I have a HS Exclusive Auto and I love it! I like the new design but I’m disappointed that they’ve done away with the sunroof I do like the extra tinted windows in the back as they do get very hot inside in the summer, I’m also disappointed that they didn’t change the interior a bit, Not that there’s anything wrong with the current model inside, I like your review of the new MG.

Great review, thanks very much. Been looking for an updated HS to compare to similar vehicles. Returning my Grandland X before Xmas, and think I'm going to replace it with one of these. Motability want almost 4x the AP they did in 2020 for the same spec Grandland I have now.

Great video.. A few pointers. Rear seats are adjustable! You had them in the recline position. Same as the centre console. It slides forwards to give you more support. Also the interiors are diffent between either models.

PHEV model will arrive later this year. Although will not have a sunroof as been discontinued across all models
Yous mention a few times re/sunroof on the mg ive just bought a zs model and have the sunroof absolutely love it salesteam had said no more cars where being made with said extra.

front center arm rest slides forward if you want it to and the seats look like they are in the tilted position, they can tilt forward. Lack of sunroof for me means I will be sticking with mine which is a shame as one of the reasons I choose the car.
UK website states Panoramic Roof for the phev, i assume that is fakse then?

A hood honest presentation by a young person, he points out the positive and negative aspects of the vehicle, congratulations to him. The comment of no sunshine roof is a valid one, MG are certainly setting new standards of design and the word value is uppermost in most man/woman in the street.

I chose one of these for my company car, based on all the reviews, it's a good car, lots of toys and does what I need.
But 3 little things, 1 the speed indicator is on the left, takes some getting I'm use to, 2 the heated seats are either on or off, no settings, 3 no DAB radio. Very odd, there's an adapter in the glove box, no idea why or how it works, other than that it's a great car

Can anyone tell me if the steering wheel has reach and rake? I’ve noticed in most MG’s I’ve looked at they only have rake, and that’s a no deal for me because I have really long legs and need the steering wheel close to me 😂

Why there is no sunroof? Mine have it.. strange..
Hope they’ve improved the heating & cooling system. Footwell heater is pathetic the air is simply not hot enough on highest setting and takes hours for your feet to get warm. Air Con is not cold enough on hot days blasting it to setting 5 to just about stay cool but you’ll have to put up with fan noise. Also they’ve gone and stuck the DAB Ariel on the inside front windshield making it easy to get damaged when cleaning. Other then that it’s a very decent car, nice interior, looks very stylish.
Back seats are adjustable so you can sit up a little more. May wanna add that In
How does 463 litres of boot space compare in cubic feet? Im old fashioned.
I’m in Arizona and I see MG’s from Mexico driving around our state. I wish we could buy the MG here in the US. It would be nice to have something different than a regular Toyota, Honda or Ford to choose from.
don't knock Toyota or Honda they will out last this MG HS tenfold, its a cheap car build for people who cant afford a new Toyota Rav or a Honda CRV, that the reality that everyone wants you to ignore. People in the UK don't buy these cars anyway they get them on PCP lease agreements they undercut the established manufacturers or a given out to Disabled people as Motability cars. This is bargain basement motoring.
@@Azureecosse bargain basement motoring isnt a bad idea. American manufacturers have stopped producing cheaper cars and overall its made buying a car, new or used, an expensive proposition and almost unattainable for younger folks or people of moderate means. I’ve owned a Honda and German cars as well as an Alfa Romeo. They all have their place in the market for sure.

This isn't a car I have ever considered but we were in the process of looking for a new one as we needed more space and I happened to find myself in an MG showroom.....I couldn't beleive the quality of the interior of the HS , heated adjustable leather seats , electric folding door mirrors , reclining back seats , soft touch material throughout the cabin , adaptive cruise control , electric tailgate ( automatic only) , drive modes ( automatic only), ambient lighting throughout the whole cabin and a whole host of other on board tech...I really think a lot of other manufacturers could learn a thing or two from MG when it comes to interior spec ..then take the Kia sportage se entry level model for instance which is basically 5 seats and a steering wheel and that's your whack yet its £2000 more than the MG top spec trophy .....I'll take the MG thanx

Brakes are spongey. And that rear view mirror blocks so much front windscreen view. What the hell were they thinking. Quite sluggish too

I like the old look better, it had a more classic look. This modern frint doesn't really work with the classic back.

This car tax is for first year only, paid for by dealer. Reverts to £180 from 2nd year onwards.

Auto tailgate is only available in the automatic version. No extra charge. Shame it isn’t on all models but at least you can get it on an auto model
That's quite a lot for your money. I do wish the external styling was up there with the Tucson and Sportage but maybe that's just my own subjective view.

I want to know why this vehicle is so affordable.. ? It is manufactured in China where Labour costs are lower and no doubt there are subsidies to take into consideration ( level laying field syndrome ). Is Chinese manufacturing reliable..? British name made in PRC.......

Great car. Be wary of the dab radio, it is an add on and you cannot have fixed stations. Big let down. I would rather have fewer gimmicks and have a decent DAB radio.

They are not real MGs it is only a badge on a mass produced Chinese car! And the Electric version cars in my estimation are going to be a disaster, but only time will tell!

The guy has a regional accent, what would you like him to do? Have to ask, you went and saw the car, picked a colour and got excited, and was put off by someone's accent on a video? This video is perfectly concise, honest and tells no untruths. I'd happily buy a car from him.

Just came back from Italy, had one of these as a hire car for 4 days, what can I say!wow, what a piece of shit. A fake feeling Chinese tin can of a car, with what felt like a lawnmower engine in it. A total rip off of a merc interior. And after 3 days, came to drive it, and the battery was flat. Brand new car, 10k miles on it. Not only that the Sat nav’s, Android auto/Apple car play, totally doesn’t work. Also, nobody could get a phone signal in the car even at standing still, everyone’s sat nav’s were totally wigging out. It’s not an MG it’s a cheaply made Chinese car with an MG badge. I wouldn’t wish these cars on my worst enemy.

Isn't a new model as such it's a tweaked version , big carrots are the size, price and warranty . Sadly warranty isn't quite what it seems . The top of range now doesn't have a sunroof as do in1st world countries li!e Romania ,Cambodia ect ect. Also round town drivers won't like the petrol bills. Trust pilot reviews are quite damming 71% total , for aftersales problems/customer services.
So as a no brainer bargain its a 50/50
Garbage. MG are terrible, unreliable and fragile. They seemed to be designed by someone who does not even have a drivers license and is in the first year of an industrial design degree. Pure rubbish.
It’s a crap car though, terrible engine, poor economy, small boot, unreliable and good luck with the Mg service experience’.
You Remember....this Is not a english car but china car!!!...my brother chance clutch at 10000 Miles with Two times problems with Gear in 20000 Miles....its not reliability this chinaMG

@@omicSheep like 25.000 pounds are nothing ... right? ... i can name at least 10 cars (granted ... smaller) that will not break in 10000 miles ... so why should i buy headaches with my own money instead of purchasing something more reliable but slightly smaller?
He likes the DRLs. Hello...every car has them. It's the law. The chrome door handles are actually painted and the keyless entry wouldn't let him in. Why would anyone let an enthusiastic Yr 11 kid with poor communication skills post a car review?
We've already got a two year old VW Tiguan and have just taken delivery of a brand new HS Trophy. Only had it a few days but so far enjoying the experience. Infotainment seems a bit dated and not as easy to move through as the VW. Not taken it out through country lanes yet so can't comment on it's handling there. But around town it's a lovely ride and in many respects it rides over the poorly kept roads more comfortably than the Tiguan. Certainly deals with speed humps in a nicer way. Inside feels lovely and the use of materials isn't far off in terms of touch and feel to the VW. Front seats are really comfortable and I've already found it easier to get a comfy seating position than I did with the Tiguan. The kids have said the rear seats seem very reclined although all three of them have said it seems bigger in the rear. The same can be said with the boot which is again much larger than the Tiguan. I went into the MG dealership not really expecting a great deal as I based my expectations on the first of the Chinese offerings from the brand. Really really impressed with the paint finish. So smooth with zero orange peel effect and the panel gaps look to accurate tolerances. So far............both hugely impressed with it and very very surprised how they have upped their game. I also can't believe what you get for the price either.
As someone who is starting the process of looking at new car options, primarily within the established premium brands, yours was a great viewpoint to read.
The only problem with this it is not 4wheel drive suv needs to be 4wheel also in my prefacelift HS had accident was bad written off no air bags came out which was dangerous the facelift won’t be any different
