I own one of these and full time in it. We make great use of the double refrigerators. We tow with a 3/4 ton Ram when we move. Very functional and roomy.

I have the 2021 version of the 328RL. It is basically the same with different interior color scheme. I love it but it is really heavy! Tongue weight with the camper fully loaded for a trip (with empty tanks) is 1,546lbs which is definitely heavy duty truck range.
I have towed this trailer about 10k miles now (mostly short trips around central TX but some longer out of state trips too) with a 2021 Ram 3500 SRW that has about 3,500lbs payload and 24,000lbs tow rating. Even though my truck can technically tow the camper as-is, I still use a weigh-safe weight distribution hitch (2.5" shank) mainly for the sway control.
There is a huge difference with vs. without the weight distribution (I've done a couple of trips both with and without using the weight distribution). Without the sway control even a light breeze is noticeable but with the sway control I've driven through absolutely terrible weather with no concerns. On normal weather days the trailer is barely noticeable behind the 1ton.
The dual DC fridge setup is nice when boondocking. Can keep one off which reduces the electricity draw but when on full hookups can fire them both up and have one for food and one for drinks so the food fridge doesn't constantly get opened and closed all day.
The auto-level is great. Pulling in when caravaning with other travel trailer friends is fun, I'm typically all setup and sitting in my camp chair watching them still trying to get their trailers leveled out using blocks and the levelmate pro.
One weird thing is that the "vent" hood above the stove doesn't actually vent outside... There is a window behind the vent hood and it just blows onto that window / circulates inside the camper. I use the ceiling vent right above the stove as my cooking vent (installed a maxx fan with the remote).
The dog crate under the bed is wonderful if you have pets. I have two dogs and instead of setting up a crate that eats up floor space, I have the space under the bed which is totally out of the way.

Just the biggest fridge you can have in a R/V is just enough. Disappointment not enough counter space is a draw back in the kitchen. But the color tone of the kitchen is amazing. Booths for the table is nice. Nice to see a lots of storage for the bathroom.

Thanks, J.D. your videos. I agree about the ouble fridges, I'd rather have a 12 volt Residencial fridge and a small pantry. I don't need the counter space as much, I'm handicap and have learned to prep and cook in a small economic space. I'm not a fan of black cabinets in the kitchen, but that's just me. There is so much light and windows, so the black does look good. I also need a bigger shower. I can fit a seat of some kind in, so no second door is needed, I want a much bigger shower instead.

Would've love the double refrigerator in a large 5th wheel. This way you can still have the counter top space. In this case, 1 refrigerator would've been good. Overall, nice RV!

You apparently are an RV park type of owner where the park's supermarket has a bountiful supply of food at a 2 minute drive of your golf cart. Extra refrigeration is essential when you dry camp/ boondock in a BLM dispersed camping or state park out west. The 400 watt solar you mentioned up front told me this was a boondocking model.

I guess if you don’t want to go shopping but every couple weeks or during the month, or you have a large family or cook for a group of people all the time, I don’t see a need for two refrigerators. Like you said, you can always toss one of those electric fridge/freezer chests in a storage bin or your truck. I’d rather have have the counter and storage space for drawers or cupboards. I’m sure there’s a few folks that would like two fridges, but I wouldn’t think there were enough people to even make it an option, but they did it, so what do I know?

Very similar to our RV. We have a 2020 Heartland Mallard M335. Its 9900 lbs. My question is. I would need a 2500 or F250 to tow is correct. It is 40ft long exact. We had it delivered because we didn't have a truck and are fulltime RVers. Was cearious, but not sure.

Along the lines of other comments, if you love to cook, having that much refrigerator/freezer space would be amazing, but the sacrifice of counter space isn't great. As someone else said, in a fifth wheel it could be perfect

  • @dtom420

How much does the value of trailer depreciate (% wise) when you drive it off the lot? Does it lose the most on drive-off and, after that, lose a more reasonable amount each subsequent year?
Trying to decide whether to buy a new trailer (maybe a Roam) or whether I should wait and look for a 1-2 year old unit?

I like this but don't need the two fridges. One is enough for me. I'd rather have a small one outside somewhere for drinks and then more counter space. I also prefer a smaller bed with more of a night stand. But the color scheme is a nice change from other options out there.

Not a lot of sizzle to this one. I'd agree for more space by the stove for just a single good size reefer. I'm not a fan of those corner showers and for a 40 footer I wold have liked to see a larger spot to water down. Not a bad rig..just ho-hum

I have a 2022 Outback 328RL that I bought last year as a new left over. I would like to take this trailer and shove it up Keystones you know what. This has been back to the dealer at least 4 times and I have a list of over 40 problems I have had with it SO FAR. Some were minor cosmetic and poor craftsmanship while building it and many other were major problems. Every time I used it last season it was, Well, what's going to go wrong with it this time. I even told a corporate rep to stop letting 8 year old kids build their campers, because they don't know what they are doing. I just got the camper back from another round of repairs before the 1 year warranty expired. I'm going out for the first trip next weekend. Wish me luck.
P.S. I will NEVER buy another Keystone camper after this POS.

  • @FoDaddy
    @FoDaddy Год назад

Yeah, this one is not half-ton towable in my book, Towing weight would be around 9500 pounds, and you're going to be putting north of 1200 pounds on the tow vehicle. You'd want something with around 2200-2500 of payload capacity or more. There is the unicorn half-ton (max-tow & max payload), that can get you that kind of payload , but 95% of half tons probably aren't going to do it. A properly equipped 3/4 ton will do, and most any 1 ton will work as well.

I never cared for outbacks. I understand this is the object, but Outback always tries to outdo their competitors, and they fail at it. I think they're just plan and ugly.
