  • Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US.
    The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

      The testimonies of Jesus are not actually eyewitness accounts, this isn’t normally taught by the average preacher during his sermons. (If unaware of this I would recommend you to find scholars within the New Testament area.) just the fact that some preachers, missionaries, & any other. who makes the claim that they were in fact “eyewitnesses “, they are in deed with holding information either on purpose or not knowing . The information they are withholding is that the eyewitness accounts were not actually eyewitness’s, rather they were people who claimed to have heard what happened from a eyewitnesses or they head it from someone who wasn’t . So the writers of the four gospels were not the disciples of Jesus nor eyewitness, but four people who make a claim that they heard the story themselves from an actual eyewitness. even worst is the fact that the four gospels are by four Anonymous people & the names we now know today were assigned to the gospels, we still don’t know for sure who wrote them. So to ask someone to trust the gospels you are asking them to trust who ever wrote the gospels, that’s not the same as saying just trust Jesus it’s by theses four people we get our view of Jesus. Now a little about Paul we know he came about 2 years after Jesus so Paul never met Jesus in real life, Paul did claim to have a vision of Jesus but Joseph Smith also made this claim so Paul’s words shouldn’t have been taken seriously. You should also do some checking on Paul to there’s a lot of information on him, as some of the earliest christians thought Paul was the Antichrist so it’s very interesting. christianity has a very complex history that I believe every person who wants to be Christian should know & be taught by the church just to be truthful about it, to me if anyone tried to hide the information above I would believe they are being dishonest. I was Christian till I was 33 but I no longer identify as one, this happened as I was studying trying to know Jesus & the Bible more so my heart was in the heart place but I came across to many problems within the stories for me to trust them.

      Subjects that are taught in school are based on observation (the senses) and the mind. God is beyond the mind and the senses and it takes more than observation (senses) and mind to get to have a relationship and experience God. So when Cliffe talks about love, integrity, Faith etc..He is trying to explain to them that science cannot prove these by science because they are not in the Realm of the senses. So, he explains to them that Jesus and the Bible are evidence and that by reading them and put our Faith in Christ (God), them the Holy Spirit will give us revelations. If you truly and honestly want to know the truth and humble Yourself and seek for it, you will find it. It's a heart issue, not just mind

    One of the most inner self, heart felt statements that Pastor Knechtle has ever made--
    "And it is absolutely amazing, that I in live a culture, where on a weekly basis, when I speak on University campuses, I have University students telling me, that either Science proves God exists or Science disapproves God's existence.
    They are so out to lunch sir, it is scary.
    It shows they don't understand Science. They don't understand Philosophy, they don't understand the question of God.

    The fact that we can question our instincts shows we are more than what nature alone otherwise we would be compelled to act on our strongest instincts which we don't we wouldn'tbe able to question them.
    A man's strongest instinct maybe to have sex with an attractive woman he sees her but he can ignore this instinct and follow his weaker one and leave her alone, evolution doesn't explain this according to evolution the man has to act on his instincts and it's not wrong because he's trying to survive and pass on his gene's.
    When in reality if a man rapes an atheists wife he won't accept the excuse that evolution determined him to do this and it's not his fault he has no free will and is lead by instincts. . that atheist would demand justice because he believes in a moral law.
    This ability which sets us apart from the animals... stops "the evolution alone" theory.

    At the end the young man stated that ethics is a result of evolution? Well that simply means that we developed a sort of herd morality from animals (most likely chimps and apes). But apes and chimps in their herd that kill and forcefully copulate (rape) are not considered immoral or evil, they would simply be socially inconvenient to the herd, just acting out of fashion; therefore, us, their evolved cousins who rape and kill are just acting out of fashion to the ways of our herd as well!! Thats the best atheistic ethics can deliver! There is no basis for labeling anything evil or immoral, as we are animals as well. The Bible gives a more sound foundation for morality.

We can “debate” whenever you want. I don’t need any advanced notice or anything else. I’m ready whenever you are. We can even do it Live on my RUclips channel. Normally, I just talk about the 49ers or sometimes battle rap entertainment. And aside from a short fan-made Niners commercial I posted two weeks ago, I haven’t really been active on that channel all year. But it’s my channel, and I can talk about whatever I want. It’s actually laughable to me honestly. The “smartest” people throw out all these lofty words, use a condescending tone, and try to introduce super-scientific terminology while simultaneously either implying or outright saying that the people who believe in God are brainwashed, stupid, or a combination of both. But every single time we debate, they look and sound absolutely retarded in front of everyone. And I always like to make sure it’s streaming Live. LoL! In the beginning of the encounters, the other party starts right out the gate with how intellectual they are, how much schooling/how many degrees they have… 100% of the time. But it doesn’t take long at all… like clockwork, the ad hominem attacks get started where the conversation becomes more about the “believers” than the topics. And since it’s Live, everyone gets to see the folly in real time and there’s no way to weasel out of it. You have my word that this won’t be different. The social media memes from atheist groups and the echo chambers where atheists gather to trade and parrot each other’s talking points do not and cannot help in the lion’s pit. And Googling things like “Bible contradictions” and opening THAT door leads to an uglier death when and because the people behind those websites don’t do their homework… so the people who just repeat it are in even more dangerous water by bringing up scriptures and points that hurt them. But yeah… Just let me know when and where. I can’t promise that you’ll walk away with your faith being placed in Christ afterwards… but I give you my word that ALL of your excuses for rejecting Christ will be exposed and taken away. By the end of it, you’re gonna have to either admit that you had it all wrong and change, or you’ll have to admit that you got it wrong but still want nothing to do with the Bible. Either one is fine with me. But understand that that’s 100% definite. Like I said, I’m not the smartest dude in the world. But 100% of the brilliant people with whom I’ve had the pleasure of having this conversation have ALL walked away with their worldview in shambles. Not because I’m smart… but because I have the easier job. You see, I have the truth on my side. So you’re fighting an uphill battle from the very start by defending a lie. It’s super easy on this side. And if you’re an actual seeker of truth and not debating for debate’s sake, and if your desire is about WHAT’S right instead of WHO is right or BEING right, your life is about to change; I promise you.

    Jesus being perfect is a stumbling block, but believing that DNA could come from nothing seems plausible. What a load of crap! I find most people don't like God because he chaps their hide. He tells people how they should live and that offends people. "They did not want to retain God in their knowledge" Romans 1:28 - I used to be patient with these people, but their mental gymnastics is starting to drive me nuts. I am sick of it.

      newygreek "How hard is it to accept a free, undeserved gift from God?" Really, really hard, that's the beauty of Gods grace. By making the path to salvation a narrow one, our journey reveals God through positive and negative experiences, each informing and shaping the other.
      I have a theory that a relationship with god, ultimately love, cannot be reached without the influence of evil to provide perspective and balance. That's not to say evil is good, it's to say it is necessary. It not only informs us of what's right, but allows human righteousness to prevail. This theory would make the devil just as important on our journey as Jesus because his presence allows us to recognise Christ more easily as our salvation. Like finding an exquisite rose among thorny bushes, it's going to hurt, but it will be worth it.
      Repent, turn from sin (Satan) and put your faith in Jesus, accept his sacrafice as your salvation and thank him. Most importantly, don't give up, Jesus will never give up on you. I think that feels like a good philosophy for me.
      God bless you Cliffe, my journey has been eased greatly by your clear and concise words.
      Peace and the love of Christ to you all. God bless.

    I love the way Cliffe debates these kids on a lot of major topics but I have one HUGE disagreement with him on how he goes about trying to bring them to Christ which is one big reason why these kids dont seem to get the need for a saviour & far too often just compare Jesus to other great men in human history. You have to help these college kids understand that they are living in opposition with God because they have broken His law repeatedly & now commands ALL MEN EVERYWHERE to repent(Acts 17:30,31). Christ came to sacrifice himself to save us from the condemnation of the law for all those who believe in him based off of his work on the Cross & not off the fact that he was a historical figure who had an excellent ministry & sinless life that can be verified through the research of the gospels, historical texts & eye witness accounts.

    Cliffe talks about the fine tuning of the universe , but in reality, we humans have only been on this planet for a fraction of it's existence, if you go back to our early ancestors they had to struggle to survive in a very harsh environment. It was mankind's ability to make tools and weapons which gave us that edge over other animals and our brain capacity which helped us survive. There is little evidence that this planet was fine tuned specifically for us, rather, it was our ability to adapt to it's harsh conditions which helped make us who we are today.

    • @bonnie43uk
      @bonnie43uk 8 лет назад

      AquarianValkari I think the Garden of Eden story was exactly that, a story, there is no basis for fact.. and there are quite a few questions which crop up when you read the story in Genesis. Here's one which puzzles me, when God banishes Adam and Eve for disobeying him regarding taking the fruit from the tree of knowledge, he places an angel and a flaming sword at the gate to prevent them returning. Why didn't God place the angel and the flaming sword around the tree of knowledge to prevent them from getting near it if he was so concerned about it. He does the exact opposite in fact, he places a serpent which even the bible states is 'more subtle than any other beast', so God knew full well Eve would be deceived by this deceitful talking snake. It's a little like placing a hand grenade in a room full of 3 year old children, and telling them not to pull the pin... then putting a man in the room telling the 3 year old it's ok to pull the pin. What do you think is going to happen?

    The biblical Definiton of faith translates it as the assurance of things hoped and the EVIDENCE of things NOT seen!
    No, we don't need to see the holes in His HANDS or see the future in Heaven, nor see the tomb where He laid but we believe because God has drawn us to Him and this revelation saves us as we put our faith in the One He has raised from the dead and lives in Heaven on the right side of the Father.
    John 20: 25 ...But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
    John 20: 29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
    When you preach about evidence you take away from God being the deciding factor of your belief.

      You said that Jesus said to "blindly believe" and then you go on to quote Jesus NOT saying to "blindly believe". Yes, he says that those who "believe without seeing are blessed" but he does not go on to say "therefore, you must blindly believe". In fact, he provides Thomas with the evidence. The Bible tells us to not only examine our fellow man but to even examine ourselves to ensure that there is no hypocrisy or deception within us. Have you never heard the scripture "Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear."? (1 Peter 3:15). If we were truly called to blindly believe then we would not have a reason for the hope that is in us. Having a reason for something and given that reason as an answer is akin to providing evidence. We are called to be skeptical. If you have never read the Bible in its full context please don't quote from it because it makes you look ignorant.

      @@martinlag1 i think that quote from Bible has an intention of saying that even though you cant see something, does not mean it doesnt exist. And that faith comes to play when we are talking about believing in something that is untangible (non materialistic things). When we believe God eventho we cant see him visually, it means we have strong convictions as well as faith and God appreciates that. Also faith (at least on my definition as well as Cliff's) isnt believing blindly, which is contrary to a lot of people's beliefs. Faith is believing in something that has evidence it exists as well as value.

    • @martinlag1
      @martinlag1 3 года назад

      @@JoeMama-sd2kl There are two definitions of faith being used and this is misleading. In my opinion, when Thomas touches the wounds of Jesus, he no longer needs faith because he has evidence.
      It seems to me that if you have evidence, you do not need faith. The definition used by you (''Faith is believing in something that has evidence'') and Cliff, and many Christians, is cheeky in my opinion. I guess my view is that faith is blind, technically.
      Now, in the real world, we assess claims based on a combination of faith (without evidence) and evidence (by seeing). You use both methods, which is fair enough, but to call it all faith, is not.

    Cliffe at 2:00: "Christ did not say blindly believe. Christ said use your mind, use your critical thinking." Where does Jesus say anything remotely like that? Instead, we read Bible verses like Proverb 3:5: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."
    Jesus does talk about not being deceived by false prophets in the end times in Matthew 24:24. And then ironically, he then makes a false prophecy about the end times 10 verses later: "Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." That generation did pass, and those things did not happen. So I'm going to use my critical thinking to conclude that Jesus was a false prophet. Is that the Christian thing to do?
