Great story time so close to mine got my 98 used back in 01 for 15k I was 20 at the time had it thru all ups and downs it's truly family know what you mean
I got my 99 30th anniversary Trans am in 2002 when I was 18. Drove it 2 months and the motor went out. Sat in my garage from November 2002 until October 2020 under a car cover in my garage. Rebuilt it last October and back to driving it. So glad we have these cars as we get older, kept them through our 20’s. 👍🏼
The ram air has not been eliminated, air still goes through the hood. If anything it probably pushes the engine heat away from the filter at speed. More air + more fuel = more power!
It's in (my opinion) really good shape for a 20 yr. old car. Ya done good, fun working on it.
Take the door panels off and remove about half the staples to prevent the cracks from getting worse. Do the same to preserve the passenger side.

So you eliminated the ram air....for a open air open heat full environment to dirt n dust hmmm. Line lock (cool)...
