      @@unkn0wni No. We don't. Believe me, there's a REASON we have IQ tests and scales. I've taken 4 in my short lifetime. Do you think that people were given them to me for FUN? I have peaked at 128. And, that was by far, one of the most active and "stimulated" I have ever been mentally. I have written 3 books so far in a language I started learning at 6 by myself. Don't try and pull some smartass BS on me. I am not your audience. Plus...was I responding to you? Use your 10.

      M. West I am not sure if you responded to the correct comment (because its obvious you were contesting to the head comment, there was no other comment, but I felt like answering because I identified what you said as a myth that needed to be corrected). But in any case, you can improve the brain (more neurons, more connections, strengthen connections, etc.) but that doesn’t mean that your using some hidden potential in the brain. It just means that you’re using it better, developing it. Anyways, that thing of the books sounds impressive, which language are you talking about?

    • @unkn0wni
      @unkn0wni 4 года назад

      @Elite Gaming well, I would need to watch the video first. Although i was referring more to the idea of having large portions of the brain completely useless until you “unlock” them, and the idea that the only useful parts of the brain are 5-10%. I think I started seeing that series, but stopped because I found it “unscientific” or “staged” (I had so high standards that I expected a large sample for real experiments, but the camera angles seem too strange to be made by hidden cameras without cameramen and the samples were very small, as to demonstrate the behaviour visually rather than conducting an actual experiment).

    Just watched this movie today and LOVED it! Anyone who is into quantum physics/metaphysical/consciousness/spirituality, will appreciate this movie. The concepts of time travel, consciousness in everything around us, oneness,omnipresence are all very well cinematogarized. In other words, meditation and connecting to the Divine cosmic power IS capable of opening us up to different dimensions and possibilities. Many are able to decode this encrypted message. It doesn't have to be a pill to awaken us to our full potential. We can do it gradually, together as one! Enjoy the movie!! :)

      That annoyed me at first too, but the point was most likely that it allowed her to use parts of her brain located in other dimensions in addition to the 100% we normally use in the three dimensions we usually perceive. It allowed her abilities like to see through objects, back in time, into the future and so on. Everybody knows wearing a ring won't make you invisible, but they are still able to enjoy Lord of the Rings. Lucy comes from Luc Besson's mind, the same guy who created "The Fifth Element". You have to remember that when you watch it. It was quite silly, but it also had a lot of themes that few movies have explored up until now and for that it deserves some praise.

    • @Lolwutdesu9000
      @Lolwutdesu9000 8 лет назад +111

      It's NOT a myth. We always use only a fraction of our entire brain at any one point. The only "myth" currently perpetuated is the possibility of using 100% of our brain.
      Get it right.

      +Redwave trance We are using almost all of our brain if not all at all times. Using losing even a few brain cells could potentially lead to things like retardation and disability. Basically, if we only used 10% of our brains, we would all be in comas right now

Thats why Lucy we like that because each percent of her brain she uses, its used nonstop, giving her unlimited potential as the percentage counts up.

      If we consider as in 'Laws of Universe' that we are all part of God's consciousness, we all are one. If we consider as in Hinduism 'Aham Brahmasmi' which means I am Brahma (God), 'Shivoham' which means I am Shiva (God) and 'Moksha' which means salvation (to break the cycle of births and deaths or reincarnation and become one with God). Buddha attained Salvation and became one with God (Universal Consciousness).
      If we consider all this, this movie seems very logical and apt.

    If you people payed more attention in enjoying the movie rather than CRITICIZING it, you'd realize the beauty in this film. It bet they aren't trying to come directly from scientific facts. This IS science fiction, so its not true. There are many movies and stories that stem off of urban legends, this being one of them. This looks like an incredible movie, try to enjoy it? You AREN'T criticizing in benefit of this movie, you are criticizing it to complain about it. Im willing to bet any amount of money on that fact. Enjoy the movie, because its a good one. Cobalt Geometry Dash no?
      It started pretty good though
      but as the movie went on, it became worse or worse.
      The main character got 100% brain power, cool, but the movie world wasn't based on fiction, but on real life. So why the fuck did she get psychic powers? There wasn't any explanation in the movie at all, you just had to assume that it was possible in the real life
      Then if you look at the matrix, the things what actually happen, ARE explained in it, and even if it wasn't, it was made in a fictional world which made things like that possible, but if you just put something in the real life world like lucy, it's just shit if you do impossible stuff without explaining why
      So, good beginning, awful ending (can't believe that I had to see this movie instead of edge of tomorrow)

      What in the actual heck are you even talking about... "mind capacity" is not even a fucking term. The brain is not something that has a "capacity" it is something that you exercise. The more you use it for certain things the better it gets at it. There is no cup that is getting filled up until it peaks or whatever the heck your made up term suggests. The brain does not have some magical cap that you can use up all its resources like you will get to a point and suddenly not be able to learn anything else. It keeps picking up more and more information the more you use it. You are quoting another variant of the same stupid myth and now all of the people who gave your comment a thumbs up just perpetuated this falsehood.

      She never said that the brain has a capacity, she said "mind capacity" (key word being mind). In the scientific world the brain and the mind are being researched to mean to different things that are interconnected, one of these connections being that brain is the base of ops. for the mind (a more nonphysical concept). Correct, the brain itself doesnt have a capacity in the sense of limits of learning something, but there is a limit to what our minds can accomplish when we are consciously using our brain. We do use 100%/all parts of our brain on a daily basis, but I think she meant that we haven't tapped 100% of the parts of the brain, hence what our minds are capable of. Example, for many people whom are blind, their brains have adapted to the lack of sight by increasing their sense of hearing (so obviously there is something different in the part of the brain that controls their hearing vs our (in)ability to hear what they can). Impretty sure this is an evolutionary adaptation, but who the hell knows EVERYTHING about the brain and mind?

      Chris Archie Wow, I guess you must be using more than 10% of your "mind capacity" if you can read Belkis Alaa's mind and know what she meant when she stated we use 10% of our MIND CAPACITY. You are wrong about mind capacity though. If you google "what is mind capacity", you will then see that it means the actually capacity of our mind. This capacity is an extremely large amount, if not limitless.

      I don't hate it, it just couldn't really keep my attention up. There are some interesting things about it, but I don't really feel any kind of connection to it. That's a problem, because I need to write an analysis about the movie as an assigment. I like doing analysises about things that I care about, that make me feel or think about things, either positive or negative way, but I didn't really felt anything watching this movie. My so called analysis will be so forced...

    Guys lets just make clear that the movie is not saying we don't use 100% of our brain. Everyone knows we do. We use all the parts and at the same time. What it it saying is we don't use it to full capacity. For example I have a cup half full of water, I'm using the cup 100% of the time aslong as that water is in it. But what I don't realise is I could have q whole lot more of water if I just used the full capacity of the glass.

      It's clear not everyone uses 100% of their brain, seeing as the majority of the people on this thread will not be able to understand what you're saying. I agree though.

      I REALLY appreciate this comment. Even all the scientists who have refuted the wording of the urban legend without touching the true implications of it are way off the mark. Of course we use near to 100%, but to waaaaaaaay less than 100% capacity for each part.

    • @scaptal

      It wouldn't make sense to use 100% of your brain all of the time, when you are in great danger you don't think about love, or about how Hungery you are, so we only use the parts we need, so we don't use 100%

    • @bcnihao
      @bcnihao 10 лет назад +1

      Where do you get the idea that we use all parts at the same time? Don't you realize that your assertion is contradicted by fMRI scans?

      Also If we consider as in 'Laws of Universe' that we are all part of God's consciousness, we all are one.
      If we consider all this, this movie ending seems very logical and apt.
