i love how Batman's rebreather thing was actually built into his cowl here as opposed to being a gadget in his belt like it usually is.....they should integrate that feature of his suit into the comics

In fact it'd be more convenient cuz then he wouldnt have to pull it out and he'd also save some belt space
the rebreather plates are built inside his cowl, when they move downto activate the rebreather the cowl has no metal plates in the nose and near mouth area wich is where a punch is more likely to strike , the face part of the cowl would be empty and would just be a mask, leaving batman more vulnerable to face attacks,or im just wrong and you are right and its all comic logic

Which, I don't know how that's possible given all the paperwork one would need to go through and in real life, I think there'd be age restrictions for mental hospitals but it's a Hell of a lot more realistic than just flushing a child down the toilet.
I fucking LOVED this portion of the film. The animation, the mood, the way he just flutters in and out of shadows.. So fucking amazing. It's what I always thought how Batman should be. Almost surreal. Almost like a nightmare
I like the animation, but Croc looks too...inhuman for the Nolanverse. It's just a skin condition...a real one, I believe. It wouldn't shock me if there was. They can play up his durability as they like, but the blazing red eyes and huge teeth aren't needed. If he filed his teeth, they would be fairly small. Fight should have lasted longer too, with Croc hiding in tunnels, crouching down like the animal he thinks he is...Batman trying to determine the location, but his snarls echo in the darkness, making it hard to pin point. The fear toxin in his veins only making it worse...that would have been fantastic.
Bluesit32 That's why this isn't for the Nolanverse, this film has numerous eps where it showcases each animation directors personal POV of what Batman is and how his world functions. Croc has no mental discipline therefore the toxin drove him crazy, making him more reckless. Throughout the series, Batman has fought scarecrow and in instances, he's been able to withstand 4x the normal dosage.
Bluesit32 dude Croc did have a skin condition in the movie, but hints were given here and there that the whole sewer was full of Helucenation gas, so my money goes on the fact that batman saw Croc, but the gas amplified the dreadful appearence
Epidermal hyperkeratosis actually is a real skin condition, but it usually makes a few spots of scaly appearances instead of what Killer Croc. Only in rare cases can it affect most of the body, like one of my english professors in college, who had it almost covering all four of her limbs and her lower neck. It may look stange, but it keep her from sweating, which really comes in handy as she's living in Alabama.
0:51 I like how in this style they make Batman be an abnormal being like going through a hole in a fluid-like way. Even tho we know how he moves round. Getting the perspective from commissioner Gordon can tell us how they view Batman.
It really is so cool I actually think that scene is part of what got me into Batman when I was younger i was more into the marvel universe but Gotham knight made me really like Batman and what’s so cool about him is that he is human but from outsiders he really seems paranormal and surreal , also the Christopher Nolan all black suit makes sense and makes it cool because it be hard to tell what he is in really dark settings , and if you shoot him he keeps moving he really is like a ghost or something, he is Gothams Shadow For Sure .
That's something i love about Batman of all the super heroes out there he is among the few ones that take it to another level. Like he does it professionally, works with the police and everything, he doesn't do it for show, to joke or something Batman's like the military branch of superheroes
The working through pain is the best line. I also just liked the atmosphere and how it seemed to take its time but things got done in just four minutes.

i come back to this clip from time to time cuz of how awesome it is...i really dig the style and tone of this. I love the way Batman and his equipment are depicted as well. Im probably in the minority but I wouldnt mind if they made an animated series in this same style. But id want them to base it moreso off the comics than the Nolanverse like this is. It would be like a modern version of BTAS
Would definitely like to see more stuff like this, but I prefer something based in the Nolanverse. The lack of extreme super-powered opponents gives it a film noir type feel that I really like
FFaruqi1 i feel you, but im personally kinda tired of the whole "grounded" angle or at least the removal of the fantastical elements in superhero stuff. Its a great take and all but it can get kind of annoying, especially when the characters arent as cool as they could be due to "reality". Superpowers and powered beings can be included and still retain that noir feel. I personally think the Arkham games got it right the most out of any Batman adaptation ever. The villains and their powers and the gadgets and stuff were there, and even the other heroes like Supes are explicitly said to exist in that world, but it still kept everything dark and suspenseful. Perfect balance of fantasy and reality imo
Little harsh lol It was really supposed to be an exaggerated art style in this short, even more to the fact that Scarecrow's fear toxin is pumping throughout the sewers which is distorting the images, giving us that perspective too was a brilliant touch I thought.
I like the idea of people like killer croc still exist in the nolan universe but they give it a real life explanation except people with that skin condition wouldn't be as strong as him realistically in most circumstances

is this dc animation or made by the Japanese.?...it more like an anime style..

There's other shorts on the DVD. One involves Batman getting a device that deflects fast moving projectiles (bullets). That one is pure anime in appearance. It is so weird hearing Kevin Conroy's voice come out of a Batman that looks like that
Gordon: Dude, blood's gonna rush to your head.
Batman made Croc a Dragon. (referring to the Bomb he stuck in his mouth)
only Batman: "By the size of these footprints I'd guess it weighs more than three hundred pounds." I"m gonna go find it.
pause at 51 seconds...just....why??
