- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been trending recently with the wide-spread rumours of a remake/remaster in the works, but you should know about how Bethesda almost destroyed the games reputation with a terrible microtransaction. The Shivering Isles is one of the best expansions of all time, but unfortunately for most people it's not the most remembered piece of downloadable content in this game.

Shivering Isles goated
The Shivering Isles was the best DLC ever made, hands down. It was an entire extra game added onto the older one. There were so many additional quests and things to discover that it felt like Oblivion 2. It was almost better than the original game. Something about being in such a strange area with completely alien plant life, environments, and enemies was so amazing, and I've never felt the same way playing any other DLC.
In fact, it was so good that I doubt it will ever happen again. A DLC with that much content would probably be released as a sequel instead of an add-on to an old game. It really could have been Oblivion 2, and I don't think anyone would have bat an eye, even back then. The only thing that has ever come close were the DLCs for the Borderlands franchise, before their latest game.
Exactly. One of the best expansions ever, I doubt we will see anything like that again in the future. I hope the remaster actually comes out and The Shivering Isles is included in it.
