You seems to always be able to explain what I’m feeling in a clear digestible way, and even when we don’t agree I never feel like it’s personal or that you’re just hating, thankful for this channel never stop posting. This movie resonated with me on a deeper level that I couldn’t fully explain but I think you nailed it, I saw myself agreeing and rooting for Denzel’s character because Rome deserves to fall (very timely with current events) but Paul/Lucious (spoilers) winning at the end was a reminder to me that it’s too easy to just burn everything down even when they deserve to fall, it’s harder to try to build something better instead, in a way both of these characters are aspects of my own personality fighting, positivity vs cynical doomer. Think the film reminded me I still have work to do be to be a better person. I was entertained, a really thrilling ride & exciting time at the movies, Paul Mescal was good, Denzel was great & stole every scene he was in oozing charisma & aura, Denzel was Denzel & im glad I got to enjoy his art on the big screen while he’s still alive. Supporting cast was good especially the “Ravi” actor, a shame tho that May Calamawy was cut for dubious reasons. Fluffy story details here & there but if you want to be entertained you will be. I felt I understood the movie for some deeper reasons I cant fully explain yet but I just get it. I too was rooting for Rome to fall(timely), while understanding the want to build something better. For me rn 8/10. Love (Note: I have not seen the original gladiator cause I didn’t want comparisons to ruin the experience so context)
Thanks, I think I'll go see it, was going to wait till it streamed from some friends' review. Video feedback - I'd loose holding the silly mic, you are so expressive, you'd be better served having both hands free, just use a clip on mic, you can still get good audio with today's tools. Minor feedback, just don't like video people who hold those silly mics, it's distracting. Take it or leave it.
I'd like if you uploaded your videos in audio format on podcast platforms so I can listen to it on the go. It can be done easily through Spotify for Podcasters
I have to disagree, sir. It's more of a remake than a sequel, but can't do anything half as good as the first film. Paul Mescal was woefully miscast and his part was severly underwritten.
I disagree. This is a choppy mess. I dont find that anyone here is anything more than passbale. Denzel is disspaointing. No surrpises. I kind of guessed his purpose early on. Mescal is bland. Connie Neilson is just bad. Horrid dialogue. Ridley needs to find a small drama.
I agree with you Coy. I appreciate you talking about the nuances, where alot of people saying its just a reshash. I thought it was incredibly directed. His best since the Martian. Thought last duel was close to great
In Roman times, thumbs-up up meant "kill"... 👎🏻😄 This one is not for me. It annoys me. Too far away from what Rome really was. It really annoys me. But I'm glad you were entertained. 🎉
My left ear loves this video

I’m excited to see it
In time for my birthday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
@@CoyJandreau about to finish the first this week
Isn't it in 2.39:1? AKA not in an IMAX aspect ratio? 🤨

It would never happen. There's way too much money posting on youtube then anywhere else
COY….. get a new mic!!!
Shure SM7B
Honors the first film 😂
People think gladiator 1 or 2 are but they definitely it doesn't stand a chance against Ben Hur
I understand some of these words in this order
@CoyJandreau correction
*1 or 2 are great* 😅

To me, G2 is horrible! And Mr. McCall, this is the first time (ever) you make a mistake by getting involved.

But I'm glad you were entertained. 🎉
Not very subtle there, are you? Lol
I assume you're just saying what the studios wanted because they invited you to the preview
Or I could spend $15 whole American dollars and see it myself
And then say the same things.
