600 or 700 shots. 😮 that air tank lasts longer than any relationship I’ve ever been in.

I’ve waited a while for you to review this. Almost as long as I waited for my fx. Firstly I agree with all comments that it’s wasted in sub12ftlb. But unfortunately as it took me 18 years in talking the Mrs round into letting me have an air rifle again. FAC was never going to be an option. So early last year after gaining said permission I dipped my toe in (the never before tried) pcp market with a second hand s400 took this to my local range and after a few visits I found this to be an extremely accurate gun. In fact too accurate as I had previously only ever owned springers. So back went the s400 and I bought myself an airarms prosprort a gun years ago I had always aspired to but could never afford. It gave me the challenge of the fight with the gun for accuracy vs the ease of pcp. Then for some strange reason (and a very small lottery win) I thought I’ll buy another gun. And yes I went back to pcp and the impact mk2. And after owning it for 6months now. I feel although it is a fantastic piece of kit. It’s no more accurate than the s400. And not quite as enjoyable as the pro sport to shoot. Glad I bought and tried it. But I do think you can get the same accuracy for less money. And even if national lottery decided to grace me with euro millions roll over. I don’t think I,d spend over a grand on another gun. Unless I was good enough to be competitive in ft or hft.

      @Meloncholymadness 4 года назад +3

And if you were good enough, you'd be spending it on a proper target rifle.. Impacts are incredible but only in FAC. I regret breaking the law when I was a teen so much these days, I would love an FAC more than you could imagine. Lol. HPA air rifles should be on shotgun certs in my opinion. Not that I could get one of those either. Lol. i agree with you about springers too, they're way more fun!

I have had my mark 1 for some years now, I stopped out for the bigger magazine and shroud
What I can say is mine took some time to find the right pellet I needed up with the .177 JSB Heavy now I am just plinking in the garden right now like most of us just keeping my eye in for the day we can get out hunting again. I decided to set my self a test and 92% of my shots went into a 7mm hole with the rest being well within the kill zone, this was using sticks or a bipod, now I am no amazing shot I am not but once you get your pellet this thing is amazing. I am lucky to have the FX Wildcat (amazing) the HW100 (fantastic) HW97 not for hunting, and I always pick up my Impact as for going though pellets over a week I shot over 1200 pellets. The Nomad 11 compressor was a great buy too.
Stay well the two of you
    James

The impact is an amazing rifle. Got mine just before Christmas and is a pure pleasure to shoot. This video is great and I agree with others that the power wheel is surplus to requirement but still a nice option to have. For all saying the impact is useless in sub 12 are probably the ones down the pub (when open again) telling all how impressive they are as they have a FAC and can take down a pigeon at 2 miles with a head shot. FAC doesn't make you a better shot, just mean you can still miss but with more power. Shooting over 20 years and still don't require an FAC. I'm happy being sub 12 and enjoying the challenge that brings

Thanks for the honesty of the review, it seems the only people who can shoot the fx guns accurately are the ones who get paid by fx! The quality control clearly isn’t right yet either, the gun shouldn’t have arrived in an illegal state as the person who buys it may not have the facility to test it and could end up in jail for possession of a firearm or trespassing in possession 😕
Why are people still buying these things when they’ve such poor quality and aren’t even going through quality control before being sent to customers??

Good review as usual. I like the look, but £1600 ! In the first lockdown I considered an Air Arms Pro Sport. An idea I rejected eventually, only because I have had one before. Instead I messed about assembling two Crossmans. A 1377 and a 2240. New 18 inch barrel and metal breech for the 1377, stock adaptors and ALL of the available stocks. The 2240 has a 10 shot metal breech, Viper scope. and folding stock. The 1377 is fitted with a middle of the range Optik scope. Both share the same silencer. Both are capable of sub one inch groups out to 30 yards. Both were fun to build, and both are fun to shoot. The two cost less than half the price of this FX.( Which also included gun bags, pellets, x100 Co2, targets and an aluminium flight case for the dinky 2240). Too all those who will say ,"Half the price, but only half the gun". I now have two rifles and the result at 30 yards is the same.

I'd gladly have myself one of these lovely, neighbor Swede made airguns.. But. The pricetag is a bit high for me - and unfortunately they are not semi-auto - despite having some decent resemblence to some AR type of rifle. But, yet again. Would gladly though own one if the price was right. Love the sidelever action on these more accurate PCP rifles.

Interesting review, I have a mk1 and a mk2 Impact. I can only think that the guns were not tuned correctly as at 40 meters you should literally put the pellet through the same hole every time, their finger position on the trigger may have something to do with it but these guns shoot far, far, far more accurately than was just showcased, but they do have to be tuned to perfection.

Andy, you should try the FAC Impact in .22 caliber - its an awesome machine! At sub-12 fpe I don't think that the Impact design is working at optimum - kind like running an 8 cylinder engine with 4 spark plugs missing. Don't forget about the .35 caliber Impact that is now available. Thanks for the video! ATB!

I don’t think I could justify spending that kind of money for a sub12 air rifle. FAC...yes...not sub 12 FP gun. Great gun no doubt, but so many other brands shoot just as good at the humane distances a sub 12 gun allows for a heck of a lot less. Again this is just my opinion. Awesome review as always. Thank you God bless.

    • @shaunjones6049

Hi Mr Heath, most FAC airguns loose money terribly on the second hand market. So I don’t think FAC air guns are worth buying. Better to buy a point 22 rimfire . When you shoot airguns sub 12ft the skill is landing the shot within the limits of your guns ability and your own ability. It’s easy to go FAC and take chest shots .

Hi again Andy and miss aar. 👋These fx impact air rifles remind me of the film terminator. Very robotically engineered looking rifle that will appeal to a large audience helped by the RUclips air gunners and suchlike. Lovely mechanical looking air rifle and would love to have one but i don't think I would take £1.600 or more air rifle with so many externally moving parts that often round my farm with dust - straw - mud - rain and grit flying about on a windy day. I have come back from the farm after three to five hours of shooting and desperately tried to keep a simple rifle clear of all these elements and still found straw dust and grass trying and sometimes making it's way in to the rifles moving parts But saying all that i do fancy one on fac for long range distances on nice summer days. And l love the idea of the massive adjustability as me personally being an mechanical engineer of some years. Tank you so much again both of you and stay safe and your family 👪

These FX airguns are simply majestic airguns . FX airguns are the quintessential perfection of Airgun manufacturing. They are built similar like the Swiss watch. Having one has been absolutely amazing! The power, and the accuracy is second to none. I feel so bad for the lads in England. It would even make sense to purchase one if you live in certain countries like England. 12 ft lbs!!!! Are you kidding me. They restrict air guns that much??!!! That is completely insane!!!! That's like buying a McLaren 650 Spider with 641 HP and 500 lb-ft of torque, but only being able to drive it no faster than 45 MPH!!! Think of being on the Nurburgring , but not being able to drive it no faster than 72 kilometers!!.

The Impacts are stunning pieces of engineering but sadly out of my price range. Glad to see you suffer the same affliction as me, the condition know as BCPSB or Baseball cap peak scope bounce. Love the video and dispels the myth of size matters. In sub 12 the impact is rather price tag overkill but a beautiful gun if you dont mind being the target of the Mrs wrath for a while. In 12+ i doubt there is anything yet to match it until we see the Delta Wolf but that will incur even more wrath, and the incurred debt of a small south american country.

Good review, I’ve had my mark 2 impact for about 5 months, been a lefty the big mag does stick in your face, bought an aftermarket smaller version and left hand cheek rest, and is now not an issue , anti double loading should be included but isn’t, it’s a fun gun but I expected a little more especially on the trigger, very heavy in comparison to a true match trigger like the 9015.

I live in the UK and therefore I’m restricted to sub 12 ft LB, in this lower power bracket the impact does not stand out for accuracy and the tuning is limited to the hammer spring only, if I lived in the US this would definitely be the rifel to buy but here it’s just not that different to any other sub 12ft LB rifel and you can find more accurate sub 12’s on the market.

Wish you would of mentioned if that magizine would get in the way of a lefthanded shooter. We always seem to get forgotten about in most review channels.

Very nice gun Andy. Extremely expensive but looks well built. Some of the fittings look like an added extra and would have been nice to see them a little more 'inbuilt....the pressure gauge for example and regulator gauge. Overall though you could see the quality oozing out from all corners....best get saving!! Cheers and keep safe.

I’d like a gun with this build quality, maybe with military leanings but not so Star Wars

Honestly. I'm not impressed with the groups with such a high end rifle at 40m. They're certainly not bad, but (at least in sub 12) is out classed by other rifles accuracy wise. These rifles are only worth having in FAC/full power. In that case though, they're incredible...

My impact mk 2 is very accurate with pellet on pellet at 50m. JSB exact heavy. If the pellet doesn't go through the same hole the previous shot made then it's me, not the rifle.

I am thinking, what kind of rifle yo buy. Commander or Impact. Impact I don't like, one fact - much opened parts. If came any dirty, the rifle will stop working. This parts protected by the rifle oil - and a dirty a dust welcome - this is seriously minus.
    Thank for good video!
