It must be hard to price this kind of work. You use a donor key that you took parts off of to fix others and now you put the removed parts off of the owners key onto the old donor key. Now you don't know what part is broken on the owners old key that you have left. You had a good donor and now have a questionable donor with something broken! Thanks for the video.
Not difficult to price at all. As an auto electrician I do a lot of these type of fixes merging two or even sometimes three modules together. Just estimate your time and expertise and the price of the donor component.

Hello NICKO I have a 2003 Merc Estate E series out two fob keys which still have flashing lights but blade keys will not turn in the lock. Car batteries are flat as have been ill and for three weeks.Can you advise me please as to my next step. Many thanks Dolly
29 secs looks like cracked blue rf coil similar to the ones in iphones, I suspect that cracked when the key was dropped so the key was working fine just couldn't talk to the car.
FE QUESTION first donor board how you get a donor board , because you use a entire donor board you dont lost money? , how mush normal cost repair a key , i know than anew Mercedes key cost like 300 and take like 3 weeks to be replaced

i have replaced the KEY FOB battery 3 times in the last 2 weeks, i replace it with a new battery and it works for 4-5 days and then nothing , i hit the button no light no response from car
in the mean time i have observed the remote if the light was staying on like a button stuck but its not
I used duracell cr2032 batterys
The next chip contains the firmware that ties the key to the car. You can not move this to a newer key? Ie from a 2006 c230 key to a 2011 c300 key??

Your diagnosis and procedure is off course with your outcome , after buying a new key and programming it you may find still the keyless function is not operating this can be caused by errors in the ECM/BCM module

Sadly/Good thing, that euro cars are kings of security so by normal means no your gonna need a well versed locksmith or dealership

what's the purpose of a 0 ohm resistor? can't it be replaced with a normal wire?
Easier for the pick and place machine to deposit the resistor.
Easily removable for experimentation compared to just a trace. It connects 2 points together, or can also be used for current sense.

New key about 500$ / repair probably around 100-150$
ddjazz I’ve done this same repair for two of my Dodge Caravan fobs I assume Mercedes are a lot more expensive for sure $500
