I totally agree with the first 45 sec of this video but let’s get to the point I have a 2020 GMC 3/4 TON 6.6 DURAMAX that has a factory 3” receiver. Your arrogance towards proving yourself right is incredible. The fact that you deleted many comments you don’t like from myself and other engineers over the years to cleans your channel is amazing. Just reply with were to send the pic. Do your research and contact chief truck engineer, Eric Stanczak he will be able to set you straight on many miss quotes you have made over the years.
Please send me a pic of your 3" interior diameter opening hitch that is factory installed (will show General Motors logo on the sticker). Please have a tape measure showing the interior opening width. If you are correct , I'd be happy to make a correct and admit I'm wrong. Btbrvviewers@gmail.com
That’s why I start my comments with “In my opinion” and finish with “I could be wrong” (but I doubt it). The internet is full of arm chair experts and as you know and they are to be taken lightly. The bulk majority of us enjoy your channel and don’t change a thing JD.
I have been in the automotive repair business almost 40 years. I find some videos that I know is false information and i just click off and go on my way. I was subscribed to other channels that i unsubscribed to because i felt that they were advertising one thing and going against what they said the channel was supposed to be about. You have always been spot on and thats why i subscribe to your channel. I learned about some really cool products and yes i went and did my own research after watching. Keep on doing what you're doing bud. Haters are going to hate. Thanks for keeping it real!
"dual pane" is very different from manufacturer to manufacturer. I can confirm that for Alliance it's two laminated sheets of glass with no gap. Very effective at reducing noise, is not effective as a temperature barrier.
I have learned so much from your videos, I always try to fact check information. This is by far one of the best channels I’ve ever found. Thanks for sharing
I think most of the negative "commenters" have JD envy. 😜 Don't let them beat you down my friend, you do a GREAT job! Your content isn't always perfect at times (who's is), but it is by far one of the best overall RV, truck, accessories education and information channels out there. Happy Holidays!!!
Hey JD been here since the beginning you have always been open and inviting to subscribers you have taught us through your own experiences and also through information you have gathered from manufacturers and always have given good advice nobody is perfect. You're just doing fine my friend😊
I think most of the time you are correct in your reviews. The only thing I sort of don't agree with is led lights on campers. Most campers have screwy looking led lights. I worry that if they burn out, getting the same lamp might be impossible. After a few burned out lamps the camperwill have several different looking lamps.
I think you need to call out these "expert commenters" by name. "Joeshmoe22 says the corner steps are the same in the Fords and Chevys. Well joeshmoe22, look at this..."
Your opinion's have guided us in the right direction several times on products and 5th wheels. Based on your opinion's we are able to make our decisions more informed.
Hi JD, I'm not one to reply with emails but I have followed along for a few years now and I have to say your information has been extremely helpful and yes I have checked into some of your research only to find you are correct in your assessments. So Please don't give up ! I enjoy the challenge and the helpful information you have provided us over the years and it has proven very helpful ! My Trailer thanks you ...
JD, I have experienced people who feel they know everything. I was in the USAF for 24 years as an aircraft mechanic, and I was also a Master Instructor for advanced troubleshooting of the F16 aircraft. I have people who have never been near an F16, let alone work on one. Tell me, I dont know what I am talking about. I look at you as someone who has a good bit of knowledge about RVs, trucks, trailers, and automobiles. I think you said in one video that you are an automotive journalist, and you have installed automotive stereo professionally. To me, that is more knowledge than the average person has. Keep making your outstanding videos and ignore the pin heads of the world. Most of whom would argue over everything because they feel they know it all.
In my opinion and based on what I’ve learned from your channel since 2017, and how it has made our RVing experience less stressful, more enjoyable and so much safer than it otherwise would have been I’d say that you are right virtually all the time. Further more, on the rare occasions when you misspeak you come back and correct it. So in my opinion you are an extremely good source of information.
Double-pane or insulated glass units are made by combining two or more sheets of glass with a spacer bar and sealing them together. The actual trade name for this type of window is "thermopain". The spacer assembly is made from a material with low thermal conductivity is used to join the two pieces of glass together. The space between the windows is filled with a gas like argon or krypton to increase the window's thermal efficiency. When they go bad, a fog will develop on the window glass.
You are correct about the hitches I have a 2019 Ram and it has the biggest hitch from factory. It’s not 3” on the inside. But you are correct about one thing no one is perfect. So thanks for all the info you put on here.
Up in the PNW, I've always heard the term "Thermal Pane" rather than "dual pane". Northwood Manufacturing and Outdoors RV (two companies that are under the same parent company) have been using thermal pane windows for many years. I have them in my Arctic Fox truck camper. The make a HUGE different for noise reduction, plus they virtually eliminate condensation problems in the wet climate of the PNW, when camping in colder weather. In my previous Arctic Fox truck camper, I upgraded to aftermarket thermal pane windows from Motion Windows / Peninsula Glass in Vancouver, WA. That truck camper didn't come with thermal pane windows from the factory. The new windows weren't cheap, but they are very nice windows. Motion Windows company supplies windows to a lot of boat builders. Their windows are even used on some of the crab boats in the TV Show Deadliest Catch.
You post a lot of excellent information that no one else is trying to give us. You will encounter "Know-it-alls" and that would tell me they are the young ones not willing to learn. Take the information you need, and keep it going!. People in general are a mess.
Thanks for all the great info JD. I feel you are a good source and I feel you are well equipped and knowledgeable about topics. One thing I have thought about asking is on your front bumper. First let me say I love the look and functionality, BUT, lol. After spending my life in the collision industry the last few decades or at very least the last 5 years especially vehicles have been designed to function as an assembly. From nuts and bolts to sheet metal and bumpers. Changing the front bumper may effect airbag timing and may be a huge issue. I do not have enough knowledge to say how it has changed it just wanted to verify if you thought of this or not. I am not one to say what you should or should not do just wanted you to be aware. Honda has a video about this as pertaining to a/m parts. If you Google honda airbag timing and watermelon it might show some things you may or may not be aware of. Thanks again for all you do and all the info you give
JD just remember haters will hate ,I personally commend you for what you do .I for one value what you have reviewed and given your comments on it has helped me in a lot of decisions. For that I thank you .
We live in a time where the rise in social media and smart phones mankind is under the impression that whatever they type to project upon others is correct. Also built in to this dilemma is that mankind feels the need nowadays to project their opinions when none is needed. As I age I am learning the art of zip lip as the more I am spewing, the less I am learning. I enjoy your channel and your coverage. Thank you sir.
Hi JD, thank you for your videos! I have learned so much from watching them! Can you do a comparison of Ford 450, 550 and 650? A lesson learned the hard way…don’t buy small !
Other You Tube channels will post some of the derogatory comments in special videos, along with their humorous responses. More content for you! Don't let 'em get to you; your videos are always informative, and if I don't believe something, I can verify it. In the meantime, keep up the good work!
And for lithium ion you even have lithium ion polymer (pouches) lithium ion (round cells), and liFePo4 being called "LFE". All 3 have very different characteristics, luckily most liFePo4 batteries have a really capable battery management system that protects it from us doing dumb stuff (charging too cold, over voltage, under voltage, etc...)
I seem to remember you had a BTBRV channel dedicated to rants? Maybe you need another one, “Debunking Viewer Nonsense.” I have a Ram 2500 and I use a 3 inch pin to secure my hitch. It’s not a 3 inch receiver. It’s ok, it works for me.
Perhaps some people believe that because they have a different opinion on something, you must be wrong. I don't think that is the case. You provide a lot of good information, even though I sometimes have a different opinion of something. That doesn't make be believe you are wrong. For example, you seem to like big windows in trailers. If I camped in warm places, maybe I would too. However, I camp in the mountains in very cold weather quite often so I prefer small windows. That doesn't mean I'm right and you are wrong. We just have different views. I'm going to keep watching your videos for the good information you provide.
JD, I’ve only found your videos informative and factual. Never mind the uninformed and negativity. PLEASE continue your videos. Much appreciated Dennis
I laugh at GM fans say Ford stole the step idea. Maybe so but Ford improved them to make them better. LoL most people my age and size can't get our fat legs up that high. So they are useless anyway. LoL
Well for one thing, if there were really that many trucks that come with a 3” receiver it would be WAY easier to go down to almost any parts store or place you can pick up a receiver and get a new hitch retainer pin. When I had first bought my F350 I didn’t realize it had the 3” and had HELL finding a pin for it in town. I needed one quickly as I had to pull a trailer to move. Somehow Walmart came through and happened to have one. As for the rest of the keyboard warriors that like to speak before they think, I think it’s just people just wanting to show their jealousy and can’t admit when they are wrong. I’ve been waiting hung your videos for years and have always admired the research you do on things before you put something out and are also humble enough to admit when you made any mistakes along the way. Don’t sweat the mindless people out there. Keep doing what you are doing.

JD just keep doing what you do. There are too many armchair experts out there to worry about. Go the Joe Rogan route, ignore ALL the comments. Most of us appreciate the time you put into your videos! 🦅 🇺🇸 🦅
Sir, you're always wrong, starting with the first video you made on RUclips. Everything you say, and do is wrong. If people on social media say you're wrong then you must believe them. However, when you purchase a new HD Chevy Diesel then your videos will make sense to the people. 😅
The dealership might of installed a aftermarket 3 inch hitch receiver, they only have 2 1/2 from the factory. I used to work for a dealership, for 30 years and they sometimes go aftermarket parts.

Love this. You should make this a regular video.
As opposed to its current status as "irregular" 😂
I agree
You could do one, assuming you've been called out once or twice. 😊
@ once or twice an hour!
Sadly internet people like to argue for the sake of arguing 😒 keep doing what you do brother...ignore the white noise
I'm here to learn and I appreciate the videos you post.
JD just remember haters will hate ,I personally commend you for what you do .I for one value what you have reviewed and given your comments on it has helped me in a lot of decisions. For that I thank you .
These comments keep the channel alive! Ty for the video!
You do you- Forget the arm chair content creators....oh wait they don't create anything they are just trolls
I remember reading some of the 3" hitch comments in one of your videos. It was comical how many people kept claiming their GM truck had a 3" hitch.
Every comment poster is an expert...
Don’t let these people get to you. Too many people have a comments diploma, this is the internet after all
JD doesn’t matter what other people say, been watching your videos for a long time, good information there.
Your wrong JD we love all the videos you make
I Truly enjoy your videos and have gained a lot of knowledge from them. Keep it going bud!

Alternate subject: have you found any more mice in your truck???
Not a one, and not any signs of any being in the truck.
Hi JD, thank you for your videos! I have learned so much from watching them! Can you do a comparison of Ford 450, 550 and 650? A lesson learned the hard way…don’t buy small !
Welcome to the internet
People dont like when they've bought into internet hype about something and someone with logic goes against what they've bought hook line and sinker

You still do a hell of a job😊
Nice job defending yourself. People get real nit picky. I enjoy your content.
You do great videos, keep them coming.
Had a lot of trucks my 2017 F350 is the first with a 3" hitch, your right!
I seem to remember you had a BTBRV channel dedicated to rants? Maybe you need another one, “Debunking Viewer Nonsense.”
I have a Ram 2500 and I use a 3 inch pin to secure my hitch. It’s not a 3 inch receiver.
It’s ok, it works for me.
Don’t let people’s comments piss you off. Most people are not as detail oriented and speak out of their ass.
I laugh when folks try to fact check you-it’s like they want an “ah ha!” moment to fit their inner dialogue-regardless of reality.
Perhaps some people believe that because they have a different opinion on something, you must be wrong. I don't think that is the case. I think you’re doing a great job. Keep it up and don’t change because of the
na sayers. Cheers
Fact checking commenters on RUclips? Closest thing we have to lifetime employment
Keep up the good work.
JD, I’ve only found your videos informative and factual. Never mind the uninformed and negativity. PLEASE continue your videos.
Much appreciated
Dennis
Well this is fun!
I laugh at GM fans say Ford stole the step idea. Maybe so but Ford improved them to make them better. LoL most people my age and size can't get our fat legs up that high. So they are useless anyway. LoL

I would say that if someone had any other make of truck that had a 3 inch receiver on it then just maybe it’s aftermarket? Maybe.
Correct JD
Great video JD!
Thx for the video and keep up the great videos
Clearly commenters know everything… #sarcasm
gramical = grammatical. haha! just kidding dude you're stuff is awesome keep it up man! screw the haters!
I love you your content. Keep it up .
If you were wrong so much you wouldn't have 543,000 subscribers! is a 450 a 1.25 ton or 1.50 ton? Thank you I learn a lot from you.
After market 3inch reciever added by previous owner or current owner is confusing people
I always enjoy your content.
You are doing it ALL WRONG... singed the internet.... LMAO ! Fun Stuff !
Well as they say
Opinions are like @$$holes. Everybody has one and they usually stink.
JD you all your videos are filled with great information, and you do a great job with updating the content. I go specifically to your frameflex videos from last year. You reported as thing were evolving and when newer information surfaced it was corrected.
What I say to you
Is keep up with what you’re doing and how you deliver the information.
To those who want to be a naysayer there are two options
Stop watching or
Do your own research and make your own information channels
My favorite channel
JD, I thoroughly enjoy your videos! I’ve learned quite a bit bit and I’ve bought some products and have actually made upgrades to our Surveyor based on your videos, after doing my own research first 😎. Keep up the great videos and ignore the hater noise, there are many more of us that enjoy your videos than haters!
I believe you changed your review mirror for the new dash cam did you ever find out if the factory mirror have a sensor for auto dimensions for headlights just curious
The factory mirrors that I removed only had a light sensor for auto dimming.
With the bumper step, you were comparing a 450 to a 150/1500. Granted if you compared a 450 to 4500 or 150 to a 1500 the comparison would be better however different manufacturers would have slightly different designs.
Wrong. Bla bla bla. You’re one of those that likes to comment with no research to back up what you say.
Arm chair experts, RUclips is full of them. Just ignore them. Lol.
2020 duramax 3500 I have a 2.5inch hitch
Only complaint I have is you need to stop talking with your hands
And I’m kidding around with you, in case you were wondering.
You may be right, I may be crazy, oh, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for, it's too late to fight, it's too late to change, you may be wrong but for all I know you may be right.
Thanks Billy ! 😂
My comment made the video! Lol... (The battery tech) Good to know!
ALTHO, I still feel like you pronounce "bluetti" incorrectly.
"Blue ettie" vs "blue yeti"
Haha I probably do pronounce it wrong.
Off topic question, is that 79/80 ford pick up for sale?
73 Ford. Not for sale though, sorry
Happy new year
Damn nice Ford Pickup. 👍 Does it have 6 screws or 8 screws in the hubs?
8 lug. F350 Super Camper Special
We can all agree, rv's are expensive junk.
Are the decals on the Brookstone failing or is that what they look like?
They don't look faded to me, But I'm sure they've probably faded slightly in the last 3.5 years.
No YoU’rE wRoNg!
Everybody know that the keyboard warriors are always 100% correct about every single thing! They speak it and it becomes factually true!
I never take statements as totally accurate. If the information is important to me I will double check from a verifiable source. You sort of lost way back when you were reviewing the snap pads for the trailer leveling system by using the recently acquired excavator bucket. It seemed like a pointless exercise not based on real world scenarios but again as far as I was concerned it didn’t matter. There may have been a logical explanation but with so many other sources of information or actual world reviews it was nothing for me to get bent out of shape about.
I have your videos very informative and I have learned a lot from them. Question is when you (and others ) do RV reviews you never say if the water heater is gas only or gas and electric. I often hear you say it is an on demand water but I am new to the RV world and don’t know how it is powered. Is this done due to the customer having an option when they buy a unit to upgrade at the time of purchase?
Good point. I'll try to clarify in future RV review videos.
People suck jd.. and correcting you means they have no life or purpose (in my opinion) hahahah
Am I wrong about so much??? No
Hey JD, So how about now you call out the comments that corrected you , and they were right?
You many to list 😀
Have you ever seen a 2" receiver fail?
Yes
@@mattl9449 How over loaded was it?
I have as well. Typically, it's the metal bracing that's attached to the frame than bends.
Howdy! Not totally related to the video today, but is there a platform that you view messages on? I messaged you on FB asking for some air conditioner advice.
I'm sorry, we rarely check Facebook. Email me at btbrvviewers@gmail.com
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! Jesus was born and saved the world! We have much to be great full for!

@3:45... If you have a GM or Ram with a 3" receiver, it was dealer installed.
Not sure the dealer's even had access to them.
The dealership might of installed a aftermarket 3 inch hitch receiver, they only have 2 1/2 from the factory. I used to work for a dealership, for 30 years and they sometimes go aftermarket parts.
Your right.😂
