No need to rush into it like I did. If I need any more work done I've decided to wait another 7 years and by then young fella will be 21 years old and still living at home without paying board - so he can do it all himself. I call this philosophy "seizing the moment" 🤣 You have nieces and nephews if not kids of your own don't you?
Thanks man - yeah I'm definitely a straight line guy. I could easily have obsessed over this job for another seven years getting it perfect but I had to build in a few imperfections to match the shitty green moldy colour of the wall there 😁👏🏼 (that wall is really bugging me now btw)
Rob Trautvetter - Takami Woodshop LOL and Lou f’ing ground rods suuuucks. Is that for lightning protection? We only use them for the electrical ground in the states, unless on the rare occasion you have lighting spikes on the roof and cable them to ground.
yep - electrical ground - lightning as well but your house would be destroyed before any of it got to earth - you need a rod on top for that. I've been in a building that got hit - it was a game arcade - have you ever seen every single person step away from the machines in a video arcade and the same time and all lose one life? (and all scream wtf) I haven't either since then.
@@TakamiWoodshop I've been in many building that's been hit. In the northern US we have very violent storms, lighting rods, etc - is why I know about them. Around here... well I just get down to the skivvies and run around on the lawn waiting for a hit so the insurance will pay out

Cheers dude. HA! - I think cider might have crept up the wall and killed the green mold. I'll have to try it next time. Actually I have two more paving jobs to do. This was the second one. The first one was training for this, and this is training for a much bigger job - a carport - I was aiming to learn how to work with the layers of material and screeding etc - I did learn a lot. I want to do a rental do-up like you.
I have to get really thick pavers - about 80mm (slabs? - what do you guys call these?) and quite thick layers of the base course and the bedding sand. Luckily the process is fairly well established and easy to find online. I'm renting a digger for this job, and I have a few trees etc to get rid of first. I've been planning this for 3 - 4 years already - things move slowly here in semi-rural NZ. We don't even have electricity yet. That's why I use battery tools and we only have static electricity going into that earth rod 😆
