- Patron Warrior - or Combo Warrior - is regarded as one of the strongest decks but also as one of the most difficult ones to play. It survives the early game with cheap minions and Fiery Win Axes while drawing lots of cards to get its combo pieces.
Usually at turn 8 it has devastating combos at its disposable with charging high damage Frothing Berserkers or infinitely spawning Grim Patrons.

MoDRun (Faceless/Sneeds/Sylvanas/MCT/etc) into Malganas + Master of Disguise. Yet all is but a dream.
Amaz did it to a druid. Search "Amaz once in a life time"
MoDRun It's not super hard to pull it off, all you need it zoolock opponent (there are plenty out there) and force him to play Mal'Ganis while you have Faceless Manipulator and Master of Disguise in hand, and since they usually run no board clears it's game over for them.

Using combo pieces recklessly can possibly lose you the game as a Patron Warrior. But is there a such thing as being too "frugal" with them?

sure there is... it depends on the matchup and and your win condition in this matchup... if you are up against a druid dont hesitate to play turn 3 frothing! i would prefer drawing a turn 4 swipe or wrath+ hp anytime over a shreder or even turn 4 shade. you just give them something to do till you draw your "everyone-combo" (which doesnt have to have charge)
on the other hand if you are up against a handlock you use your patrons rather lightly, cause you will most likely (and this rather rarely) win with a frothing combo.
or if you play against a priest you can use 1 (!) patron combo to clear the board. it will (most likely) not stick against a priest. so you have to not let the game out of control till you otk them (from 30).

akhs denlew it's most likely going to fall out of favor because of all the new decks being played.
But just because it's fallen out of favor doesn't mean it's still good.

The biggest problem is that the animations take way too long. Even if you do the math in advance, you can run out of time before finishing the turn. Or the opponents concedes after the sixth "Everyone, get in here!". :D

It was a strong deck but it was skilled based. Intsead these days we have 4 mana 7/7's for noobs to climb up to legend.

Before Grim Patron came out, my main Deck was an aggressive Deck making use of Cruel Taskmaster, Frothing, Raging Worgens, Commanding Shouts, and Weapons, and it did fairly well with early Frothing value and such, but I felt the Deck needed Brawl because sometimes it was hard to deal with the board.
My question is this, is it possible to have an Aggro Patron type Deck that doesn't necessarily focus on controlling/stalling until the "Combo Finish" and instead rather just try to gain value from all its Cards?

It is one of the worst cards in everything but this deck, if war song commander did not exist, this concept would never had existed, but this deck style was already known of, just only with frothing berserker, So if anything, warsong commander is the OP card

zeta280 pretty sure he never said that. he said it will probably not see much play, but people will definitely find a way to put it into a deck which might be good.

i still dont get when to use frothing berserker and when i should use patron..
i thought the patron is the card, where the whole deck is building around, so how should be the berserker more useful, if the patron is an one-draw-high-dmg-combo, which is builded up thorugh early and midgame :/ ???

In the Warrior vs Warrior game on the turn before the end you floated 2 mana instead of playing Armorsmith which would've been another minion for Frothing to build off of even when attacked by the gnomish inventor. Was this in case he got his patron combo off on the turn inbetween? Because you wanted more board space for patrons? Or was it a misplay. I'm just curious if these are things I need to take into account.
I have played patron for some time (aprox 40 matches with 55% win rate) and I always value the card draw as one of the most important things of the decks, I would've kept the gnomish inventor in the second game for example. Is that bad?
Adriano Luiz Oliveira I agree. Card draw is vital. Two great ways to beat Patron Warrior is to silence/destroy Acolytes so they don't get card draw, and to destroy their Death's Bite so they can't trigger it manually as part of a combo. And, of course, you need to never over-extend on board.
Why are there no Cruel Taskmasters?
Charlie McGuire Because Taskmaster fullfills two functions:
1. Activator for the Patrons (in some cases for other cards like Aco of Pain too)
2. It's an counter for enemy minions with one health (like Clockwork Gnome or to finish minions which have only one health left)
When you think your deck have enough other cards to fullfill these functions (like for example Unstable Ghoul) you can cut one or even two Taskmasters.
(At the moment I play only one Taskmaster in my Patron deck after adding a second Ghoul.)
-1 hellscream, -1 pirate and add 2 taskmaster
Trumps deck is a bit outdated
Charlie McGuire normally he only runs one gnomish so his normal one has 2 pirates and no hellscream and 2 task. he used to run grommash but swapped it.
Radioactived Weeab pretty sure playing 2 taskmaster is actually outdated. At first it seems like an auto include but in reality it's very inefficient and situational. Not bad, but not great.
Morgan Murphy 1task 1ghoul then. at least those two cards need to be changed.
Is trump gonna do lesser played decks like control shaman? I main control shaman and i would love to hear input about it from a pro like trump!

Anime Oz Except that player probably has the same Elo as trump, and there have been plenty of professional Magic and yu gi oh matches that were won teh same way. Luck of the draw is an aspect of all CCG's.
Taigher Oni heck, fuck handlocks too. Yes it requires somewhat strategy to use but wasting 20 minutes just to pull out 2 giants and a defender of argus is just -_-

How do you find out if you're playing against aggro? Well if his id is 'zergling rush' that's a pretty good indication...

wait in the last match, if the enemy had not surrendered, would trump have had time to attack with his beserker, or did he rope and could not do the animation?
Jai Jhurry He started to move to attack with his minions after the rope was halfway through, but the opponent had already hit concede and he could no longer select them. He definitely waited too long, though, and if you've watched him in tournaments, you've probably seen him miss damage due to roping at least a few times.

has anyone else done patron - bouncing blade? I've done this combo 3 times out of like the 5 games I've run the deck, and it fills the board each time. However I have not had enough experience running this combo to see if it is actually viable. Say you play death's bite turn 4. You attack with it to set up your deathrattle. then turn 5 you coin into thaurissan. The discount makes it possible, even if your thaurissan is killed the first turn it is present, to play patron, swing your death's bite (doubling your patrons), and play bouncing blade which basically fills your board from two patrons.
Drink every time a patron gets in here.
How's you get 2 Death's Bite? I searched to create them but didn't find them, are they exclusive from packs? Great job with this video!

I've faced a number of patron decks in queue. I would play it but I feel that patron can easily be wrecked by most AOE especially if Patron fills the board

The deck is really about stalling until You can win in a single turn. Thalnos + Revenge is super underestimated.

+Italianslugger This video is outdated, Warsong has been nerfed and therefore this deck no longer exists. Patron Warrior still exists but it has a lot more different cards. I'd search for a more updated version.
search for it on tempostorm. should be somewhere in tier 2, so it is still pretty viable but the deck changed a little.

I find Grommash to be redundant in this deck since you have 2 frothing berserkers. The finishing potential it's already filled.

DeadKavaiol sludge belcher, second Dread Corsair, Cruel Taskmaster, Commanding Shout, second Ghoul, any of these work.

omfg this deck is just too OP ... i had a 50% winrate in rank 1 with every other deck... but with this deck i got instantly legend with just 2 losses

My thoughts on Grim Patron warrior haven't changed a bit since I first saw it. Gimmick deck. And after weeks of beating it fairly consistently, I also discovered: Over-hyped.
Why not just play an Inner Fire priest? You know, for the Gimmick.
Fred Fox People like Grim Patron because it's challenging and requires a lot of concentration and strategy to pull off the combos and math out the necessary damage for lethal. It's a high skill deck, which can feel more rewarding to play.
