I bought a 2015 limited AWD Platinum Highlander and absolutely love it. I agree with you, Sam the screen is often in the sun and gets washed out. The only thing I've found that remotely helps is keeping the panoramic visor closed during the afternoon hours. I'm 6'4" and don't have a problem reaching the infotainment system, but it will definitely be an issue for shorter drivers. I've found the voice interactive feature and the steering wheel controls do a lot to mitigate how often you have to lean forward to touch the screen. I'd say about 90% of the functions can be accomplished without ever touching the screen that way. On a 360 mile trip to Dallas, I averaged exactly 24mpg hwy as advertised. That mpg rating was achieved without cruse control and strictly following the speed limit since I was breaking in the engine. Bottom line, this is a great family vehicle if safety, reliability, practicality, and comfort are at the top of your list.

Timely review, Sam! We are looking at this and other vehicles in the segment as a new family vehicle. I test drove the LE with the 4 cyl., and really liked it. Looking forward to testing the 6 cyl.

I really like that they have gotten away from the orange colored lights on the dash (instrument panel) in my opinion, the white provides a more clear and brighter crisp experience and looks great.
I also like the new rear of this car. The rear and interior are major selling points for me on a car and I am glad to see the Highlander back in the list of vehicles that I would consider.

I wish you would test the audio quality of the stereo, which is turning into a big deal with automakers. Other reviews of the HIghlander state that the premium JBL system is pretty bad, with the doors rattling at even moderate volume levels. That's a disappointment and just about a deal breaker, because Kia has I think a 600 watt system in their crossover that sounds awesome and the Dodge Durango has enlisted Dr. Dre to have the "beats by Dre" sound system that is supposed to sound really awesome. They even have TV commercials advertising the system. The Toyota JBL Greenedge system is a major disappointment, with some professional reviewers saying that it's a major engineering overlook on Toyotas part as well as JBL.

Good review, but a little nerve wracking that you look directly at the camera for long periods of time while you're driving at speed."....
