UPDATE: Rockstar have restored the Rockstar Launcher Services but have removed the Trilogy Definitive Edition. So you can now no longer play even in offline mode once you update the launcher… yikes

It just bothers me how they can take my copy of the game that I paid for away from me like that. To me it's as if they came to my house and physically pulled one of my game discs from my shelf.

Rockstar has managed to completely ruin their reputation as a game company in just a couple of years, from micro-transaction focused content on GTAO, half-assed updates for RDO to taking down both the original versions of these games and attacking/harassing modders because they probably knew their mods were still going to be more popular than these jokes of a remaster. We truly live in the worst timeline
they’re extremely selfish Christ. why not just release it on steam instead of your own site that you’re not even confident in? also why not just release it world wide when they mistakingly released it early?

The rain effect at 2:25 actually fucks with me. I get going down in a jet might make rain appear to be travelling slower, but slowing it down to almost a standstill?

Rain is actually pretty slow, it falls around 9 m/s (20 mph). Going down in a jet with the same speed and faster should be easy, right? But the rain wall standing still on screen and the fact you are not moving forward thru it is definitely an oversimplification

So much of the aesthetic of older games depends on the limitations of the hardware too
I'm calling it now. They think they can walk all over their community. When Expanded and Unenhanced is gonna finally release, watch T2 go after the GTA V online mods. No not the cheating money drop mods, I'm talking RP servers, FiveM, The Ivaneh server. Watch. I really am expecting it. And hopefully it won't happen and I'm acting a bit over dramatic, but the fact they've sent cease and desist orders and men in suits to mod creators doors, i wouldnt be surprised if they tried to take down these modded servers so everyone would play Expanded and Unenhanced.
And if that happens, if we don't respond, we will NEVER get GTA 6, they will NEVER fix GTA ONLINE, and they WONT STOP destroying the peaceful side of the modding community.
I feel like the Rockstar Games isnt the good company I respected in the past. People who made gta trilogy, gta 4, 5 and other great games are now gone. Today, Rockstar cares more about maming money than serving the customers and making high quality games like they used to. I feel double-crossed by company I used to like. I buyed the trilogy definitive at launch, played for a few hours and now they are gone for who knows how long. Bruh.

@@deceit1407 no, its not fun at all. many missions cannot even be completed due to the game breaking physics glitches, broken triggers and oob borders missing all over the map. not to mention that people who play it on PC haven't been able to play it yet.
@@ryanmesler3242 all I'm gonna say is blame the game engine because if you do your research you'll find that Unreal is one of the most broken game engines on the market as well as one of the cheapest aside from Unity
I suggest looking at some Fortnite patch notes to get an idea of how broken that engine actually is and while the game is primarily multiplayer there are still just as many bugs which will have similarities with what people see in the remasters

What i find sad/hilarious and extremely stupid about San Andreas remaster:
1. Some cheats have been removed. (infinite health cheat cmon WHY)
2. Mad Dogg's mansion save bug is still there, so if you save in there; you can no longer play basketball. This has been an issue since 2004 and it's still here in 2021, ok wtf.
3. Birds keep spawning under the roads over at desert and often times you can see them clipping thru the road.
4. Don't you just hate it while you're on foot and you just touch a car and it plays the sound as if you were hitting it with a melee weapon.
5. Denise looks like a granma now. I quess CJ is into older women now.
6. Crashes.
7. Why theres barely any cars driving around?
8. They need to add some fog around the map, just a tiny bit,right now seeing everything clearly makes the game look unfinished.
9. I miss that warm feeling of the og PS2 version, it was so chill.

I feel like this is rockstars marketing . They get so much publicity from bad news that they actually thrive off of it.
I'm glad the SA Remaster was on game pass for me to download and play. From what I have seen, the trilogy is not worth $60.
If you have not already bought the remasters, I would highly advise you to wait until there's a big sale on Black Friday or otherwise during the holiday season.

Edit: I can't launch it through the main .exe now. The Rockstar launcher has patched the cracked exe apparently. So, I guess we can confirm that this whole Rockstar launcher shitting itself and the removal from the Launcher as a whole was to deal with piracy. Rockstar at it's finest

What method did you use? If there is no exe file and the launcher won't let you launch?

At this point, I’m just surprised that people are still giving Rockstar the time of day. Have none of you learned after all these years? The “Expanded and Enhanced” reveal already told me everything I needed to know in terms of what to expect of these remasters. I’ve gladly dropped this game and this franchise and have moved on to better games, and that’s coming from someone who has played GTA Online for over 5 years. I suggest the same to a mass majority of players, as it seems to be the only way that they’ll ever consider changing their ways.
What do you expect? Most gamers have small brains. Look how they act online, especially the GTA community. People continue to pre order and buy products from shady companies because they think it will be the next big thing. Let's be real here, gaming isn't the same anymore, it's been hijacked by old people with money. Games won't ever be the way they used to it's all about money.

You know what pisses me off? Every time someone criticizes of how this game isn’t visually stunning like what you see in most remastered games today, these eerie Rockstar fanboys will keep saying “this is a remaster not a remake”.
What kind of excuse is that? Games like Modern Warfare, Spyro and Halo 2 were remasters but those games had really great graphics, improved game settings, improved audio, and better textures. GTA trilogy is so downgraded that has terrible textures on the characters and buggy gameplay. The looks on the character mods look much worse than the OG GTA originals.
I find the lack of fog in the SA map so weird as you can literally see everything across it. Kinda removes the OG vibe of the game

This is what’s so annoying about the whole marketing tactic of ‘oh we wanted to keep it as close to the original to not ruin the nostalgia!’ It’s such bullshit. It’s easier, cheaper and faster to not add new features than it is to actually add them which is the reason a lot is unchanged. Removing the fog and increasing the draw distance was a very easy thing to do for such a noticeable change, which is why I think they did it.
I've seen people on Twitter and Reddit wondering if Rockstar isn't facing down some serious legal trouble for breaking the Electronic Goods and Services Laws in several countries if this isn't remedied soon.
To make things worse, the definitive editions had a few songs removed, but for some unknown reason, Grove Street Games didn't physically remove these songs - they disabled them with a script lmao.
Dont get me wrong the game looks good for the most part but its littered with terrible gameplay machincs and bugs, its just a complete cluster fuck

Graphically most of it looks okay, but some of the character models are terrible. Edit: rain when flying downwards in a jet also terrible what was that lol

Rockstar's apology is behind a pay-wall.
The object "hydra" and the object "rain" share the same method "drop down" that's why you can see the rain freezing when you loose altitude within the hydra. They need to refactor this method correctly. Hope they will fix this kind of bug 😂

I just love War Drum renaming themselves "Grove Street Games" because they were sure their bush league work on the DE trilogy would be a big break for them.

Ok so I think I figured out why that's the case
So basically "grove street studios" is basically just wardrum but renamed. They're the ones who made the mobile version so I think they just added the unreal engine In those trash versions instead of using the og versions.
Honestly as soon as I heard that they were gonna remaster the games I knew it was gonna be a failure.
The games look good but they're way overpriced I just pirated them and other than the HORRIBLE rain it's not too bad.

In 2003 Arsenal FC went the entire season undefeated, they were nicknamed "the invincible" Fast forward to 2021, there is no one in this current Arsenal squad that played in 2003, and this new Arsenal struggles to even stay in the top 10. The same applies to Rockstar, from 1997 - 2016 they were by far the best games developers on the planet, but none of those legends still work at Rockstar, they've all moved on, and the new kids who are on the block cannot fill their shoes.

Considering Mafia Definitive Edition which was published by a Take Two owned studio (2k Games), the blame can't even be completely put on Take Two this time, it's definitely more on Rockstar's part for this shitshow.

The game come out cracked at 5:30 AM of 12th in my country, now I'm playing the 3 and I'm glad I didn't pre order it, it's not optimized and a lot of work is needed, not to mention the ton of bugs, I will probably buy the trilogy some time in the future when mods start to pop up and do the work Rockstar should've done.

You failed to mention the £55 price tag for a digital download. These games don’t warrant a £55 price tag at all.

Yes they’re old games, so where always going to look dated still, no matter what, but £55 for what they’ve delivered. £30 would have been more realistic.

It is now 16:46 CST on 11/12/2021 (about 31 hours post launch) and the launcher is still down. I only hope they issue me a refund as I bought the game literally right before the servers went down.

I'm starting with GTA 3 and right off the bat I get rain that you just cant see through in the opening cutscene, and that happens both in cutscene and ingame constantly, like its a rain of ice, and the car cameras feel like their from saints row, where their just badly disconnected from the feel of the car and the momentunm, and its really discombontulating, like its stuck on the frame of something rather than flowing with the car.
sprinting feels slower, and the color palate is off, and in the cutscenes their done weirdly without the movie frames and font they were in the original, and look like their far more from simpsons hit and run
and you cant shift targets with the D pad like you could in the originals, and something about the music feels off, like it feels like theirs less than what their was, which wasnt much with gta 3.
dont know if Vice and San Andreas are the same however, but needless to say they need a gta remaster trillogy feedback page with how off some of these things are
also the fire effects, you cant tell or really see them on cars, which got me killed about 3 times on the mission where you blow up the fish vans, and the fire effects from the flamethrower really arent that visible so you cant tell when your cooking the triads for El Burro

Rockstar just successfully created a huge black market for people to pirate the old versions and leave these ones to rot. THIS is why people pirate stuff and don't feel bad about doing it and honestly I don't blame them. If they'd left both versions up I'd feel slightly better, but they completely erased a 20 year legacy and shit on it in the process. Sad truth is we knew this was coming since Leslie and Dan left and it's very clear now why they left. Fuck rockstar.

Rockstar Games couldn't have messed up this 'huge' game launch if they tried, not only did they fuck everyone over who directly purchased it on PC and now can't even access/play the games directly, but they also fucked with everyone else who couldn't play literally ANY other games through their stupid launcher because of it being 'offline' for over an entire day!😫
The thing that bothers me is that they removed the originals from the store, so if you want to play vice city again on ps4 rather than paying 14 dollars you have to pay 60 dollars for this shit,

Take-Two and Rockstar, both have crossed their limits! Firstly, remove the OG trilogy and release the 'Definitive' Edition with numerous bugs, glitches and then later remove the 'Definitive' Edition from the RGL saying that, the launcher is under maintenance and they found some files which were unintentionally there. Like, the company is gone who made our childhood awesome and now just only care about making money!!
Why couldn’t they update the controls on the original games? Instead the dynasty is now the mobile game with better textures. My game can’t even run for more than 30 minutes without crashing.

Seeing the rhino take flight made me happy! Lots of my good memories include flying tanks....
I hated the visuals as soon as they showed it off. It actually looks worse/inferior than the original somehow...just like a really bad, tasteless mod. What an awful company R* has become under T2, I used to worship these guys but I'm not surprised, they can never release a good port and all they care about is GTA Online. I can play it on XSX for free but I really don't even feel like booting it up.
I wasn't really following all this trilogy stuff, all I know is that today was one of the very few free days I had in my extremely busy schedule and all I wanted was to hop on GTAO and buy/drive/mod some cars and that plan just completely went to waste...

Not sure if this is really hurting R* as much as it is hurting their customers who didn't have a choice to buy this on a distribution platform that is actually fully functional.
apparently a bunch of developer artifacts were left in the pc release, and music files. it wouldn't matter on console if that happened since it's locked down (for most people) but on pc it's a big deal I guess. and now can't get it now on pc, and ill just stick with the og originals with mods It seems
On Xbone I had a bug in the store where I literally had to power cycle just to get it to register that I had the game and start downloading. But had no issues after that
Even Games For Windows Live is better than having to use an online service-based launcher to play a freaking single player game...

The trilogy isn’t perfect but for a console peasant like myself it’s good enough, I just wanted to play the old games with a few upgrades. Of course it could be better and sure they made some wrong decisions and were lazy with certain things but as it stands it’s better than playing the old versions in 2021 on console.
Now its back.. But not really. They've revoked our copies to fix their game. We can't play the game anymore, full stop. Its been "unreleased".

Proud to be apart of the Masters crew on Gta online, though i haven't been online much at all its due to real life home cleaning lol, makes me feel proud and privileged to have a dedicated creator/leader/member of the community like you as everything you said in this video most guaranteed all agree! Rockstars future is definitely looking troublesome as how can they be allowing such slips up they are massive, beyond reason proof is in the micro transactions they've farmed and turned the GTA name into.

I was going to buy the trilogy one day after its release but seeing it was so terrible that I couldn't play even other games of theirs on PC I might as well just wait for it to be cracked, Rockstar and Take2 don't deserve the profit they earn.
I really wish this remaster was better. There was so much potential for these games being remastered in a new engine because the old engine shat itself when you played the game at above 30 frames per second. Regardless of what you thought of the new visuals, they should've had the option to play with retro graphics like Halo Master Chief Collection because Rockstar DELISTED the old versions of the game on all platforms, leaving us with no choice but to play this. Not to mention the launch was an absolute clusterfuck trainwreck and I'm seriously reconsidering even buying the game in the first place because it looks half baked and rushed out the door as an easy nostalgia cashgrab.
Nothing beats a good old physical copy of a game where you rarely encounter such fuck-ups at a launch!!

It must suck for some employees at rockstar who actually care about the games (which I highly doubt) and want,hell maybe ARE, trying to bring attention to the problems from gtao,rdo, and now the remastered trilogy that need to be resolved to their bosses that don't care about state of the games at all. I feel like if the entire community attempt to bring attention to rockstar's current state, they'll just wave it off with promos and discounts. This really sucks.

The gameplay "improvement" doesn't exist, only thing they added is the option to shot when character is standing with his back to enemies ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Checkpoints? yes you have option to load the last checkpoint but they just restart the mission from the beginning xd,
Rain overlay effect is one of the worst i ever seen, my last dying GPU with artefacts was less annoying than this.

Not suprised, remember GTA Online's launch on 360? That was a colossal f*ck up too.
At least that was an online game though and their first kind of big online game though.

i always have my pc and rockstar games launcher open since i pre ordered the trilogy, i had a blast playing it yesterday but then when i came back from a bad day from school today my day was ruined further, the games said "buy now" and i was left in anger, but then i looked at a lot of videos and seen that i wasnt the only one, anyway i restarted the launcher and low and behold the trilogy was gone, yes it was literally dissapeared from the whole entire launcher but, on my desktop i still had them and i can see their icons so they are not entirely off my pc but the sad thing is they can only play from the launcher which they are not on. so ye thats how my day went and boy oh boy my emotions were destroying me.
That why you need the pirate version, because is not connected online, mine works just fine, even if it took four hours to install, it was worth it, thank gods for pirates and they fixing what game developers screw up.
If you make a game for every gaming platform out there it will be glitchy. This is because the controls and graphics are so different. This was doomed from the start. Happy Gaming out

I don't buy anything day 1 anymore because of potential disappointment. However somehow rockstar was STILL capable of disappointing me on release because all I wanna do is play some GTA Online after a long day and the servers have been down for over 24 hours on PC now hahaha
Guess they really did pull a Grand Theft on us.
