I have the same setup but wondering if the shackle angle could be better for more spring flex. Not sure that a vertical 0 degree shackle angle is a good set up. Have you done anything to correct this?
You wouldn't want shackles on both ends of a spring. There would be nothing to locate the axle front to back as the entire spring/axle could move front to back at that point. Fixed pivot point on one end and shackle on the other. In this case, on the front, shackles are on the front of the springs... on the rear, shackles are on the rear of the springs.
@@NotSoGrandGarage I just watched a super cool video on the leaf springs and shackle system which explained everything from length of shackles and how different angles of the shackle affect the spring action. Except he didn't say how you can change the location of the shackle to get those different angles. I looked under my rig and there's only one connection spot available. But whatever.
@rustybaxter9606 In order to do that, you have to relocate the hangers. Depending on how it's setup, you'd have to cut the stock hangers off the frame and move them but there's a fair bit that goes into that.
With the setup the owner chose, we ended up getting a drop pitman arm from trail gear as well as the bracket for the steering stabilizer. Steering geometry is about as flat as it gets and it handles really well. You'll have to just see where it lands and go from there using the shackles only. You can call Dr. Z or send him an e-mail and he'll point you in the right direction.
How did you go about letting your axle down in order to get the distance needed for the shackles to go on without a fight? I have these same shackles and put the fronts on but working on the rear now and realizing they’re not as easy. Did you undo the front bushings as well?
I'm glad you mentioned those abrasives because they look to have some decent prices. Those shackles look great!
They're solid. I've been really happy with them.
Great job buddy! Amazing attention to detail! Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Appreciate it!
thank you , watching from uganda
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Nope.. thank you for a solid product!

I've not and I don't really think shackle angle is an issue with these. I'd say Dr Z has put a fair bit of thought into their design.
So shackles only go on one end of the springs and not both ends?

@@NotSoGrandGarage too much for me, sounds like a weld job. Thanks
If we lift the shacles do we need to replace with higher shockobservers?
Anything more to add, only bushings and shakles?
Not sure with just shackles. This has lift springs and shackles and required longer shocks.
How do we determine the right shockabsorbers if you lift to about 20cm high
@katabazianthoney4158 I'd look on some of the forums and see if it's even necessary to change them.
Any problems with axle angle or pitman arm

Where did you get the bushings from?
Amazon. Should be links in the video description
hey whats the tire size the car is sitting on right now ? 31 ?
Correct. 31 x 10.50

No but the shocks have to be unhooked. The springs should pivot on the front bolts freely unless the bolts are frozen in the bushings.
@@NotSoGrandGarage ah okay thank you. That should be easy enough.
@@TheCove828 it ain't bad. If it doesn't pivot, might be good to go on and replace the bushings.
@@NotSoGrandGarage I already have all new bushings ready to go so thinking I might just replace them anyway. Thanks for the advice
@@TheCove828 yeah might as well while you're there. Will make it easy going back together.
Are the dr. Z shackles you used 1" or 1.5"
1.5"
