I knew these games would be rare, expensive, and valuable one day - Игры
It's hard to predict what will become rare and valuable.
Best thing to do is simply buy the games you are interested in and whatever happens, happens.
Modern games become valuable these days for all the wrong reasons.
You're absolutely right! I only buy games that I want to play. If I didn't, my backlog would be completely full of stuff I was dreading.
"I buy these games not to flip them but to play them" followed by a montage of "this one's still sealed, I haven't played it yet" was hilarious
Dude, it's hard when you play everything randomly!
I'm the same way. I buy more games than I have time to play and don't open them until I play them.
Super Mario 3D all-stars on Switch had a limited print run and was delisted from the eShop. I'm glad I picked it up at launch because it's worth quite a bit now.
That's a classic one! I still see it around here all the time for retail price. But in other places, it's as rare as hen's teeth 😁
Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but some big retailers in Canada reprinted The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince (Video Games Plus, Shopville, and PNP Games). So now anyone can get a standard PS4 or NSW copy for $50. I imagine the collector’s edition is still very rare though.
I think I saw that VGP reprinted it! I've actually bought a few of their releases. I'm happy they're doing it.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I bought the Project Rainfall games when they came out. I loved Xenoblade Chronicles, so when the eBay price went up to around $120 used and GameStop was selling used copies for $85, I bought a couple more copies and let my friends borrow them. Turns out GameStop allegedly reprinted them unsealed and sold them as used at higher then retail price (only difference with the reprint version was case). I'm glad more people got to experience the game, but I lost money.
Ouch! Yeah, the reprinting controversy with Xenoblade was a huge deal at the time. I was very upset about it. Luckily, I only bought the one copy of my game. Sorry they got you!
Yeah I remember that shady crap the cheapest copy I saw Xenoblade Chronicles was around $70 used I ended up picking up the new 3DS (not too many people talk about that version) and the switch version instead
I still can't believe gamestop did that...
@@ladynikkie I picked up those versions as well. Even got the U.S., Europe and Japan collector editions of Switch release when it came out. That's the best version.
i thoroughly enjoyed this video. like holy cow. great idea. very edge of my seat content. 10/10
Thank you so much for the kind comment. I'm so glad you liked the video. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment!
Every time I look at Atlas I think it will be expensive in the future.
Me, too! Because they usually are!
11 sealed Neo Geo AES games that were going between £20- 50 in 2008. Now going for between £300 to £700 according to price charting. Biggest regret that I didn't buy a sealed Andro Dunos for £80 now going over thousand.
Ouch! That's a painful one. Andro Dunos, especially...
I bought a stack of NeoGeo MVS games for around $280 a few years back.... I got lucky.
Great stuff. I’ve never bought with collectibility in mind. However, I have always sought out lesser known titles and I’ve recently caught the jrpg bug and I’m stocking up on those for PSP and Switch.
Thanks! I've always sought out lesser known titles as well. Now seems like the time to grab rpgs on the PSP. It's flying under the radar!
You mentioned Limited Run Games briefly. I think 95% of their catalogue will be +-15% of MSRP by the time the PS6 generation has gotten going. Some of the smaller limited print companies will have wallet busters though. It will be interesting to see how forced collectability games perform against organic collectability games.
That's a good point! We'll have to wait and see. There is already some disdain for limited run out there. I know some stores and vendors that refuse to have anything limited run... because they've been burned with their investments.
I agree about the smaller print run companies
it depends in my comment above I was talking House in Fata Morgana and that got to 3k bucks at a certain point
I'm sure I have a few games that are a lot more expensive today than the day I bought them, but I only picked them up because I wanted to play them :)
Same here! I rarely pick up games that I don't want to play.
Yea, Lumo was available at Wal-mart and Toys R Us sealed, so there are a lot out there .
I did a little research after your comment. It looks like it eventually made its way to a bunch of retailers. But, it was limited at the beginning
I was able to get Liar Princess And The Blind Prince limited edition for the ps4 for 13 bucks used at GameStop , I was blown away and even the GameStop employee was confused why it was so cheap 😂😂
That's a deal and a half for sure! Those are so rare these days.
Would be nice to get videos of recent pick ups that you think are going up in value. You could always revisit in a year or two to see how you did.
Games today seem a lot harder to find those golden needles in the haystack. We have so many indie and unique titles coming out all the time.
That's a good idea! I do tons of pickup videos, so maybe I'll mention it when in get one that in think is going to go up.
Thanks for the suggestion!
2:20 ("Spectral Force 3")
Geez, that brings back some memories. I apologize in advance cause I'm going on a full on tangent here. I rarely ever see this series brought up so I barely ever get the chance to talk about it.
There's actually quite the history behind that game. Well, more so based on what it is part of, a larger brand called "Neverland".
"Neverland" itself is a surprisingly massive yet relatively unknown franchise by Idea Factory that spans all the way back to 1996 up until the last entry released in I think 2012/2013. It is primarily divided into two main sub-series, "Spectral Force" (typically SRPGs) and "Generation of Chaos" (real-time-ish army simulators with SRPG elements). There have also been various spin-offs like a fighting game crossover between the two, "Spectral vs Generation", and a strategic card game called "Neverland Card Battles". And of course, they are all connected to each other so you'd see the same characters show all over the place, like the main heroine Hiro.
While the vast majority of this series still remains JP only, some scant few entries did manage to actually get released world wide, primarily their PSP ports. They didn't review all that well unsurprisingly so they are often regarded as trash games by most people. I actually grew up playing a number of them so, despite their jank and technical issues, I have a very particular fondness for this franchise regardless of the general reception it has. I especially like the main artist and character designer, Katsuyuki Hirano. As well as one of the composers, Kenji Kaneko.
Funnily, it was also featured in a couple of crossover games such as the infamous "Chaos Wars" (PS2) and "Cross Edge" (PS3/XBox360). The former including characters from "Shadow Hearts", "Growlanser", "Gungrave", and so on while the latter includes characters from "Disgaea", "Darkstalkers", "Mana Khemia", "Ar Tonelico", and so on.
Sadly, given how long ago the last entry was, the franchise is more or less finished. Idea Factory has since moved on from developing RPGs proper and kind of just makes Otome now. Quite successful Otome apparently, some even have gotten anime adaptions, but it's not really my area of interest. Instead, their subsidiary, Compile Heart, have taken over the developing reigns. Their first couple of games, such as "Record of Agarest War" and the aforementioned "Cross Edge", took heavy inspiration from "Neverland". To the point of outright reusing the same mechanics and enemy units wholesale. Even Katsuyuki Hirano and Kenji Kaneko, surprise surprise, also both worked on them. Both still work under CH to this day. Though now CH is primarily known for the "Hyperdimension Neptunia" series which itself has a lot of references to "Neverland" as well.
The more you know...tangent over. Sorry about that.
Thanks for the detailed comment. I wish I had enough time to answer it in more detail. I appreciate the effort you put into it.
I'm familiar with idea Factory and Compile Hearts as developers/publishers. I have a lot of their games. But, I had no idea about the Neverland series. Spectral force 3 has been in the backlog forever... and I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Thanks for your support!
Don’t worry. 3D dot game heroes will go back up when they decide to close the store down again
On one hand, I'm glad that it'll get its value back. On the other hand, I'm bummed that fewer people will get to play it because it's such an amazing game
We in a weird time in video games. Normally like 15 years after a systems lifespan is when games go up in value. Normally when the people that grew up with that console get old enough to have disposable income. But....covid screwed it all up, used game market went nuts, Operation Darkness was hard to find under $100 a year ago. Plus with chip shortage systems staying in mix longer. ps5 is like 3 year olds now and there is stuff coming out for ps4 slated for next year still. So I think your gut is still right just taking longer to get there.
You make a good point! Covid really did change the way we think about collectibles. Also, Limited Run Games didn't help either!
Hopefully, things will get back to normal eventually!
Fun video. Yeah man, I'd be up for more of these type of videos. Maybe make it a regular thing.
I can do that! Thanks for watching!
Yeah, predicting rarity is definitely a tough nut to crack. Think it's almost always a sure thing when you bet on RPG and survival horror even if they don't gain value then they usually at least hold it. I've been able to predict a few that I'm happy we picked up. Black sigil on the DS we got for $70 is now worth nearly $190 Canadian.
Although we never ever keep anything sealed, we did pick up a Canadian variant of Zelda to the adventure of link. We spent $500 on that and it's worth almost $1400 or more because it's the Canadian variant we're not sure.
Thanks for watching and commenting! RPGs, these days, can be harder to predict. But survival horror is usually a safe bet.
Those are some sweet pieces that you were able to grab for a decent price!
TIL I learned that they remade Secret of Mana.... I need to go play that immediately
They totally did! It's supposed to be decent, too.
Awesome stuff as alway's buddy. And a really good topic , I think you did well on predicting the value :) Also i never seen or played that Lumo game before but asoon as you showed gameplay it instantly reminded me of Batman on the ZX Spectrum. Then you mentioned the ZX spectrum strait after hahaha. Look's like a great game i used to play Batman alot :D
And yeah it would be awesome if you did more of these type of video's buddy keep up the good work :)
I'm glad you liked the video! The ZX Spectrum isn't something we had here. So it's a bit of an oddity to us. I'm glad I've gotten to experience it over the years. I haven't gotten to play the batman game though
@@RNGGamerYT Yeah the good old speccy was a UK thing buddy hahaha. Im glad you have got to play it tho it is a great computer :) And you should try Batman if you can im sure you would enjoy it even giving how old it is now lol.
One ps2 I regret selling back before retro gaming was big. Blood will Tell by Sega. Wish they would just remaster it on modern counsels. I don't want to pay 300 hundred dollars. I think I paid 30 original.
That's one of the ones that had eluded me. It's a bummer you got rid of it. It's high on my want list.... maybe I'll grab it soon
I think some of these commenters don't understand what predict means.
A prediction isnt a guarantee. Its an eductated assumption.
And he was spot on with all of these, ESPECIALLY Operation Darkness.
Thanks! I really appreciate your support. It means the world to me
What’s the game you’ve purchased that’s gone up the most including limited run. I’m amazed at how much a couple of mine have gone up.
I'd have to do some research to find out. Some of them have definitely gone up a ton!
Cool concept for a video, I hope you make this a reoccuring/regular series or at least do a few more episodes down the line!! I enjoy seeing the thought process as to why you may have "speculated" or if your main motivation was to play at a fair price before it becomes unattainable etc. - and TBH, besides Xenoblade I'm not sure if I've I heard of any of those other games haha so it's cool to also learn about them. Also good job showing some L's instead of only W's...outside factors like reprinting def can alter the original thinking so yeah I guess it's a crapshoot with certain releases on them losing value, can't always win! I feel like there might be some examples of this with certain games but the 1st print , or later printing type designations seem to be less important to gamers/videogame collectors unless it's really high end vintage stuff or popular franchises...otherwise, its about rarity/limited quantities in the market direction I feel...there's always exceptions of course. As someone who also collects comics and other collectibles - which printing or edition seems to be a lot more important even at lesser value/newer item levels by comparison to gaming. I think for me personally LRG, Strictly Limited, I-Am-8-bit, Premium Edition Games, and a few others have roped me into a bit of speculation/FOMO on indie titles that I had no prior knowledge/anticipation around, and that doesn't always work out as far as value but sometimes it definately does. At the same time, with LRG especially its been a way to get some more premium editions of games for larger franchises I am a big fan of (TMNT, Star Wars, etc. etc.) so I think it's all up to the individual on whether you see value in those type of releases or not. I agree with you that the last 2 years and even now has been the best time to pickup the XBox 360 and PS3 gen/era games on the DL/lower side before they start becoming more sought after by collectors - with the 360 e-shop/store closing down next year, i think those physical games could see the same spike that physical 3DS and WiiU games experienced on the Nintendo side. Overall for the games you decided to show here that's a pretty nice gain percentage wise for not owning the games for THAT long in the end, and you seem to eventually want to play everything so that's just a bonus to the gaming experiences along the way. Do you tend to sell the games you play but don't truly enjoy much afterwards, if THOSE games go up in value, then even better haha!! Great video dude! have a good one
Dude! Thanks so much for the amazing comment!
I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know how you feel. I would love to reply to each and every part of it, but youtube won't let me view the comment as I'm replying to it. If I try to look at it, it makes me discard everything I've already written. So, I'll do my best to answer from memory.
I would be happy to make this a regular series. I am surprised that you enjoyed it. This was kind of an "experimental" video idea that I threw together right before filming. I was going to do my PS2 collection video... but there just wasn't time. My daughter was lying on the couch just out of frame during filming, and she had a pretty bad cold.
I love sharing my thought process on things. My intuition seems to be pretty good, so I have more wins than losses.
I never really get rid of games from the collection. Even if I don't like them, I just stick them on the shelf. It's still a memory, even if it isn't a positive one.
I guess I would consider selling some games if I was running out of room, but luckily, I still have a fair amount of space. Sp, that isn't a necessity yet.
People have asked why I don't sell them in order to buy other games... and the truth is, since I play everything randomly, I'm not really in a hurry to pick up anything. Also, I don't really "need" the money to buy the games. I already pick up more stuff than I can play.
Thanks so much for all of your support. Early next month, your next sponsored segment is coming up. I'll get with you about selecting the video
You should do a show on how many your collection cost compared to what it's worth.
Also what options are there for you if you decided to sell your collection, should you sell whole or I'm lots or not at all.
My collection currently sits at around £34,500 or $42,000
I actually have something like that planned for the future! But, I never plan on selling it
I have a few rare games some of them are from the Nintendo 3ds my rarest is fire emblem Fates collector's edition in shin megami tensei strange journey redux (it's supposedly the rarest of the titles) I'm glad I bought them day one
I managed to get the Fire Emblem Fates Collector's Edition, but I totally missed out on SMT Strange Journey. I wish I had grabbed it. I'm glad you were able to snag some copies.
@@RNGGamerYTdon't feel bad I know how you feel I missed out on smt4 and apocalypse at my local Walmart that was the best place to get clearance games at the time 😂
I picked up the liar princess and the blind prince as well. I first thought of getting it after the sequel came out.
Have you had a chance to play it yet? I'm glad you were able to find a copy
@@RNGGamerYT
I played some if the cruel king and the great hero but not the Liar princess and the blind prince. It’s a very interesting game, it’s just not really my type of game.
@eternity9099 I understand! I'm curious to see how I feel about it as well
If you're looking for value increases, horror games and Atlas.
...And I like to go ahead and grab the top ten in price games for each console as it becomes 2 generations behind= that timing lets the rare/wanted identify themselves, but they haven't fully matured in value yet.
The most rare and sought after games on every system are always the ones that keep going up as time goes on.
Yeah, I think we're all aware of horror and Atlus games!
That's a great idea grabbing the top 10 highest priced games once the become 2 generations old. I'm totally going to do that! Thanks for letting me know!
And thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Great video mate! I have not been collecting for long, so it's great to hear some insight into what you think will make a game valuble in the future. I have no interest in selling either, but would rather grab them while they're cheap!
Surely 3d dot game heroes will go back up. I reckon Sony will rethink the closure of the ps3 store now that microsoft is shutting the 360 store, so the price will probably explode again!
Thanks for watching! I'm surprised you haven't been collecting for long. I assumed you had been doing it forever.
I'm sure 3D Dot Game Heroes will continue to go up. I'm just surprised that it market corrected itself so quickly.
My question would be if you have a game cube or 3ds collection. This consoles are getting just ridiculously expensive and alot of the switch games are gonna be really valuable in the future.
I have both! I did a gamecube collection video a while back.
They are two of the most popular consoles to collect for at the moment, for sure.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I pick up a lot of lower print games, not to hope the value will go up for me but as worry that one day I wont be able to afford them. I do actually have the 428 game but haven't played it yet
That's exactly how I feel!
Thanks for the awesome video,
Thanks for watching!
As an NES collector I appreciate what you did at 00:17.
I'm glad you liked that! Shatterhand is a great game!
I’ve got a few I’m banking on but I never keep any of mine sealed I have a shooter called Endo crisis
A side scrolling shooter Hunt down and a Roguelite Scourgebringer all I think are rare PS4 physical releases
I'm familiar with all of those. I grabbed Endo Crisis when it came out, but passed on the others for some reason.
I agree that they will definitely go up in value.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Funny you didn't mention
rule of rose for ps2.
I see it on your shelf in the background😂
Thst's one i picked up at a hastings in 2010 for $45.
The two appealing factors to me was it's a horror game with a dog sidekick (i own haunting ground as well) plus i was curious cause i've never seen or heard anything about the game before.
I didn't make it over to that side of the room yet! I just picked games from 1 shelf!
@@RNGGamerYT lol that's cool.
Impressive collection of games you have.
I have a collection as well.
Mostly ps1/ps2/ps3 games.
I've been gaming since the 80's when i was 6.
I wish i held onto to those og boxes to those old carts and manuals but you don't think about that when you're a kid.😅
I started being more mindful about that as i got older and almost every one of ps games is complete and in good condition.
You had an interesting video my friend.
Will check out more of your content.
Do you do game reviews on your channel as well?🙂
I picked that 3D dot game heros for like $60-70 when it was $90-100 a couple years back. The price of a new game so problemo. Gambling on appreciation, I have only bought a few including Metroid Dread SE, Mario 3D Collection, and A Limited Run Style physical of Deedlit In Wonder Labyrinth (Lodoss). Some of the cheapest I bought having no idea they were going to appreciate were GC back in early 2005 on clearance. Glad I kept the old stickers on them from EB games because most are just slightly under or over $100 and I paid under $20 for each (Wind Waker, Zelda Collection, Metroid Primes, Eternal Darkness).
This comment is like a litany of incredible games! I'm glad you found some good ones.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Gravity rush remastered on the ps4 increased a lot and I bought it for like 20 dollars when it came out
That's a good one! I think I grabbed it at like $75 or something. It was the most I ever paid for a new game that wasn't a collector's edition!
I got both Pandoras Tower and The Last Story sealed thinking they would skyrocket and bought used copies so I wouldn't devalue them lol.
Are the sealed copies holding up in value? I bet they are. It seems like you did the right thing to me.
Thanks for watching!
Both were over 100 last year and now they're around 75 🤔
That's strange! There must still be a lot of sealed copies around. I checked just now, and an open copy is $70, down $6 from last week. Sealed is $73, down from $84 last week. That's for pandora's tower
It doesn't happen to me often but, I've been able to buy a few games in the past that in fact have gone up in price or straight up just hard to find them period; there is a darts game for the PS2 darts championship or something, is not extremely expensive but really hard to find on the PS2, Wii and psp, I found it on PS2 first time Ive seen the game so I picked it up thinking that it was rare and i was right about it been rare.
Project s-11 on the gameboy color back in 2015 the game was going literally for 2 or 3 dollars loose, it seemed like an interesting title a shoot em up by sunsoft I knew sunsoft during the nes up until the Gameboy color era was well known for the music they put out on their games so I was hoping it had a good soundtrack and maybe decent gameplay and that is exactly what I got ! I didn't know why it was so cheap but I really enjoyed it, the soundtrack is amazing very ambitious for the hardware limits in my opinion; the game suddenly shot up in price a year or two after I bought it, it is a 50 to 60 now loose.
Those are some good ones that even I don't have! I'll have to check out the darts game. You don't get a chance to play those too often.
Congrats on finding some games that were able to add some value to your collection.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@RNGGamerYT the darts game is rare but It should not be crazy expensive, eBay would be your best bet, they were going for 20 to 30 a few years ago.
Project s-11 on the Gameboy color is a good vertical shoot em up, the soundtrack I believe has been uploaded to RUclips if you want to listen to it, and btw really enjoyed the video thank you for that.
@CarlosCruz-kj3ph if it's a shmup, I have to grab it!
Great video. I really enjoyed it. I'm not shocked at all about secret of mana ps4. It received hate by gamers. The original is loved. I do want to get the ps4 game just so I can have it. I buy games that i want not because they might become expensive someday. But thats just me. But i get it. Persona 3 and 4 are soon getting LRG physical copies for switch. I know the originals are up there in price. I want the switch versions for sure just to have them. Its awesome they are getting physical releases on switch.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I shouldn't have been surprised about the remakenof secret of mana... the writing was on the wall.
It's really cool that they are releasing P3P. Luckily, I already have it on the PSP, so I'll be skipping this one. I'm looking forward to the remake though
I picked up Rule of rose at GameStop because of the same reason- I thought it looked cool and could be rare one day. Boy was I right. I can’t remember what I paid, it was an open copy maybe 25 bucks?
You got a killer deal! I'm glad your intuition was correct
I wish I could have found it for $25!
@@RNGGamerYT I almost didn’t buy it because I thought it was too expensive for a game I knew nothing about lol. Brigandine for ps1 was another game I bought on a whim at GameStop. Just looked like a cool ps1 rpg. That one’s actually one of my favorite games to this day. Just glad I held on to this stuff over the years
@imjohnny5322 brigandine is an incredible game! I'm glad I got it when I did. I think I paid $50. The deal you got was incredible!
@@RNGGamerYT agreed man! Brigandine is one of those I can come back to any time and get totally sucked into. Not much of a story, but such a fun game and hours of replay-ability.
well let's say u can predict how likely it is 4 a game to become rare but u need data and normally that data is unavailable so our predictions are imprecise. What you cannot predict is whether some blogger manages to turn an unknown game into a hidden gem ... example: Centennial Case is a square enix game that as a physical release is Asia exclusive and already rare there too (I imagine very few copies?). People all over RUclips started raving about it already (not sure why the acting id dreadful - also very funny). Earth's Dawn, quite a mediocre game but it starts being now sold as a hidden gem in the last months.. then obviously nobody could predict that House in Fata Morgana would hit 3k bucks, it takes a wizard to do that! ;)
also remakes and remasters - as u say with xenoblade - are a big variable as they bring the price of the originals down.. but we know they'll never remaster Centennial case right? ;) Well.... they remastered deadly premonition so u never know but there is a small chance it's gonna see a remaster that we can say. Same for I dunno Ryza 3... that one's already going up in Europe probably too few copies compared to the market's request as it was targeted towards people that played the other 2 games who knows... also the fact something is rare in a region does not mean it is rare globally.
ps2 Shibuya Scramble rocks and yes there are people talking about it... look around. the point is VNs are a very niche and separate market I guess.
You're not wrong. No one can predict any of these factors, really.
I made the first of these two videos because I had a busy day and needed a quick idea for a video to film. It ended up being a really popular video for me. So, I decided to do a second one... which did even better.
In a way, these videos are more like parodies about how you can't really predict what will happen.
Also very true. Regional differences are huge. Just look at Haunting Ground
VNs are tricky. They can be wildly popular... or just fade into obscurity.
Rarity is defined only by a number of copies in circulation. As we usually have no info how many the publisher prints, nor we know if they decide to do reprints, it's pure speculation how rare a game will be. Also, the game value is heavily affected by its popularity. It's another unknown. Usually less printed games are not that marketed and hence not that much "popular". So the boost in popularity must come from some external source. RUclipsrs? Collectors? Internet communities? Who knows... For me it means I don't speculate. I just buy a game which seems interesting to me with intention to play it some time later (yes, my backlog is getting huge).
Anyway, here are some of my purchased games which I thought might become rare and as it seems nowadays they are definitely not 🙂
Code Name S.T.E.A.M. (3DS) -- a strategy game by Intelligent Systems published by Nintendo, maybe I though it would be some new Fire Emblem? ;-) Now it costs around $5USD and nobody cares 🙂
Sushi Striker (3DS) -- this was released at the same time on the Switch and 3DS and I thought that nobody would buy the 3DS version, and as 3DS was on decline I thought Nintendo would print a limited number of copies. I think the game now costs no more that $10USD and again - nobody cares 🙂
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (New 3DS) -- I even bought a New 3DS because of that game. It seems like Nintendo produced a gazillion of cartridges with the game, but the last nail in the coffin was the Definitive Edition on the Switch, produced a few years later. Now it cost no more than $40USD and only crazy "New 3DS complete collection" collectors care 😀 Also, I'm quite sure I will never play that game on 3DS.
A few times I paid crazy money for 3DS games on eBay (I am from Europe where 3DS Japanese games were much harder to get) just to learn a few months (or years?) later that reprints were produced and the price went drastically down: Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX, Devil Survivor 2, Stella Glow. I also bought Blue Reflection on PS4 for more than $100USD (when converted from Euros) a few years back. Currently, Videogamesplus from Canada has that game for approx $80 CAD(!) in stock. I think the same goes for many other games (Attack on Titan, some NISA games, some other Gust games, ...).
Thanks for the comment! Yes, rarity and value are independent from each other, but speculating on either one is done the same way, so I chose to use them rather interchangeably in those video (as most people do).
Looks like you got burned a few times yourself! Sadly, it happens to most of us. I almost paid $100 for Blue Reflection myself. But, I decided to skip it because I was getting burned out on jrpgs.
You're not the only one who is getting wrecked by the constant reprints 😅
Please tell me where you found Ranko Tsukigime for only $50 because I've been trying to get it for a while and I can't find it for under $100 anywhere
Your video was posted this year so if it went that much higher the same year I think you got lucky
I actually got it shortly after release 😄
@@RNGGamerYT you mentioned that in the video, but you also said you checked how high the price went up and it was to $50
@AidanDrotzur-uz5sz yeah, it was right after it came out! People were flipping it on ebay, so I went ahead and imported it from the UK
@@RNGGamerYT wow you must've got lucky
Looks like I'll have to pay $100 for it
@AidanDrotzur-uz5sz ouch! It'll probably only go up!
I should have picked up Mister Mosquito PS2 when it was $5, now it’s $70-$100, you play as a mosquito who sucks blood and stalks a Japanese family
That's a game that I've wanted for forever! I'm very familiar with it, but I didn't realize it had gotten THAT expensive! I'll keep my eyes peeled for a copy
@@RNGGamerYT it’s an amazing game, the mosquito is so cute
@charlieb308 I'm excited to look for it me diligently!
Switch ver is worth more
Yeah, the Switch version is usually worth more.
Ya, Suikoden 2 ps1…. Then they went and remade it! 😮😢
Same here, buddy! But in this case, I think it might hold some value because you can carry over your save game from the PS1 to the PS2 for Suikoden 3.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Ps4 might not be as collectible as the switch because the switch offers features that you cant get with a ps4
That's true. The Switch versions of the games often seem to be more collectible even if the performance is worse sometimes.
Nintendo hit gold with portability and being able to play on the tv if anything most people are working an 8-5 job so an handheld makes more sence than a home console and a cartritge is so small that it makes it much easier to carry hundreds of games on the go then carry a ps4 disk or console
I agree with you. It was genius for Nintendo to combine their portable and home console systems together into a flagship console.
@@RNGGamerYT probably saves where more money on electrical bill by playing in handheld
@raider1294 you still have to pay for the electricity to charge the batteries 😅
That ps4 game got a re-print bro it’s not worth anything like $245. It’s worth way below what you paid right now lol
I knew it got a reprint for the standard edition, but according to game eye and price charting, the collector's edition is still way up there.
There’s the same copies on eBay for under half that. That standard is peanuts yea
no you cannot predict rarity. you can get lucky from time to time but you never can really know. far too many variables determine a games rarity and its not just its small print. there has to be a demand for the game and its availability. something you just cannot predict. buy the games you actually want. dont ever buy on so called predictability.
I only ever buy games that I want to play 😁 But I do panic sometimes, and worry that they are going to get expensive later.
My track record with that is pretty good
oh absolutely lol. i go through that as well with many of the switch titles. luckily they happen to be games i like in case they fail to garner a following. @@RNGGamerYT
My two best purchases (in terms of value increase) were: Afrika ps3 for $9 and Godzilla ps4 for $24... I'm a sucker for unique random/quirky titles, so i end up buying games on DEEP sale. I never intend to sell my collection off, its all going to my kids in the future (when they're old enough to appreciate the decades of collecting). What's the biggest increase in value of a single game in your guy's collections?
Those are some great pickups! I had an opportunity to grab them both myself and passed for some stupid reason...
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Are you completely clueless to PC gaming? ALL SONY TITLES ARE ON STEAM!
I'm not clueless at all, I treat the PC like any other console!
