If you cover this again at some point, might want to look deeper into the somewhat recent changes through all divisions of Supercell. (Or just do a coverage of Supercell, I’d argue there’s likely a lot to talk about, and most of the big names in the tuber space are paid well by Supercell sponsorship so it’ll take someone outside the bubble to call out Supercell lol) Boom Beach was suffering from a lowering player count, so instead of introducing features that improved it and would bring people back, they only introduced features that kind of helped, and even then much of it was behind paywalls (originally you could only upgrade 1 building at a time, so it took forever to do upgrades and after a certain point without paying, it was a grind to get resources for a single building upgrade.. and then you had to wait days to try the next, with matchmaking never getting fixed; their solution? Introduce the ability to upgrade two buildings at once!.. except it was locked behind a paywall of around like $5 a month. I don’t even know if that games servers are still running lol. Clash Royale was the next to follow, they’ve made a lot of controversial moves within the last 1-2 years or so: completely changing gameplay mechanics, introducing a monthly pass which although useful removed some nice prior features, introducing super OP “cards” which were hard to get unless you had the monthly pass or bought the cards for $10-$40, making the pass better to boost sales and reduce the backlash… and then make it worse than it originally was while bumping the price from $5 to $7 lmao, I’m pretty sure they also removed some features and put them behind a secondary paywall too. This game is also super notorious for terrible matchmaking and in my experience probably has the most toxic player base of any of their games, which is just an interesting thing to note. HayDay is still doing fairly well, but after a changing of the guard/expansion of the development team they changed the UI look entirely, it doesn’t even look like the same game, it took me months to adapt, they made everything super bright and colorful to appeal to a younger audience I would imagine, but this just made it hard to play because it would hurt your eyes to look at for extended periods or at night. The UI itself was broken for a month or two despite them having a bigger team. They also introduced a pass which was pretty fair and helpful for $5 (shortly bumped to $7) and then later changed it into a mess of 3 separate passes that went from $7 to a total of around $15, with arguably basically the same rewards with some of the rewards being removed or replaced. I used to buy the pass, but only one month of that and I quit, and then they’ve historically had the occasional issue with getting the personal train in the town to work, which would be resolved in a few days; but with that update to the pass they BROKE it. Keep in mind the train is something you can upgrade to get it to refresh faster and hold more passengers. The total amount in resources required to upgrade it to max level (which mine was) I’m pretty sure would cost over $500 when converted from ingots to gems/diamonds to money. (I’m not sure how accurate that is, feel free to fact check me, also I didn’t spend that, I upgraded it long ago the legit way) Basically whenever you would go to use it, it would constantly be down for repairs and unusable without spending gems/diamonds on it, if you contacted support (through a terribly designed report system) you’d eventually get a response that was an automated message apologizing because they were aware of the issue, but even then sometimes they wouldn’t even issue the booster that acted as a temporary fix, out of greed I guess 🤦♂️. The train issue combined with other factors made me quit HayDay for good lol. Clash of Clans is starting to fall into this same trend of greed as the others, although much slower and more controlled, as well as presented in a much more, almost deceptive way. The monthly pass is currently really solid and worth the money, but with the most recent Townhall release where they updated how heroes function, the entire design and the current rate at which their releasing hero equipment has made it impossible to keep up with the leveling, especially if you’re playing entirely F2P. Each time they’ve released new “Epic” hero equipment, not only does it take more rare resources, but it’s locked behind getting credits in an special event, which went from a rare thing reserved for Christmas and their anniversary, has become a monthly event. Oh and of course there’s a $5 pass for each event. And they offer event credits for a steep price in the shop (the best “deal” being 6000 credits for $20, but as far as I can tell based on its buying power, it should be priced more around $10-15, depending on how you factor it, considering there are multiple rewards that can be used for such, thus making it a bit of a rip off to anyone who doesn’t sit down and do the math). I’ve always been one to only spend the $5 on the monthly pass and call it a day, but because I had almost full maxed before the update when it came it out I grinded and spent more than usual on the “deals” but now I can tell it’s fruitless, really only the monthly pass is worth it at least for the most part, I used to have about 4000 gems saved up, but now I’m down to about 1800 which is frustrating to put it one way. I’m worried for the path Supercell is going down, and I don’t want Clash of Clans to be dragged in with it like some of its other games have or are starting to. Regardless, great video! Honestly expected this channel to be bigger based on the quality of the video, but hey, with the right research there’s enough of a player base that watches videos about Supercell and Clash that covering something like this would theoretically give you a big boost! And if you have any questions feel free to ask!
Ever since Trump was elected president, there will be a 50/50 chance that this Chinese gaming company might be banned in the U.S. because of his amendment changes and the fact that he hates stuff made from china😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
this video is a perfect example of "the rich get richer"
you are so underrated. keep it up!
Thanks
