient. She has a vary tactical mind on par with Cyclops so no, she's neither of those. Storm was in the middle of a war, fighting for Arrako and Thor just "summoned" her, teleporting her against her will. She had every right to be pissed at Thor. And when she realized the seriousness of Thor's situation she stayed and helped.
her impatience is understandable, considering she's fighting a genocidal battle against genesis. then out of the blue thor summons her to fight his battle?
@@lilkenx8039 she’s been acting in a way that I would call arrogant based on a few exchanges with the Quiet Council prior to and as Krakoa was falling. She definitely overplayed her hand with them and made some poor choices that could’ve been avoided had she not acting so hastily. I’m not saying it in a negative way. I think it’s an interesting development for her because it’s clear her time on Arrako has changed her.
1. It's just a comic 2. I like them both. 3. He showed how powerful they both are without making either look bad. I don't know too many writers who can do that 4. I would trust Al Ewing to write any of my favorite characters.
The lightning can’t hurt either of them but it seems that Storm’s lightning attack was too quick and caught him off guard. He does go on to say “Don’t make it choose" meaning the lightning is hers to control just as it is his. He also know of Storm’s true strength as well as she has ascended into Godhood when needed and that’s what he meant by he can, she can and a few others can as well when the need is necessary. As for Stormcaster it was said to give its holder the God of Thunder prowess and Storm and Beta Ray Bill’s hammer was able to give its wielders more abilities than what Mjolnir could give. Storm was holding Mjolnir but she didn’t want to be rude and just take it from him because Thor was a friend as he is now but I guess AE was going for the "Angry Black Woman" stereotype to start a fight between them so that ppl could see that when controlling lightning they are on equal terms but of course many can’t comprehend what they and all they got from it is that Storm can’t hurt Thor with lightning.
So a few things to discuss here. Storm isn't a god by any means. She's powerful and she has magical ties to her abilities but she's not a god by marvel standards. She's about as much of a god as Beta Ray Bill is. She does have a powerful control over the weather and lighting but not at the level of his which even she has stated in multiple times. As for Stormcaster it was said to give its holder the God of Thunder prowess and Storm and Beta Ray Bill’s hammer was able to give its wielders more abilities than what Mjolnir could give. Second Stormcaster was said to NOT have the same abilities as Mijonir since that was created by Loki to make people relient on the powers of the god and it is said to take their agency away. Its more of a tool of trickery than an actual replication of Mijonir Third Storm wasn't taking Mijonir from Thor. Thor threw it to her as a means of handing it to her as shown in the comic. His intention was never to hurt her but to lend him her powers since he deemd her worthy. In the book it is shown tha THe power of Mijonir is the bane of Thor's foes but hope in the hands of his allies. Thor deemed Storm Worthy of the power of mijonir since as the new all father his new enchanment deemed her worthy. So Al Ewing didn't put them on equal terms. Thor is above Storm. In terms of power Thor is more powerful than Storm . Shes the most powerful mutant for sure . He even stated so when he mentions that his power only lasts 60 seconds with other beings who use it. Shes not equal to him. Not in the slighests. Try again.
@@Memeinaround I didn’t say Storm took the Hammer from Thor in this comic or any other comic. In the past past when the reviewer showed the panel he said Storm guided Thors hand when truth is..she had the hammer in her own hand and if she wanted to she could have taken it. As for Marvel they don’t know what a God is…hell they made Ironman a God then Spider-Man. These are just boys playing with their favorite toys. Cause a real God wouldn’t need help from the same human twice now or an Alien or whatever Ray Bill is.
@@LarryDWilmore79 But that was true that thor guided storms hand . That was also confirmed by an author that storms ability to use mijonir was through Thor’s guidance so she wasn’t using the hammer. Thor was and she was more or less a conduit . By the way in terms of marvel ranking storm has asked Thor for help more times than Thor asking storm for help. This the only time he recruited her for the Thor Corp which he leads so he’s not being saved by anyone
@@LarryDWilmore79 Did you read the latest issue of immortal THOR didn't really needed her help But Just to Set An Example against toranos Storm literally ask this question herself to Thor
I would have preferred Eric Masterson, or even his son becoming Thor, as there is plenty of history there. Even Captain America, if I was to make another pick. Eitehr way, this issue was good, even though I had some nitpicks. Nice episode Thor Talk, otherwise.
I think Ewing said Eric being dead is why he was absent. I would have appreciated Kevin being there, but oh well. For Captain America I’m guessing it’s because he’s held the hammer but hasn’t really been transformed into a Thor form. For whatever reason he’s never “become Thor”, he’s just been Captain America holding a hammer. Still I do agree it would have been nice to see Cap there especially since he’s one of the most iconic Mjolnir wielders
This issue was great. It also shows once again that Marvel/DC characters are able to hold back their durability in my opinion. Thor, while completely unwilling to show any hostility, is pushed down and made to bleed from atmospheric pressure from Jupiter and recoils from lightning only to heal himself completely and stand up uninjured when he want to.
@@DLo776 Thor is literally talking about how his strength is entirely relative based around the need for it in a situation in which he is trying to establish trust in a potential war comrade. The art is depicting him harmed at first then literally smiling as if it were a light gust of summer wind as he is saying that very sentiment.
@@DLo776 He was bleeding and keeled over in one moment and standing and not bleeding in the next as he is talking about how his strength is relative based on the situation. I don’t know how it can get more clear than that.

You said "every comic book character is immortal" ... "EVERY...CHARACTER". But if you wanna be picky then Battle Beast stayed dead. So did the Guardians of the Globe. Boston Brand has been dead since his origin story, that's his whole shtick, he's literally called Deadman.
Um, I'm right there with you UNTIL you start to defend how Thor asked for help, Storm is in the middle of a planetary level war with the fate of all her people on the line. She's been essentially kidnapped while Thor makes platitudes about why his situation is more important than her ongoing war.
But his situation is more important than her ongoing war, because Toranos will turn to Arakko and destroy it making the entire war irrelevant. Thor thought the seriousness of issue demanded it be explained in person and him going to her would have brought his battle to Arakko when it didn’t need to. Whereas by having the battle on the moon, Arakko can go completely unharmed if they defeat Toranos.
Storm wasn't unreasonable. There had just been a mass genocide committed on the planet by Uranus of the Inhuman, and now she is Whisked away while she is leading the counter-offensive in a mutant civil war with Genesis wife of Apocalypse ( now called Revelation), If you read the X-men book before this Genesis had just taken over their former stronghold. So forcibly teleporting someone away from a dire situation like that is going to cause serious stress. I think Thor responded perfectly because it's clear he doesn't understand what's going on with Arrako.
@@shadowmonarch1383 and you would know this how??? 🤔 Thor is actually the runner up to Storm in my opinion. Whenever there was a comic or a situation that Storm wasn't in but Thor was...I always rooted for him. I got a thing for weather manipulation it's underestimated. But Storm simply does it better. Much more creative. You can't deny that.
The idea that Storm can cause him pain, is ridiculous. _Just recently_ he had to fight a Thor from another dimension, his own lightning was completely useless and he had to use Phoenix fire. Also the implication that Storm will ever match an Skyfather, or that her power is magic, is also stupid.
You obviously haven't been keeping up with Storm or her roots...and it's ok. You ain't the only one that underestimates her abilities. Storm is finally getting her just due in the comics. She adjusts her attacks to make them suitable for who she's attacking, Storm once sent a lightning bolt through the earth's many layers and struck the core. Scientifically speaking the amount of pressure/force/kinetic energy generated to pull off such a feat is damn near incalculable. Whereas blasts like that would exhaust Thor into an OdinSleep as we saw in the earlier issue. See, Thor commands weather, controls it's trajectory and movements as if it were his puppet. Storm on the other hand is in tune with it. Her very own emotions have an affect on weather. When wolverine died they had to take Storm off work and into outter space to grieve. And when she did she set the atmosphere ablaze. Causing an Aurora Borealis across the entire globe even during the day. Which carried on for hours and hours. As far as magic goes. Storms bloodline is steeped on magic. Her ancestors were powerful priestesses, worshipers of the mother of Agamotto who blessed the women in Storms family with WHITE HAIR and blue eyes to signify their magical potential. If the name Agamotto sounds familiar...think about Doctor Strange who wears the eye of Agamotto around his neck as a power booster. Not to mention one of Storm's ancestors was the ONE OF..if not the greatest...Sorceress Supremes that ever lived. Storm was also able to host the spirit of Eternity in her own body...said to be a feat that only few (like 2 or 3 others) in the Marvel Universe could do. She also splits a tarot card evenly with Scarlet Witch and Agatha Harkness 😮. Stating that the magical potential between these three women alone is unmatched. And none come close..YES NOT EVEN LOKI OR THOR. .....The only thing is Storm is not a practicing sorceress. She just has raw power that she sometimes taps into in times of need. She has a funny relationship with magic. Kinda like Aang and the Avatar state for season 1 of Avatar: the Last Airbender. Though it was a pretty powerful tool. He couldn't control it, it just manifested at times when he needed it most. Storm is just so very humble and sits in the back, quietly allowing people (like yourself) to underestimate her. But now she is being called upon to speak...and you better believe she's got something to say 😏 And it's worth hearing. It's like the quiet kid in the back of the class, that you found out was wiser than the rest. Or that he could sing like no one's bizness!😂 So I get it you stunned...your shocked...your appalled... but there is a reason why she's the only X-man that has never died...
@@KingofUnpopularOpinion Ok thanks for the literal 300 word essay.... but the idea of hurting Thor and making his ears bleed is ridiculous. Jupiter's gravity is only 2.4x Earths gravity which would make him weigh 1680lbs. This is nothing to him since he literally lifts millions of tonnes with ease. A Neutron Star's gravity is 2×10 to the power of 11 times Earths gravity, Thor tanked this and threw it off of him with no damage taken.
A multiversal God threatens entire existence vs Some lowly barbaric war which can be resolved diplomatically yeah You really didn't read any THOR issues before have You
I’m going to have to disagree on that one. If he wasn’t stopped, Toranos was likely going to destroy Arrako and everyone on it making the entire war irrelevant. Imma bigger Storm fan than a Thor fan by far...but I gotta tell you....I did some research on Thor and tho I agree Storm could take on Thor and take him down if need be. I don't think she would do it through frying his brain or using an EMP because he often channels lightning through his body. Also she couldn't rob his lungs of air...because Thor is actually immune to Asphyxiation which is a fancy term for suffocation or having a lack of air. Flash freezing may or may not work, again he channels lightning through his body. Lightning is thermal energy. However she could clot his blood. Or evaporate it to thin air.

I'm digging-STORM'S-new costume and hairdo,very-NICE.
Great review. Thor's comic seems to be in good hands!
@@louisvictor3473
The comic did State that he was bearing all the weight of Jupiter.
@@louisvictor3473
It's comicbook science.

1. It's just a comic
2. I like them both.
3. He showed how powerful they both are without making either look bad. I don't know too many writers who can do that
Its more of a tool of trickery than an actual replication of Mijonir
Third Storm wasn't taking Mijonir from Thor.
But his situation is more important than her ongoing war, because Toranos will turn to Arakko and destroy it making the entire war irrelevant.
I agree. Thor has tanked the gravity of a Neutron Star without taking any damage, Jupiter is only 2.4x earths gravity.
Or that he could sing like no one's bizness!😂

A Neutron Star's gravity is 2×10 to the power of 11 times Earths gravity, Thor tanked this and threw it off of him with no damage taken.

Thor rolled up on Storm at the wrong time, because she kinda humbled his ass... but for the fact an Elder God was about to delete Eaeth from the universal census, Thor would have to had sit on the L Storm was giving him. That said, Storm is HER! Al Ewing is giving her all of her flowers right now!!!
She's lucky Thor didn't even fight back and just laughed lol
It's ok to cope
She wouldn't survive an attack from Thor lmao. You storm fans overrate her a little too much
Eh depends on the attack@@ayomthe17th
@@ayomthe17th Like, loki literally called this bs shit out in the issue and these people still just ignore what they read.
When Thor is busy with business elsewhere his brother Vidar can sub for him in the Avengers.
Hearing comics explained talk about this just pissed me off lol. Storms attacks should not be phasing Thor at all! Then with the Thor making everyone Thor and Jane coming in. Damnit I'm sick of this bullshit
Don't like this tapping into the Odin Force. The OF should be apart of Thor's already vast power.
What is Gaea up to?
They have to nerf storm a true goddess to make this seem plauisable
Thor is So better that storm fans goes high on copium
@@shadowmonarch1383 nope she can realistically dominate him in any fight if not nerfed
@@mrkingdrago1013 She can't realistically dominate him in the Fight if we are gonna talk about both of them not getting Nerfed
@@mrkingdrago1013 And if we are talking about them Not getting Nerfed THOR could just Speed blitz her to Oblivion
@@mrkingdrago1013no she can’t. In many occasions she has stressed that he’s more powerful than she is. She wasn’t nerfed and neither was he. He allowed things to happen lol. Try again
Thor ain't beating Hulk in an arm wrestling buddy neither is he racing quicksilver!!!
Huge thor fan here tho
How does that make you immune to criticism saying you are a Thor fan

why would an arrogant storm be worthy? this sucks
She’s only worthy cause thor choose her to be worthy’s he’s the all father

@@carhac66 I never said it was good writing. lol
@@ebenezerstooge agreed!
lol these thor wankers still don't understand storm. there are many ways for storm to defeat him. she can force hydrogen atoms into his lungs and detonate him. she can bloat his lungs and stomach with air. she can fry his brain with emp. she can flash-freeze him. she can remove oxygen from his lungs. and storm pinning him down with air pressure here? this is nothing. storm has crushed a mountain with air pressure before.
what can thor do to her? storm can wrestle his control with lightning. she can redirect or block it. the only thing thor can do is catch her off guard and punch her. but in a battle, storm would just dodge him or stop him dead in his tracks through things i mentioned above.
and this is storm without her magic.
Say's The Guy Wanking To Storm Like A Sore Loser
You do know that thor can now rewrite reality as he’s done so in the anual right? He rewrote reality to reforge miojinr so what do you think he can do when she tires to do this little parolr trick on him? He withstood standing on the sun it’s self I think a little hydrogen is nothing to him.
Not to mention that he actually can use the Phoenix force powers without actually being a host now and that comes with a pleathora of powers its self. Also you’re forgetting your place here x stan. You obviously didn’t read the comics because Thor chooses who’s worthy of his powers now as he’s the all father now and he deems who’s worthy and who isn’t. So this extra power that storm has? Is all becsusr of Thor right now.
Know your place. Cause even she isn’t exempt from stuff like oxygen being sucked out of her lungs
@@shadowmonarch1383 in order to be a sore loser ..you gotta lose..lol
@@KingofUnpopularOpinion And You do down right horrendously lmao
Or crush his heart with that same level of air pressure...if not more. Or just rob Thor of his hammer and go head to head.
