Everyone forgetting about the time someone said to Batman, "no one made a contingency plan for you" and he responded with "I did, it's called the Justice League"
This is not very convincing when he has ways of defeating all the members of the league, if Batman were to become evil the league would be in great danger as there is someone who knows exactly how to defeat them.
It's not betrayal, it's about preparing for what could possibly happen if superheroes go rogue. I 💯% agree with Batman and his contingency plans. Just think about the Injustice Universe.
In many ways, Bruce was right; they will always have the potential to lose their humanity and become the kind of people they were fighting against. Plus let's not forget humanity's collective xenophobia. More specifically the xenophobia of the US Military.
@@specialk9424 Nevermind. My point is humanity and the government will eventually turn against the JLA, and Batman is having none of it. That's why he has these countermeasures in place.
Also the fact the JL has villains with mind-control abilites who took over the heroes and made them fight each other, like Starro and Eclipso. Plus many adventures where they travel throught the multiverse and faced evil versions of themselves like Crime Syndicate and Justice Lords (who perfectly represent what the JL can become if they turn against humanity)
Something I’ve never seen anyone bring up about this movie is that Batman mentions his plans are in case the League turns evil or gets brainwashed, but most of his plans rely on the members’ morals. Superman trying to talk down a suicidal man, Flash trying to save a kidnapped woman, Green Lantern trying to save all of those people. Those plans wouldn’t work in the scenarios he says they’re for.
An *actual* argument against Bats! Though, at minimum they might aid in a "Well-Intentioned Extremist Mode" situation at very least. And Wonder Woman's would still work at least.
I love that after showing how easy it is to make Wonder Woman see everyone around her as an enemy and put countless civilians and police officers in the hospital, they all don't see the logic to having methods of containing any and all members of the Justice League. Especially given that if it was anyone other than Cyborg who approached Wonder Woman, they'd be down an arm and she'd be dead.
I gotta side with GL, The plans weren't the problem it was just the fact they were stolen. Actually if you think about it one way, Alfred was the one responsible for all this
The League: this is a betrayel of our trust. Batman: okay, then raise your hand if this hasn't happened to you; evil clone, evil doppelganger from another dimension, mind control or brainwashing, possession? The League: .... Batman: I rest my case. Plus, I made a plan for myself, not just you guys!
I wish Lex Luthor was there in this movie teaming up with Batman. His whole villainy on Superman is because he sees him as a threat against the human race too
See, the problem I have is not with Batman having contingency plans for the rest of the justice league. It's that he left them on his computer where any sufficiently motivated villain could hack in. Rule of thumb, if it's written down or on a computer, assume someone can (and will) find it.
And yet, Bruce didn't have any contingency plans for someone sneaking into the Bat Cave. Maybe use pen and paper and hide the plans under your bed. And have a better contingency for yourself that isn't just "Alfred with a shotgun".

One thing that's always cut when I see this video is that green lantern agrees with batman. right after the Fools part he agrees but calls batman dumb for letting the plants be stolen.
in a world where these god-like heroes can sucumb to mindcontrol, brainwash, posession, or in the words of the Joker, ''one bad day'', you can not fault batman to have contingency plans.
Ngl after watching this, I feel like GL was the only one who’s the next smartest person in the room at the moment. He said he didn’t have a problem with the contingency plans, just that Batman didn’t have them secure enough. Which is the problem here, not that Batman had contingencies, he just wasn’t able to prevent this from happening.
Watching Batman for years, I can understand why he did this. (Really love the actors they used for the Justice League, Especially Kevin Conroy as Batman obviously and Bumper Robinson is MY Cyborg. But for Green Lantern, I prefer Josh Keaton.)
As much as I love this story for giving a genuine good reason why Batman is on the same level as the rest of the JL, it is funny how the villains needed his information to come up with diabolical plans as "use a kryptonite bullet on Superman"'
Yeah... 😏 Thinking about the variables, it's funny when considering all the variables in play; It's about getting close enough to use it because he is hypersensitive to even a small sliver of the Kryptonite radiation from a few feet away. And don't forget he's faster than a speeding bullet which would make odds of hitting him from a distance nigh impossible. Plus Kryptonite is not a common resource to be mass produced for ammunition purposes. The Kill Shot needed to be at point blank range before he could react to the threat, that's why Metallo disguised himself as a Jumper to appear unassuming and lure in "Mr. Goody Two shoes" while using his cybernetic arm most likely modified with a lead shielding to hide the gun. Simple, yet complicated and highly effective.. 😅
The Villains went through all the trouble of stealing Batman’s plans. Alerting them, then using them. Yet all of Hero’s were left alone to be cured or saved. Not to mention the villains explaining everything the hero’s needed to hear 😅
As if that wasn't bad enough, don't forget that Flash can simply go back in time and say, "nope, you didn't steal the plans" and then there is no problem. Seriously, the Flash's mere existence in DC is basically like writing a comic where God himself is the hero and we're somehow supposed to feel tension and drama.
The way I see it, there were two huge flaws in the plan: 1) the way Batman was taken out gave him too much of a chance to escape, because this was not one of his own contingency plans, but one Vandal Savage thought of himself. Batman's plans > Savage's plans. 2) Savage didn't account for outside help. Without Cyborg the League would've been screwed even with Batman escaping his shallow grave. Cyborg saved Diana, who in turn saved the Martian Manhunter, who in turn saved Superman, again with Cyborg's help. Also Cyborg was essential to save the day from the solar flare.
But all contingencies Batman was to neutralize not kill. Batman maybe held responsible for creating the plans but for executing it it was savage. But think of batman's plan as alternative or just in case emergency (like in comics the injustice or joker gassed the entire league except Batman) its not the type of villain only its the threat to. If one leaguer succumbs to Darkseid (like supergirl) or starro or Maxwell lord (controlled Wonder woman) how will you add stop them?
Willpower can overcome fear. but in this case, to a superhero the greatest fear is innocents dying because of their mistake. convince them of that, and it's almost impossible not to give in to it.
The ordinary civilians trying to save Jjon from a very clearly chemical based fire is admirable. Almost like thats how normal people would react to seeing a man lit on fire.
I still stand by my opinion that the problem wasn’t Batman having contingency plans as I’ve seen my fair share of Superman mind control segments, but rather the fact he didn’t think to hide them in a more secure place than the bat computer
You have to get the Blue Ray copy of this film. In the extra, Batman explain his plans to stop each member of the JLA including himself. As for the plans you stated they were change by the Legion of Doom to kill the JLA. A bullet for Superman. Bury a live for Batman, ect.
@@maybetoby For example, in Superman’s case he wouldn’t give a lethal wound with Kryptonite and would just use it to subdue and imprison him. He’d probably switch over to red sun radiation once Superman is rendered unconscious or not a threat so he wouldn’t be in constant pain. He’d just exploit their weaknesses to imprison them or render them powerless.
The plans were altered to kill them. Those things were probably not in the original plans. Batman doesn’t even use guns and he wouldn’t actually put Flash and Martian Manhunter in situations that could legitimately kill them.
I agree with Batman and everything, but I do think the league has a right to be pissed at him because they all almost died earlier that night because of Bruce. Yes, originally his plans weren't lethal, but they still almost helped the villains take out the league, and learning that your friend secretly went behind your back and made a super complicated plan to take you down if you ever went bad and studying your weaknesses would violate your trust in him regardless of circumstances, even if he's right or not. I like that Green Lantern and Superman don't really have a problem with the plans, but only that Batman was careless enough to let them get stolen, and Clark even challenges Bruce to see if he made a plan to stop himself to which he did, and it shows that Batman actually does trust the league enough to be able to stop him if he, himself ever went rogue.
"I've carefully studied every Justice Leaguer, past and present"....As much as a planner as Batman is, I'm surprised he hasn't considered FUTURE ones 😁

one thing i love about the scene where the league is all up in arms against batman for having the plans, is that superman mostly sits there quietly. he understands the need for there to be checks against his power and doesnt whine about batman doing it privately.
Rest In Peace, Kevin Conroy. There is plenty of room in heaven for The Batman.
The way the civilians tried to save manhunter is still one of my favorite scenes from any dcamu property. So dope to see the people doing their best to save a hero.

In many ways, Bruce was right; they will always have the potential to lose their humanity and become the kind of people they were fighting against. Plus let's not forget humanity's collective xenophobia. More specifically the xenophobia of the US Military.
And you know this from your extensive time serving in the US military, do you?
@@specialk9424 No, I know this from reading some of the comics.
@@williamcrowe2576 What do comics have to do with the US military? Other than the fact that some of us read them. Or used to.
"Then you're damn fools" - batman
I love that after showing how easy it is to make Wonder Woman see everyone around her as an enemy and put countless civilians and police officers in the hospital, they all don't see the logic to having methods of containing any and all members of the Justice League. Especially given that if it was anyone other than Cyborg who approached Wonder Woman, they'd be down an arm and she'd be dead.
Thats my Batman always a step above everybody.
Yeah and savage was a step above him ... Cyborg was the xfactor that saved everyone
He is just overhyped nothing else
I gotta side with GL, The plans weren't the problem it was just the fact they were stolen. Actually if you think about it one way, Alfred was the one responsible for all this

Batman rolls worst contingency plan ever
Asked to leave the justice league
See, the problem I have is not with Batman having contingency plans for the rest of the justice league.
It's that he left them on his computer where any sufficiently motivated villain could hack in. Rule of thumb, if it's written down or on a computer, assume someone can (and will) find it.
And yet, Bruce didn't have any contingency plans for someone sneaking into the Bat Cave. Maybe use pen and paper and hide the plans under your bed. And have a better contingency for yourself that isn't just "Alfred with a shotgun".
Batman has a point.

in a world where these god-like heroes can sucumb to mindcontrol, brainwash, posession, or in the words of the Joker, ''one bad day'', you can not fault batman to have contingency plans.

This is all from the animated movie "Doom". One of my favs
Superman is faster than a speeding bullet, but he’s caught by surprise by someone pulling a gun and then firing a speeding bullet…
He didnt expect it to be kryptonite bullet
@@mrfahrenheit685 He would still be able to see that it's a glowing, green bullet and react accordingly.
As much as I love this story for giving a genuine good reason why Batman is on the same level as the rest of the JL, it is funny how the villains needed his information to come up with diabolical plans as "use a kryptonite bullet on Superman"'
Yeah... 😏
Thinking about the variables, it's funny when considering all the variables in play;
It's about getting close enough to use it because he is hypersensitive to even a small sliver of the Kryptonite radiation from a few feet away.
The way I see it, there were two huge flaws in the plan:
1) the way Batman was taken out gave him too much of a chance to escape, because this was not one of his own contingency plans, but one Vandal Savage thought of himself.
DOOM is a fantastic film. My 8 yr old daughter asks for it frequently. It's up there with Flashpoint, War, and my favorite -- Under The Red Hood.

Dc needs to make movies like this again
FACTS I hate the new animation. It's terrible. We need this animated AND STORY BACK 😭😭😭😭😭
Superman doesn't actually win for the Justice League all the time. It all depends on the type of villain they are facing.
@@angeloaguila8792 Maxwell Lord controlled Superman, not Wonder Woman.

The most Batman moment ever shown on screen! Long live the BAT!🦇
Willpower can overcome fear. but in this case, to a superhero the greatest fear is innocents dying because of their mistake. convince them of that, and it's almost impossible not to give in to it.
Hal gave in and became a Yellow and Red Lantern on different occasions.
I dunno how a Kryptonite bullet, a bomb bolted to Flash's wrist, or setting J'onn on fire would only "neutralize" and not kill them lol
You have to get the Blue Ray copy of this film. In the extra, Batman explain his plans to stop each member of the JLA including himself. As for the plans you stated they were change by the Legion of Doom to kill the JLA. A bullet for Superman. Bury a live for Batman, ect.
He said they were altered when the JL were discussing in the watch tower
@@paytoncommack5209 ok but altered from what? Explain the nonlethal plans.
I keep thinking of a spoof of this where Robin asks him, what's your contingency plan for me? Batman looks with a long stare and slaps him. Lmao 🤣
Every contingency plan assumes that the character is still good lmao
