Once I was listening to I, The Witchfinder at the living room at my da's house with a mate. He got home just as the song hit the solo and he said "damn, that is heavy" looking at the stereo as if he had seen the devil.
I remeber finding this band online, listening to a couple albums, finding out that they're from England, and wondering if they'd ever come to Portland, Oregon in the U.S.. I checked their tour schedule and discovered that, that night, they were almost finished with their set about 20 minutes walking distance from where I live. What a letdown.
i am so sorry that happened to you. I know the pain. I was starting my third year of music school in a small city in canada. country ski town basically. went in to my first day of classes to find out that my peers had seen Sleep the night before at the local club. fucking Sleep. in a town of 10,000 during the busy season. 😭 oh and then covid started that spring and all live music has been cancelled for eternity.

Hope to see both bands live again.
When Hank was gazing into the abyss, I was hoping it would pan over to Bobby hitting a bong and then offering it to Hank. Then Bobby says "¿Quieres bailar con el diablo?".

There are basically two kinds of doom metal bands: the pessimistic evil-embracing one, sinister and usually a kinda nihilistic, and the contemplative, spiritual pilgrimage one who drowns itself in acceptance. Electric Wizard is the true manifestation of the first one. The second one, I don't know... YOB, I think.
Sludge is amazing. It feels fantastic to be able to roll something up put on my headphones and escape my shit life with albums like when the kite string pops or take as needed for pain

Dopethrone, My War, and Streetcleaner are some of the heaviest, darkest, harshest, and most grinding music in all of both Metal and Rock history. Name albums that come even remotely close.
