I ordered a key & a fob for my 2017 Toyota Sienna and rented the programming box. I watched this video, then followed the printed instructions that came with the key & fob. I made a minor mistake on the key, but was sucessful on the second try. Took the key to Wal-Mart to be duplicated from the original and now have working spare key & fob. This saved me so much money!!!

After trying to go through Ace Hardware to get a key fob for my Toyota programmed, they could not program it and said I would have to go to the dealer. Before spending hundreds of dollars with the dealer I figured I'd give Tom's a shot. Packaged showed up quickly and after a few tries the fob wouldn't program. I almost quit, but decided to try one more time. I took an extra few seconds and did the steps as shown on the video slowly, and success! Saved me half the money I would have spent at Ace, and hundreds that I would have spent at the dealer. Great product!

I programmed 3 key fobs on a 2014 Sienna with no problems at all. Took literally 30 seconds per fob. Even though Tom looks like he just rolled out of bed, he makes a good product and brings great customer service with it.

The programmer worked perfectly programming a remote and three keys on my 2019 Toyota Sienna LE. The remote was one I had leftover from my old 2009 Sienna LE and was able to re-program it for my 2019. One key was from Tom’s and the other two were from a dealer on Amazon, but all three were original Toyota “H” keys. The instructions were simple and clear, you just have to follow all of the steps. My locksmith was surprised I had already programmed the keys when he cut them LOL. Saved a lot of money using Tom’s nifty little device, my old 2009 cost $180 to program one key and they had trouble doing it. Tom’s was fantastic and worked with no issues. Would definitely use their service again!

The package arrived at 4 pm. yesterday. I opened, read the instructions for familiarization, and went to my 2017 Toyota Sienna, programmed a new key and a new remote following the instructions in less than 20 minutes total. Saved a nice chunk of money. Thanks Tom.

Best method ever. I even bought the keys from amazon, just rent the device from Tom's to program my girl's Toyota 2014 Camry. She bought the car without remote, only one key. So I bought another two keys with remote and programmed them easily with the device.

The programmer and FOBs worked great! Only took a couple of minutes to program each one once I understood the process. Not only did they lock and unlock the doors but they also opened the powered side doors if you hold down the button a few seconds. I was even able to program two older FOBs which I had bought a long time ago and could not get to work so now we have 4 working FOBs for our 2016 Sienna. Thank you!

The instructions were clear. The refund processing was quick as well. All in all a very smooth and customer friendly experience.

I have a 2017 Toyota Rav4 and my kids lost one of the keys. I bought 2 remote keys off of Amazon but could find no way to program them. I tried several locksmiths but the car was too new for their programming software. I then one day stumbled across TomsKeys with a google search. A few emails back and forth with questions about the programmer and I decided it was worth the try. The programmer arrived a few days after I ordered it. As soon as it arrived I opened the package, reviewed the instructions and went out to the car. In less than 10 minutes I had 2 newly programmed keys ready to go. Thanks Tom's Keys!

You made this INCREDIBLY easy and saved us so much money. We bought a Sienna with one working fob and really wanted a second fob that opened the doors as well. My husband initially bought from another website, but we returned it when we found out how much an auto locksmith wanted to charge to program! The fob and programmer was a bargain from Tom’s Key. The whole thing took us five minutes after watching this video. Thank you for saving us time and money!

What a great company!! I used their service to save $150 off what the mechanic was going to charge me, and it took me all of 10 minutes. This is the best option for replacing a lost remote. The dealer wanted $130 for a remote that wasn’t in stock and back ordered for months plus an additional $70 to program it. For the price of programming alone I had a working remote in just a couple of days. Thanks for the excellent service and even better prices Tom. Great experience and highly recommend it.

Used this about a month ago for my 2014 Toyota Sienna LE, worked like a charm! Arrived quickly in a neat little box, had very clear instructions, and it took me grand total of 58 seconds to program my fob. And there is even a prepaid shipping label for you to send it back. Got my deposit refunded in a couple of days. Excellent service and saved me about a hundred bucks. (Plus I was able to tell my wife I programmed her key fob myself and she was really impressed!)

I bought 2 remote keys and a G transponder key for my Toyota Sienna 2013 from Tom's key. I was warned in advance by their team that there's a chance the G transponder key programming would not succeed - and if so returning it would result in full refund.
Following the instructions, the programing of the 2 remote keys was straight forward and had them ready to go in less than 10 mins. Unfortunately, the G transponder key did not program (as was advised). I got the full refund back (including the shipping cost - and I am from Canada/Ont) after sending back the programmer and the G transponder key to Tom's key Co.. The service was great, I would recommend. Thanks Tom's Keys!

I got a used 2015 Tacoma that only had 1 key and 1 key fob. I purchased 2 more of each off amazon and ordered the programmer after the dealership said it was $450 for a key and key fob. It was even $150 if I brought my own key and key fob. I had to erase one of the keys before programming and erased my original FOB, but if you pay attention to the videos, I was able to reprogram all. Now have 3 working sets for around $80. UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW ---- Right after I finished programming my new key fobs (on a Saturday) my son told me he needed the car to head down to the shore. He took the original key and I would have to wait to Monday to cut the new keys. As the new fobs would lock and unlock the doors I assumed I was finished and returned the programmer. On Monday I took the keys to a locksmith and had the new keys cut. Once I went to test the new keys the car would start, run for about 3 seconds and then shut down with a error code displayed on the dash. I contacted Mike from Tom's keys to let him know the programmer did not work for me and (only locked and unlocked doors) and how does his money back guarantee work in this scenario. He asked "did you follow both the Key programming instructions and the fob programming instructions?" I said no because I have all in one key fob combo and he told me I needed to do both. When I told him I already returned the programmer he promised to send it back to me free of charge to finish the programming. Today I finished the programming and all works great. Thanks Mike, great customer service!

Recently used to program 2 remotes, for A 2008 Toy Sienna, I purchased on ebay before I was aware of Tomahawk DYI. I programmed the 2 keys I purchased from Tomahawk DYI. I did have to program one of the remotes twice, but it all worked out great. I was refunded the deposit very quickly. Very pleased.
Funny story. I found a local locksmith to cut my keys. He insisted that they wouldn't work. I tried to tell him I programmed them. He was smugly confident I was wasting my money until he tried it himself. He took the embarrassment well though. LOL

I have a 2018 Toyota Corolla LE with the keyless entry system. The car was purchased as a repossessed vehicle, so it came with one single key, and that key wasn't a remote fob key. The dealer wanted $165 for a single programmed remote key! Fat chance. Even a local locksmith wanted $125 for a single key. I found TomsKey.com, and ordered 2 remote keys, rented the programmer, and the total was $135 (compared to $330 from the Toyota dealer for 2 keys!!!). This is a no-brainer. With his no-risk warranty, I figured I had nothing at all to lose, so I placed the order. It worked flawlessly on my Corolla an I am now a happy camper. He responds very quickly to e-mails, and answers questions thoroughly. Note: For the remote opener keys, you will need to program each key twice: Once to code the key, and once to code the opener fob. It just takes a few minutes (Maybe 10 minutes) and the videos were all I needed to get it right the first time.

Well, my truck was an oddball. Bought FOB on Amazon. It included a search engine for self programming. My truck (2011 Toyota Tundra) required a "professional". So i called and got two prices, both $150.
I kept searching and found this gadget and couldn't wait to try it. Package came quickly (the whole online process was EASY), but my truck would not allow access to the "on board programming". Mike from TOMS e-mailed with me back and forth having me try different things. Nothing worked so he said to return everything for a FULL refund. I did, and was happy to see my refund in a few days.
UPDATE!! I did call in a professional programmer. He hooked his computer to my truck...AND WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCESS THE ON BOARD PROGRAMMING! So, i'm still stuck. Oh, and the professional cost me $25 for him to say, "Sorry, i can't program yours." At least TOMS gave me a FULL refund!
I will use TOMS again, on a different vehicle, if the need arises. Good luck! Oh and any 2011 Tundra folks who found a fix, leave me a comment!

I've seen other videos that don't need a additional ALDL plug in module, just need your key and your remote. Why would Toyota design a car that can't be programmed by owner without having to purchase/rent anything ??

    • @TomahawkDIY

Good question! Starting in about 2010, that'd just what Toyota did! That's what drove me to make this product. Call the dealership and ask how much for a new key/remote. Then compare the cost to this rental. It will save people lots of money in my experience.

@@TomahawkDIY Very interesting, thanks for the heads up. My daughter's 2017 Sienna was stolen and then recovered, and is now sitting in police impound. She does not have a spare key or fob. She is gonna get a key made which is gonna cost $185. Will her car even run without a programmed key fob in her pocket ???? We'll worry about getting new fob's in a few days, if the car will run on just a new key. Thanks for your help on this, I'm old school and all this new crazy shi....., I mean stuff, drives me nuts.

The van will not run with a chip programmed to the car. Once you get one made and it drives, check out TomsKey.com and see if we can save you money to get a spare

I had a great experience: the customer service is fantastic, you can communicate with an actual person, both understanding and competent with the technical matters.
This service is a huge money saver compared to any alternative, and it's totally risk free. Sadly it didn't work for me, sent the programmer back and got a full refund.
I'd invite everyone to give it a shot before going to a locksmith or the car dealer.
