Stef, congrats on your mile stone, 👏 state coppers were one of my favorites to find! Buttons like you said the military are the ones you want to find the most! This property you're searching at is definitely a honey hole! Keep up the digs. ✌️
Hey Stef Great Hunt there. Congrats on your two Coppers. The first one Great details on it. Love all the Buttons you find. Some of the Buttons you find I won't find here. Keep them coming. Also A Big Congrats on 5000. You do a great job with your videos and I love your research you do to let the viewers like me know what you find. Take Care Stef.
Thank you! There’s so much more that has come out of there… you’ll think I have no idea how to metal detect a site properly, because every time I go back, there’s more! 😂
Thanks Scott, I appreciate that! The channel will continue as it has been for years - truckin’ right along with weekly videos (unless we don’t have power 😂).
Your coin knowledge on the fly is impressive. I have to google everything. Great hunt! Enjoy your videos, just got the Manticore yesterday. Waiting for snow to melt to test it out.
Thank you! I only hunt 17th-18th century sites if I can help it, so I’ve learned a lot about colonial coinage as a result - it’s just fascinating! Awesome you got a Manticore! 🤘🏻
I've never seen any KG coin come out of the ground looking like that! I'm so used to seeing them worn I had forgotten there was text around the edge. 😂 How lucky you were to stumble across that place - I'm sure there are lots more amazing things for you to find! ❤
Thank you! That’s definitely one of my best KGIIs, certainly the best later head (1740-54) that I have! I dug a beautiful 1739 early head KGII maybe 4 years ago, and that one is the nicest early head I’ve got. Yup… that’s how often we find them up here! 😂 If it’s a colonial thickness, I usually assume it’s a KGII, lol! Often proven correct.
Thanx for the info about the 1749 coppers from the Mermaid ... I always wondered about this because all 10 of my KG II farthings are 1749 and many of the halfpennies are 1749 also. Someone from the metal detector club said a shipment of coppers came into Boston that year, but he didn't say the name of the ship. Thanks for sharing, Stef!
Man, loving the 1749 copper. What a pleasure to see your great finds on this virgin site. O, and especially to watch this and to dream while we have 3 feet of snow here in Canada. LOL,,,
@@TheLandPirates1 awesome! I still haven’t found one with super nice details, lol. Best state copper I have is something upcoming from… you guessed it… this site. 😉
Could be, although usually they’re just a solid round piece of brass versus having a hole. Then again it could be a different type of rivet that I’ve just never dug before. 🤷🏼
Do you use water on your finds? If you're using tap water that can discolor coins. I find it most common in nickels to turn bright red. Try distilled water. Happy Hunting!
Thank you! Nope, I generally won’t use water in the field unless it’s on silver (unless I announce that I’ve done so on a copper, and typically that’s reserved for farm field crust). That 2nd coin literally shined up to red with a toothbrush! I suspect fire damage, as I’ve found other fire-damaged relics and coins at this site.

No better feeling than stumbling onto a virgin site. You have yourself a colonial gold mine there Stef.
Thank you! I definitely do… up to double digit coppers here now, tough to come by that at one site in the woods!
Sweet KG2.....going to be a warm weekend!
Dig it Girl!
Thank you! I’ve still got 6-8” on the ground where I am… 😆 Maybe next week! 🤞🏻
Good hunt Stef. Congrats on the KG2 and your other big copper. An even bigger congrats on the 5K milestone. Well done. Take care mate 🦘🦘😁👍
Thanks Andrew! Was a great today - both today, AND that hunt! 😁

They’re cool coins, for sure! Knowing what ship the coin in your hand came over to America on is awesome.

Thank you! That really was one of the nicest coppers to come out of that site so far - and LOL! We’re at around 8” of snow, down from over a foot. 🤮
Great site, Stef! That KG2 has some amazing details!
Thank you! I swear this place gets better every time I go! Not sure what that says about me as a detectorist… 🤔😂
@@StefDigs we have a couple spots like that as well. I chalk it up to soil conditions and how they change based upon the season.
CONGRATULATIONS awesome finds 😊
Thank you! Was an awesome day!
Amazing KG II - congrats!
Thank you! 😊
I’ve been waiting for this one
You must’ve seen those coins on Facebook or Instagram… I always say, if anybody wants spoilers, they need only follow me on another platform. 🤷🏼😂
That KG2 is a beauty!!
Thank you! I have to agree, lol!
Amazing site! Great hunt and video as always! Congrats on all the goodies!

I kept looking for the gold coins are you for real?
Maybe you could take a closer look at the thumbnail? That usually offers the viewer a clue as to what I find… 🤷🏼🤣
👍👍🙂
Hey hey! 😊
You need gokuu to give you your super powers kamaa maya
Hahaha, no superpowers needed... just a metal detector. 🤣
