Hi forgive me if this is a silly question I'm extremely new to all this, what would happen if all the masts went down would this radio still work in some way or another, thanks in advance.
Hi I've got the exact radio but for some reason it won't charge the charger is flashing red and green, before I had the charging problem I was getting a black screen and the only way I could get it back on again was to take the battery out and pop it back in again, is it possible to factory reset it? any information would be greatly appreciated thanks.
Do you happen to know anything about the enhanced and AES encryption of this radio? I don't seems to be able to the enhanced encryption. If enable the normal encryption it work just fine, bit the moment I enable enhanced, encryption stop working. Not to mention AES... I can't even find where to enable it on the radio or the programming software. Any idea?
Hello Mike, just found this as I have just acquired a used MD5. I have as you suggested downloaded the cps and the latest firmware update which was 1.13e, all that has gone according to plan but I cannot open the codeplugs. How did you open these and transfer to the radio. Any help appreciated. Ian
I just purchased this radio and I am a HAM newbie...I am looking for a step by step video on how to get started programming my radio...adding DMR contacts, local repeaters etc. Can someone help?
When my DJ-MD5T is in scan mode, there is a pop sound that comes out of the speaker at the end of any DMR transmission I am receiving. Sometimes it happens even when not in scan mode and also happens if the signal is cutting in and out. I also notice it when adjusting the volume. Anyone else have this issue or should I send it in for warranty repair since it is very annoying. Analog reception is fine.
@@mike-M0MSN Someone told me it happens on all the cheap Chinese radios when in promiscuous mode and I found that to be true on mine. Don't want to pay to ship it in for warranty service if it isn't fixable. Thanks for the reply.

Both DMR and Dual band FM 2/70 Great radio for the money, but a bit fiddly to use.

I used the Programming software and download the complete plug and installed it on the MD5 : from: www.nevadaradio.co.uk

Sounds like you may have an issue with the radio to me.... hope you can get it sorted :)

what are you using for the antenna on your HT?
Ken it called an Abree, found on Amazon
@@mike-M0MSN Is it designed to be folded like that? I would h ave thought it would kill the resonance of its original design.
It’s a tactical antenna, used by armed services, should be unfolded to transmit..
