I did the titan swap on my 14 xterra and the one thing I didn't like was the loss of my sway bars for highway driving otherwise it's amazing on the trail.
Make sure to keep extra titan swap r180 CVs around. I highly doubt they will break less than the current, shorter ones on 35s. Nice to see the m205 is still on the docket.
I just rebuilt the rear end in my titan and I say you can regear it. it’s not as hard as you think if you get the right tools you could do it in a weekend. I seen on another video you was talking the flex isn’t different with the lift I have ran no sway bar for 2 years with no problem and I also offroad almost every weekend here in Kentucky. Even if you don’t want to take it off I know people how just remove the end links when they get to the trail and put the back on after.
I don’t know if I have enough confidence to tackle a re gear. 😂 When i installed the Titan Swap, I removed the swaybar. Didn’t see a point in having it anymore.
Nice man! I bet the new setup will be much better. I'd say ditch the stupid mall crawler 35" tire / wheel combo. Try 33" or so... Maybe 16" wheel. More side wall for the tire.
@@rockie307 not a 35" tire in general. just that one looks like something you'd see on a stupid jeep or something. the frontier is not a huge/overly powerful vehicle. Adding massive wheel tire combo more than likely adversely affects performance, not helps it. prob part of the reason he kept breaking CVs. a 33" tire is about as big as I'd go on a frontier. any much bigger than that and you add lots of weight/stress to driveline/suspension components. I bet his wheel/tire setup weighs at least 75lbs per wheel/tires. maybe more. these trucks were not designed for that type of weight to be hanging off the axles.
What's up Aaron! So why this swap? The RC lift not working out for off-roading? If you could you do it again, would you skip Rough Country and go straight to Titan swap?
Well, the reason why I am swapping is because my goals with the truck has changed since installing the rough country kit. I think it’s still comes down to what your needs are. If I had no plans to leave, Florida in off-road, the rough country kid would be more than enough. Since Florida is flat and doesn’t require hardly any articulation, the Titan Swap is a worse option because it is less of a lift and you pay for a lot articulation that you’re not gonna use. In Florida, you simply need to get higher off the ground , which the rough country kit does a great job of.
Yeah that would work.. I mean, to be real..If I gotta buy new rims and tires for the third time, my wife will never touch my dick again.. idk if I can deal with that, ya know ? 😂😂😂 might have to make these tires work..
Couple questions, would a 1 inch body lift help with the 35 inch tire clearance? Also, will the 6 inch lift be intact after it’s taken off? Can it be put into another truck? Answered my last question didn’t ya. lol.
The spacer will help but I don’t think it’ll be enough. Yup. All you’ll have to do is get extended brake line, otherwise it’ll all be intact and ready to use. I’ll reconfirm all this when the lift has been removed and I can see everything, but I’m 99.99% sure it’ll be fine..
Rock auto is way cheaper than auto part stores. I dont think you can get the 2022 frontier cv on there but for the m205 the cheapest is 50$ and the most expensive is 90$
I'm curious about the tire clearance, I'm hearing guys saying just the Titan swap alone with stock tires caused massive rubbing issues and had to cut allot of metal. I know you have already trimmed, probably more than anyone I have seen yet. I have a 5-1/4 lift and had to trim allot to clear 33's with +18 offset. It's kinda the only reason I haven't T swapped, I don't want to go through the hassle of trimming more, I get 8 months of snow where I'm at and need to protect the wheel wells from the salt.
@@4wdAdventurz It will be the sickest Frontier out there when your done, my advice is don't do the IMS shocks in the rear, I find my rear real stiff with IMS and stock leafs, I wish I went with the MRR, the IMS mid duty in the front feels fine for me.
Something you might want to consider, and Chad at All Dogs just did a video on their 3rd gen, is to go with a set of V8 Pathfinder rotors and calipers. Bigger tires = more rolling weight = need more time to stop. ruclips.net/video/UWvoQZisOtk/видео.htmlsi=UJq6qPAyvGc8Iuy9
Yes! I definitely want to do this. This is mainly way I was hesitant on keeping the stock 16” wheels. There would be no room for bigger rotors… after the diff is ready to go (hopefully by end of the year) this is on the list
@@4wdAdventurz I didn't realize you were on 16's. Yeah, 17's would be a must. As far as your diff's go, if you're going with a front locker, I'd do it while you're regearing it. No need to pay for a diff set-up twice. Buy once cry once...
Do you have any concerns about removing your sway bar for the swap? I want to do the swap but a lot of folks mention how bad the body roll is. My truck spends a lot of time on the road.
Not really. I have it partially removed now. One side is completely detached. So I would imagine it’s not doing anything currently. We’ll see how it feels with the new spring set up.. we’ll see how it goes 🤷🏼♂️
I’m looking to titan swap right now and am going back and forth between the dobinson ims and radflo 2.5. Did you get any info about either product that swayed you to make your final decision? What spring weight on your dobinsons did you go with?
From my understanding, the bushings on the radflo’s are a bit noisy in the Dobsons was a bit better in price. Went with the 220 spring rate. Probably should’ve went 110 but I was afraid the 110 wouldn’t be enough to handle a bumper and winch..
@@4wdAdventurzI’ve heard radflo is more desert runner/ race style shock while dobinson is more for overlanding but idk how accurate that is. I love the red springs tho!
@ Thanks for answering me 🙌, by buying only the Titan CVs, do they fit on the Frontier along with the control arms or do I have to change bearings or something additional? I appreciate all the information you upload on this channel, there is not much well-explained information.

As far as trimming, I would advise replacing your front bumper and doing essentially a "viper"-esque cut to give yourself plenty of clearance.
