Gladiator gets a sequel in 2024 - twenty four years after it first came out.
Taking place 16 years after the death of Maximus, a mysterious young man returns to Rome, where he must confront corrupt emperors and reclaim his heritage by entering the brutal world of gladiatorial combat.
Directed by Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, The Martian), the main cast of Gladiator II includes Paul Mescal (Aftersun, Normal People, The Lost Daughter) as Lucius Verus, Denzel Washington (Training Day, Malcolm X, Fences) as Macrinus, Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Game of Thrones, Narcos) as General Acacius, Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman, The Devil's Advocate, Brothers) reprising her role as Lucilla, and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, Overlord, Catherine the Great) as Emperor Geta.
