Parrotfish are incredibly beautiful... and delicious! my grandfather often caught them in his commercial fishing nets, so i've been lucky enough to have eaten it many time. the flesh is rich and flavorful, and it can very easily be served in so many different ways. my grandmother's Caribbean-style 'stewed fish' was always extra-delicious whenever my grandfather came back with parrotfish from the day's catch.
I like the taste of parrot fish but I think the way I had it, the blasted fish was very boney and I felt like I had to dance around looking for bones so I could actually eat the fish… if I ever get another chance at it again I’ll try a fillet hopefully without an abundance of bones within
As popular as it is for people out here, when compared to pretty much every other fish on the reef out here in Hawaii, parrotfish flesh is absolutely flavorless. Like, all other fish, you could throw directly on the grill after catching and there is a unique and enjoyable flavor in each species, but parrotfish and wrasse are all the same in that you’ll definitely need a touch of salt or soy sauce with each bite. I’m going to assume that is not the case in other places
Very beautiful. I love that no part of the fish was wasted. All that could be safely consumed, was indeed used and prepared exceptionally well. The blanching of the sashimi was so well done and satisfying to watch! I just love how colorful all of the fish are too. I know many of these are reef or deep water species, but wow! Nature is amazing! 🤩
I like and enjoy your video although I have to say the people preparing your fish aren’t as meticulous as others I’ve watched. Next time tell them people around the world are watching 😊 🙏

The store in the video is Japan. In fact, even in Korea, there are very few places that work after knocking out a live fish. It must be their natural culture. I also didn't think much of it, but after seeing the comments on this video, I will ask them to stun them and then work on it.

The first fish is a parrot fish! It plays a very important role in the marine ecosystem, it is not supposed to be caught and eaten! It is so disappointing that a lot of people are still ignorant about this fact.
Одна и та же рыба сырая, вареная и жареная. Ничего не хочу сказать, но в виде рыбного супа она напоминает вареную жабу! я бы поостерегся такое есть если бы мне предложили.
