nice bits of land... huge tracks of land!? or a very nice 60' sailboat!!! -- I can never decide -- when the cost to keep is too low or the work is too high. Taxes, statistics, maintenance and damn lies!
How very beautiful! The variety of landscape, flora, and fauna must have been printed on your hearts. Peaceful, graceful. Blessings on you both and your family and friends. Dogs count as family. 🕊🕊🕊🤠🐱🖖🌱🐞🐝
Once you get some green leafs on the trees the place will be your very own enchanted forest. Good to see the wife at the cabin with you. Take care...........
How beautiful your property is and what a lovely couple you make it was so nice to see both of you together and your wife should not be shy loved the water falls and rocks do hope we see more of Sarah in footage stay safe and look forward to more of both of you God bless you all your friend from across the pond.
Really enjoyed the overview on your property. Viewing your video from my remote cabin here in Ontario, Canada! I'm located on the edge of a creek in the middle of a vast cedar swamp, where wildlife abounds on this 400 acre property. This morning had a turkey cobbling on the opposite site of the creek from my cabin, grabbed my turkey call and called him in within shooting range. But alas turkey season opens at the end of the month, so could only enjoy his majestic approach! Really enjoy your videos! Keep them coming!
That was very nice, you Sarah and Beatrice have a very nice piece of property. You can always make a flat spot to farm ,but theres no way to get the rugged way of nature. So happy for you and your family, oh Poor puppy, you banished her to that nice sunny spot. Please be safe.
Thank you for the tour of your property. The solitude you have must be amazing. Too often we get caught up on city life and the rat race that comes with it. I moved out of the city to a small community where I have to commute close to an hour to and from work and it's still not far enough away. I should borrow your idea and find some property even further out to build a place of my own. Enjoy your time on the property and again thank you for allowing all of us into your life. Have a great week and stay safe. Peace.
Thanks Peter, it's nice to escape there, relax and not hear any sound except nature. But I have to say I also like the city so it's the best of both worlds for us. Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed the video.
Very interesting. Thanks for the guided tour. Your purchase of the land and building the cabin was very, very fortuitous. You and Sarah are truly blessed to have it. I'm sure you and Sarah are now going to invest in some hiking boots and/or some waders, etc., in order to make full use and enjoyment of your rugged acres.
Hey there Mike. I really enjoyed the tour of the property. I don't blame you for not divulging the location of your property. I could tell that it was in river country. I'm from west central Missouri. I was born on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River. So I just love river country. I plan on eventually getting some land in eastern Missouri near the Mississippi River. Well enjoy your beautiful piece of land. Take care folks. Vaughn
From your tour pointing out the May Apple plant... reminded me my grandmother used to make may apple and mint jelly. Nice property and beautiful work on your cabin. Love the channel!
I got lost on my land when I first walked it. We would dam up the creek enough for a wading pond for those toasty days. Watching the water fall is nice to meditate over the day.
Love your 50 acres. We had two acres that was part of a quarry. The house towered into the canopy. It backed up to 200 acres of a National Historic Site. My girls and their cousins had lots of fun roaming through it. Over the cliff they could see the large deer herd being chased by a pack of coyotes. Often the deer passed right alongside the house. Lots of wildlife and also lots of vegetation. Great place to recharge the batteries!
Very beautiful property. I also prefer creek/falls/hills over flat land. The spring is a super cool feature. Thank you for the video. Glad y'all are staying safe during this time
You did good for yourself young man and i know you will keep it up fantastic piece of property and it seems like you have a fantastic help mate and wife good on you two !!
Great property. Love that cedar barren and the waterfall. I bet it was hard settling on a spot for the cabin. So many choices to choose from. It must be tough to leave and go back to town.
Yes it was, I was very tempted to build higher up on the hill for the view or over looking the valley, but ultimately the added cost of extending the road and labor of clearing trees and whatnot had us decide on the current spot. It's on a nice finger of land so that it has natural drainage.
Omg my friend.. awesome.. another great video.. you are a lucky men.. of course I understand it has some work on it has some savings on it has some persistence on it but you’re the lucky one nice property looking forward to see what else you can make of it
Thanks for the tour! Very interesting geology. The creek is really cool and loaded with lots of flat ledgestone, one of the most diverse natural materials for building. Those 50 acres shoudl keep you plenty busy for a long time. Enjoy and keep safe!
My lab was just like yours as a puppy! Man they are awesome. The best thing I ever bought for my dog was a training/shock collar. I use it for any walks in the woods and she never has to be leashed. Tell them to come, if they don't, hit the beep noise on the collar. The first time they won't understand. Then if they don't come, shock them lightly. It will only take once or twice before they get the idea. Then next time, they will come with just the beep. I haven't had to shock my dog in years. She loves when I get the collar out because she knows she is going for a walk. Many times I don't even use the collar anymore. They work amazing. Treats are also great to train labs.
I have lived in Ohio all my life and love your homestead. I grew up in a small town in the Ohio valley. I loved going out in the woods as a child playing and just having a seat on a log and just taking the sight, sound and smells around me. I have a idea of where you are but I'll never tell.........
Fun that you talk of ginseng on the property as that is a good way to increase the value of the land. Buy a bunch of seed and in the fall do a walk around planting as you go using a pole to spike a hole to plant in and in 10 or so years you will have a nice crop to harvest.
@@50Acres You would buy from a normal seed distribution company for a fall planting. A quick search found 200 seeds on ebay for $9 or 1500 on etsy for $26 but I am sure you can find better deals and be ready to plant in the fall. This would be the time to start planting starter roots but would be impossible to find and get before the planting season is over. Like a lot of things take a second to research it but as a cash crop it would be perfect as you just plant and wait.
Thank you you should do it. I figured it would help the regular viewers get oriented and know what I was talking about or where I am at a certain point.
You are an awesome couple, and I loved the map and tour! You two are very organized and great at explaining your layout there. I really wish all the “homesteader/off-girders” I watch would do the same! It really helps a person to better understand your situation. I also appreciate the organization your video list. That's something it seems like no one else thinks of doing.
what a lovely video (both the views and your lovely wife!) you definitely got an excellent massive patch of land there! now i see why you built the 5 star cabin there! the views really add to it (seeing the whole lot... literally! lol) the bridge over the creek sounds like an awesome idea! 😊 it'll need one heck of a lot of planning (well you built a cabin! doing that will probably be easier!!! lol) but it will be such a beaut of a creation! stay safe, stay well, drink too much tea! lol (well us lot over here uk side do! lol) cant wait for the next vid and a big ty for sharing the views with us 😊🍻

Yea, that has tempted me as well, but I just enjoy it seasonally. It's even tough to walk up there in the summer once everything is in full bloom/growth.

It's a really neat piece of property. That which makes it difficult to farm, makes it great to hike & enjoy in other ways.
I agree, thats what we like about it
