    man this guy is such a genius and his voice is so familiar to me. wrestling was a huge part of my childhood and alot of it was good ol JR explaining to me what was happening in the ring. and it is awesome that he is a true mma fan with actual knowledge of the sport. a great mind in pro wrestling and a very smart man. we love u JR. thanks for the memories

    "I know that I'm never gonna be the best at broadcasting at anything."
    That's fucking humble modesty right there, that is class. J.R You are the best Pro Wrestling announcer of all time.

    16:00 is my favorite part, where JR talks about knowing your favorite picks or fighters. That is soooo important, and I noticed that with WWE in these past few years. They have new guys each 6 months, and not many people had an 'emotional investment' in these combatants.

    I can listen to Ross all day long, with his knowledge of the business. Since he's not involved with WWE broadcasting, how about getting involved with TNA? Running TNA is something that would be very interesting to see what he does, or at the very least, broadcasting TNA.

    I think JR brings a really good point thats where WWE is suffering right now there don't have the talent they need when all the old guys leaving or retiring such as Edge, Shawn micheals and others. Also I'm sure people like Undertaker and Triple H, Big Show, and maybe Ray Mysterio won't be around for much longer, maybe. They only Big guys they really have is Cena, Orton, and a handful of others. Its harder to find talent now with less competition.

    Ross encapsulated why someone like Tenay is so ineffective as a broadcaster even though he is obviously an enthusiastic fan and knowledgeable. Tenay talks down to the fans while Ross talks with the fans, like a buddy on a barstool telling a story.

    Diamond Dallas Page didn't start learning to wrestle until he was in his mid 30's, and he's had multiple championships. So no, 24 is not too old in my opinion.

  • @OfficialSOPA
    @OfficialSOPA 12 лет назад

    There is nothing wrong with periodically bringing in older talent for a storyline, for example I think when the NWO came to the WWF prior to Wrestlemania 18 it was pulled off well and Hogan and the Rock tore the house down. That being said TNA has completely overloaded their roster with washed up names and failed to really cultivate new talent. The WWF/E has in my opinion always been pretty good at creating new starts and mixing in middle aged and older wrestlers.

  • @weezel365

    2:30 -- I've been saying this for years! I even made a frigging map! WWE needs to make it's own territory network! I mean, they already have a monopoly on the wrestling world already, why not?

    @reavessname I tell people this all the time, WWE had a real downpoint in the early and mid 90's where the only big stars on the roster were like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, WWE has to blame themselves for this new downpoint also. The tag team division is what stars have been formed from. Batista, Orton and Cena all were WWE tag teamers back in the early 2000's and formed into great superstars. Now WWE just puts guys out for the wolves and expects them to be great and it just fails.

    You may be wrong on heyman. Heyman will go wherever the money is best. If TNA made him abetter deal - heyman would walk to Orlando to sign the contracts. IMO If he such a stand up guy - Why hasn't he paid off the talent he had at ECW and kept given them kited cheques?

  • @ByrneMJames
    @ByrneMJames 12 лет назад

    Maybe Im wrong but I think they should have a proper person who has earned respect in his field as men like JR have in theirs.You wouldnt see a football star whos been in the business for 30 years whos shaped and innovated his business being interviewed by a nobody who addresses them as if he was their equal. Its just a lack of respect for what theyve achieved

  • @goth1agw1omw
    @goth1agw1omw 14 лет назад

    @thetakeris4ever He hates wearing that stetson hat. It was Vince Mcmahon's idea because he found it funny that he shared his name with JR Ewing. Jim Ross has never liked it and doesn't wear it when he is off camera.

  • @viqneuman.5111
    @viqneuman.5111 11 лет назад

    Yeah i think they are trying to do that with their gut check segment. I don't want to brush every 40 year old with the same brush. I think Bully Ray has really come into his own in the last year or so. And now that he has Married into the Family. He's TNA's HHH. LOL

  • @calamaty
    @calamaty 12 лет назад

    they'd probably go with some Man on Man Action or MMA.

  • @Ahmed1
    @Ahmed1 14 лет назад

    @madmaxOH TNA's unsalvageable, unless they actually bought it and fully owned it. If that happened and we saw Paul Heyman controlling the booking, JR running talent relations & Jim Cornette doing the development territory, I think WWE would be in for a battle. But if people like Dixe Carter, Vince Russo, Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff have any control over the product, then there's no saving it.

    He definitely has great matches, but at his age, if that's all he's got and it's only brought him this far, then what does that say at the end of the day? He does have good matches, even now, but does that really equate to greatness in the way Stone Cold or Shawn Michaels are great? If he had accomplished more, then he'd be a great hand because he knows how to get young guys over the RIGHT way, but a win over him doesn't mean as much as it should. I'm a fan, but I think his time is running out.
