    I agree with her. I did the old bump and grind for 20 years. Working for a wealthy corporation making them rich like working myself to the bone. Then seven years ago my husband and myself woke up. I decided to open a cleaning business. Six months into that new cleaning business I had a contract with the federal government cleaning an IHS medical facility. That one contract alone makes me more money in one year than I’ve ever made in my entire life. I only have to do the cleaning three days a week each time 2 1/2 hours and that’s it. We just barely renewed the contract for an additional five years. And I’m very blessed to have been able to get what I asked for in the bidding process. It’s funny because I make more money with my little old cleaning business than a lot of the doctors that work in this clinic. The other business that we decided to run was a trucking business. I run that business as well alongside my husband and I even got my CDL license back in April. I never thought I’d be a trucker but when you’re doing it for yourself it’s a whole different story. Side hustle, side hustle,side hustle. Exactly what that second woman said. It’s so true, even though we have the two businesses, I still do my side hustles. I paint Jack Skellington ornaments and between the months of September and December every single year I can pull more side money. Doing something that I like to do. Let me rephrase that…. I love to do it actually. I might have to sit there for hours painting these ornaments. But it’s just cool knowing that my ornaments are literally being sent to all different places around the world and they’re on somebody’s Christmas tree thousands of miles away. So if you took the time to read all of this all I can say is chase your dreams. Work hard and don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do it because it is very much possible. You can be successful at anything. Good luck out there everyone! And I would like to add I ran away from home when I was 15 years old. I never even finished high school. Those 20 years that I worked for other big corporations I was a food and beverage Director. Worked my way up from a waitress and then every position in between until I was the highest position I could be. The last place I worked was in Vegas it was a big casino and I had eight restaurants under me and over 250 employees. God bless everyone ❤️

There’s a certain level of baked in arrogance in many of them. Those who are humble, hungry, and willing to learn, tend to thrive long term.

      @sophien5416 Год назад

      @@farzana6676 I am from Canada. We have great entrepreneurs here (which we are surrounded by as it is the nature of our business) and they certainly deal with challenging networks as the country's population is much less (smaller than California I believe). But I've also found that the Canadian mindset is mostly employee-salary focused as benefits are abundant and people fear loosing them as risks involved with starting a business. For example, women will delay entrepreneurship to maintain the ability to have maternity leave once they become pregnant.
      You'd have to successfully start your business part time and firstly achieve enough momentum such that it outweighs your salaried job. Also, when you do become successful and reach a higher tax bracket the income tax is very high. It's all well and good for the betterment of our country, but I know a lot of higher income people who are exhausted by it too (and consider moving to America for this reason). Considering almost all successful business owners I know are self-made, I can understand why it can feel unfair to pay such high taxes.
      I suppose in America there is less of a "safety net" so there seems to be a fire in the bellies of the people we partner with from the US. For better or for worst, it seems like Americans know they need to hustle if they want to thrive. I've also heard the feedback that they've experienced nightmarish treatment from former companies (like not giving people time off for emergencies). So when they start working with us, they are surprised by how much support they are given to succeed. It's a win-win all around.

    This was actually a good honest segment, no goofy stuff. I like how honest that older gentleman was about how different the landscape is today for younger people. The ppl that were interviewed at the beginning that started their careers 25 yrs ago... that was per-recession. I started my career just under 20 yrs ago and those 5 yrs make a huge a difference. I graduated college right in the midst of the recession. The #1 thing all of these ppl said (the Nigerian guy was the best!) is HARD WORK! Nothing in life comes easy. Pick something you enjoy doing and your good at and you will find success because you will be motivated to get up and hustle every day. That's the only way. Also, a whole lot of luck and taking advantage of opportunities, which is what all these people definitely conveyed.

      You will make it. I’m self employed now but I know the feeling. Buying classes, mentorship, attending masterminds and conferences is the quickest way to start, grow and scale any business. The Second Lady was very much on point about that. Also just find ways to enjoy your life because happiness is something you maintain regardless of how much you make. I make a lot more than I used to make but because I’m not at my next goal I’m anxious and sad. Now I see how you can be wealthy and also be sad. It’s because you forget where you came from and only focus on the the next carrot. You have to watch out for that. Always put things into perspective and enjoy the journey. Love yourself so that it will be easier to bounce back.

    This reminds me a lot about that speech Charles Barkley had, when going to black schools and 90% of kids saying they wanted to be ball players or rappers and the contrast with a white school when pretty much 8-10kids wanting that path, the rest just wanted to graduate, get a master or PhD and work in finances, be a doctor, lawyer.
    That tells a lot about about the effects/results of inequalities/opportunities.

    This is why our society is fucked. Everyone is about money and material things. If you don't make a ton of money but are completely happy and contempt with your life there's nothing wrong with that. Not to mention these people have to always be working, ask their kids how much daddy or mommy is around.
