- All cars that you can either buy or win in the simulation mode of Gran Turismo 2, with the addition of the two hidden unique cars (Volkswagen Polo 1.4 16V and Mercedes-Benz CLK Race Car). The rally cars from the arcade mode and other hidden versions of normal cars aren't included. It took me ages to collect all of these cars, but it was worth it. This is why people like the Gran Turismo franchise. You can race a variety of station wagons, sedans, basically something different from what you typically get in other racing games.
I also miss Racing Modded cars again from GT2. From GT3, 4, 6, Sport and 7, they permanently removed racing modification capability.
I'm grinding on gt6 so much my steering wheel colomn is starting to wear down😅
I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed the effort that went into the fonts for each make/model. I think it was a crucial detail for the game as it expressed each car’s uniqueness. Unfortunately this hasn’t been seen ever since :(

Almost all racing games suffer from this problem. I clearly remember older NFS games used to display the car's name and brand logo in the exact same style as they were on the back of the real life version.
It's been more than 20 years and it's still one of the games with most cars currently
More than fh5, earlier stages of fh4, gran turismo 7, need for speed (and all its 5 variations in one car on the form of bodykits)
Did you forget about Gran Turismo 6's 1200 cars?
@@ama4n15i never forget that one. It had 1279 cars although 93 percent of those cars are only a carry over from GT1 from 1998 all the way to GT5 in 2010.

Yep. But after GT2 PROJECT A SPEC MOD was released, Escudo has several new challengers. Cultus PPV, Tacoma PPV, Sintura S99 LMGT1, and Mazda 767B from Shioriko Mifune (Ayumu Uehara's closest friend).

well I agree, this would be an almost perfect game with modern graphics as it already succeeds at pretty much everything else

@@Kev27RS you'd also have to count that GT2 isn't a perfect game by any mean. the 50% garage glitch is an extremely HUGE oversight, the game wasn't polished at all in many aspects. Still, it's a very fun game. But rather than having "a remaster" of this game I'd rather see these cars in newer games such as Forza or GT Sport.

The sheer amount of JDM cars in this is insane, it's sad that modern racing games don't include even half of these. It's not all about the Supra and the GT-R, sometimes I just wanna drive a Mark II or a Legnum dammit

it's 622 cars actualy in american release counting rally cars in Arcade which are 15..... 622 total for US, and 618 total for PAL (603 in sim mode including CLK Race and Polo, and other 15 rally cars in arcade mode total 618 (603+15=618) but counting even the hidden cars in the disc which aren't normaly accessible we can get other 10 additional cars so the PAL total number in the disc (not all accessible) would be 628 and in US version 632 :) But without counting inacessible hidden unused vehicles the numbers are 618 and 622
Can't forget driving Acura NSX through that map with the trees on both sides forgot the name, while listening to "super bon bon" song!

Funny bit is these are now old enough to run on any android phone in current existence with proper software so they beat not only console and pc games but absolutely destroy everything google play has to offer as well thanks to ePSXe and such
Only car missing from my memory bank is the green Mitsubishi FTO LM race car with gold trim (wheels).. other than that awesome video!!! Very very awesome nostalgic video.

I really like how instead of overrated ferraris and lambos, this has more baseline and realistic cars, ill always love this game for that alone

2023 here approaching 2024, almost 2 years after Nijigasaki Season 2 Anime and still, GRAN TURISMO 2 has one of the most cars in the entire series. After Project A Spec Mod, it now has 768 cars including 767B, Sintura S99 LMGT1 from Total Immersion Racing, and Nissan R391 from TEST DRIVE LE MANS!

i don't know if anybody has noticed this but the cuda is actually a 72 because in 72 the cuda had round taillights and the dodge challenger is actually a 70 challenger like the one Barry Newman drove in the cult classic vanishing point

If you buy all cars in 6 memory card as you said at the beginning of the video, it's like you're playing Gran Turismo 4 already but in separate memory cards since Gran Turismo 4 has 722 cars. You're like playing Gran Turismo 4 when you're playing Gran Turismo 2.
Idk why Sony removed that on gt3 I play these games i felt like gt3 was gt2 but better grafics and nice less cars I play gt2 it was a bit harder then gt3 it sucks that they removed the prelude I'm glad they keep on having the 240sx in every singe racing game

Garage limitation of 100 cars. You just can't own all 622 cars. But in GT4 you can own them all. And I bet it's the same in GT5, GT6, and GT7.

the Primeras in the NTSC version are called Infiniti G20 and they are in the video at 16:00 / 16:42 / 16:55
@@cheesyeurotrance95 hah my bad, must've forgotten about it. All the differences in NTSC and PAL versions are still confusing (especially when you try to compare cars like 240SX or Civics and stuff)

Can i ask how you have 10 memory cards? Im using EPSXE to play and only have 2 and i don't have most cars
um, you can copy paste a blank memory card and name it differently

What about GT1 and GT3? I know that in 4 you can get all of them since your garage's limit is way higher than needed but what about the first game and 3?
GT1 has a 100 car garage limit, GT3 has 200.
@@cheesyeurotrance95 So i'll be fine with one save on GT3 right? GT1 and 2 i'll have to hold out on multiple memory cards in order to collect all cars it seems. Is there a random order for the used cars in GT1 too like in GT2 or there all available to buy right away from the brand line ups? I'm guessing there's a progression system that you slowly have to build up of course but hopefully there are no rare cars for which you'll have to check the used store every time in order to grab em before they disappear like you're doing in GT2.
you'll be fine with 1 save for GT3, as for GT1 you'll need 2 memcards. The used cars change after 10 in-game days in GT1 and GT2.
