- In this video I made my Sideshow Collectables The Child, posable using an octopus tripod. The arms and neck are posable with snap on ball and socket joints. Still nice and ridged and very posable.
Best one yet . Its not wired on and you can replace the parts over time dude great job 👏 👍. You got my sub for your creativeness.
This is the best and cleanest mod I have seen yet!!! Nice job.
Omg, you actually did it the way I was considering with the trypods. Only I was thinking somehow using each leg for all four limbs or something. Its just great seing you moders adjusting this guy in different ways.
You could easily do the legs the same way. There is a good support structure inside. I may do that one day.
What brand of camera stand was used?
@@lukydbgm i dont know. It was brandless. However the advertised size was Medium, the length of the legs were 250mm the outer diameter of the socket joints are 22mm.
Thank you!
Brutal. Vaya curro y el resultado final es impresionante. Un 10
If I were to buy and mod this little guy, this would be the way. Well done 🍻
Just used this technique on mine, thank you so much for posting this. This mod works great!!
To me the one from said show is the perfect one to get what is just that head is looking up but it takes individuals like you to do something right to that a company that's been around for so long could it do great job
That is uber super clever! Dude you have great skill to make Grogu posable! 😎
At 1st I was horrified. But you know what THIS IS THE WAY. yup this is the way it should have been made to begin with awesome job
This is the way
Thank you so much for this! Just completed mine.
Just ordered mine yesterday, probably will do the same mod!
Ok....Wayne. ....I just noticed your comment in section below.....Medium....thanks! 👍😆
Good luck.
Thank you Sir!....and bless! 😆😆😆😆
This is the way
Reviewed your video again!!!...AWESOME! SLICK!!!!....REAL SLICK how you achieved this mod! LOLOLOLLL.....I'm LIKING this channel!...You got me to "SUBCRIBE!"....LOL! Peace Bro and stay safe out there! 👍👍👍👍👍😆😆😆😆😆
Sadnesses of the Side Show brand 😂😂
Hey, this looks really good.
Is it possible, you can do it with my Grogu?
Greetings Luka
That is genius. Now I only have the Mattel version (I want to see how far I can take him with an airbrush and hairfluff). I have a reborn body for Grogu on its way (will tint it light green), and intend to 3D-print the missing feet. Now I wonder if it was possible to use 2 of these gorilla tripods and use them to make him fully posable...can you vary the length of the arms by taking off and putting on individual of the ball-joint elements?
Sound like a fun project. Yes these sections just pop on an off, however if you need to make each limb fully posable you can get armatures for teddy bears that use similar joints, and they also have various junctions too.
That was awesome!!! I cannot help but wonder why the company never made the figure with moveable head and arms and maybe legs as well. I would have spent the money!
Because it's a statue....
@@chocotastic1 most of their products are poseable
@@Firegirl483 most of their products are statues
@@ollyhills still poseable
Seeing this Sideshow version of The Child without the robe on made me think the body was backwards. There really is no reason for Grogu to have a big belly....Yoda doesn't have one. Instead, since you're going to cut the legs and arms off anyway, why not turn the body around so the "belly" becomes a sort of "butt" for the lil guy. Since the arms are always forward, it would help with the center of gravity, and make it easier to keep him in a sitting position.
Do you do comissions lolol
I have so many questions, wishing this wasn't time lapsed (I understand why you would though). Main question, did you put the glue around the ball joints as well (where you re-connected)?
Sorry! It was easier to just time lapse. I only glued and fixed the joints that were within the body frame so that shoulder sockets would line up to the center of the opening. Otherwise the shoulders might droop, and its one less thing to keep correcting when posing etc.
They should make one that where u make it walk but it talk by its self
This is awesome work. Very impressive. My lady wanted the Sideshow Grogu doll so I bought it for her. Now she wants it posable. Lol
Is there any way we can talk business? Let me know.
Question.....What size "Octopus Tripod" did you use for this mod???? "Large....Medium, or Mini size?" YOUR VIDEO IS AWESOME!!!!! The Hot Toys is awesome figure, but the "splitting under chin deal" was a BIG DOWNER for me!!!!! Now that we have a way to make the "SideShow" version of the "Child" posable....I'm thinking of going this rout!
Totally worth it. And the big hands on the HT one bothers me too.
I did the same mod with the same tripod. A thing to consider is the movment of the arms inward, towards its belly, is a bit limited. It's not a huge issue, but I wanted to make it hold a small christmas gift for a picture and couldn't get it to reach enough inwards.
Are you having the same limited movement on yours?
What I like though is how easy it's to adjust things afterwards. A damaged aluminium arm would need a full replacement, but with this mod you just swap one of the plastic bits with no extra work :D
Yeah, I think if the wrists were also articulated and if the chest was flatter you could almost get any arm pose you like. but Im happy with it as is, on screen Grogu also seems to have his limits, so Im ok with it. even the slightest pose-ability really brings this little guy to life.
Considering doing this mod in the late. I knew that would a thing getting the arms inward, a theory I have maybe of doing is cutting a wedge gap inward to chest from the shoulder and neck to allow joint s to push inward forward more.
Anybody in UK who has the tools and skill to do this??? Need my SS modifying, this is the best one I've seen!!!
He’s pointing at Martha Barbra 😂
Haha, i had to google that.
You could probably 3d print the body to have the ability to return it back to it's unmodified version.
Really enjoyed watching this 👍 How has this mod held up since you've done it? Any issues? I'd like to do the same to mine.
Thanks. The mods have held up well. He gets a new pose almost every day.
@@wayneartist That's good to hear! Thank you for getting back to me
My life sized figure just got here today, and I have one of these tripods just laying around... so tempting but I’m afraid I’ll fuck it up!
Do it!!!
Damn! Looks so good.
How long is the tripod?
The eBay item was called an octopus tripod, i got the medium size which was 25cm tall and the leg diameter was 2.2cm
Uau 🥰😍😍😍
Do you take commissions?
Uau
0:05 que curseado se ve eso jajaja 😂
5:20 cyborg grogu I wonder if he loses his arms in a duel like a anakin did
Great! I wish they would sell him like that.. How is the Hot Toys one?
Scary looking
I would like it if you could make a Pattern of a Jedi robes for my two Grogus Thank you Very much😅😅😅😅😅😅 I hope you can helP me😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Gah it pains me doing it cause i saved a while knowing this might happen one day and it did lol. (Disabled and only get ssi) but seeing this one....you do commissions? haha Have a fb or insta?
Im on Instagram as Wayne.bryant.artist
Kinda stupid how everyone has to mod their Grogu because Sideshow cant get their shit together.
Yea, but still. Moding on your own will still be better than an articulated version from company. The articulation on hot toys version isn't even that great. A good articulated figure or doll is from trick or treat studios good guy, has similar joint based movements to this mod.
I would pay you to do that to mine.
too fast, there are parts that I don't see what you do or how you do it...

@@wayneartist Thanks! Wait, it comes in three sizes haha I'm guessing the large?
@@AINEET no. Medium is what I used
And now your limited edition collectable is worthless, smh...
yet totally worth it
Smh at your comment. I'd pay much more for a poseable collectible. I just don't unterstand why SS decides go to for a fixed pose. Makes no sense.
@@santaria19 i suspect its a licensing limitation.
@@santaria19 because they planned on coming out with a poseable figure, which they did.
Just because it’s limited doesn’t mean there’s not a lot out there. This isn’t an investment piece.
